Hello everyone! I made it back!!!!

Now it will take me forever to catch up with this thread, but I will try to scan over it to catch up with what has been happening with you all. Unfortunately I had to finally admit that the baby blues were a bit out of control and accept that I have PND. Its been a really hard few weeks, but since admitting that there was a problem and starting to get help things are a little brighter. I think I am just shocked because I really thought out of all the pregnancies this was the least likely to have PND with, lots of friends with kids now, settled in area etc etc, but still it came. Anyway I think a big help will be getting back on here and reminding myself I am not the only person struggling with a new baby, so forgive me for not catching up before I post, but it would have just delayed me saying hello again.

Right, I will now try to catch up with you all!

hub2dee · 24/11/2005 12:40

Welcome back pinky.

Eulalia · 24/11/2005 12:49

Great news on your dd hub

MB - glad to hear your dad's op went well.

Hi again Pinkmama.

In a rush today so catch up later....

Belo · 24/11/2005 13:34

Good to see you back PinkM . Glad all went well with your Dad MB. No interesting news from here apart from dd2 only woke up twice last night! Oh, and she's found her feet! Who needs toys when you've got feet? She won't let go of them!

merryberry · 24/11/2005 17:29

Sorry to hear you got bit by the PND hound this time round PM. What are you finding is helping?

hoxtonchick · 24/11/2005 19:19

so happy to see you on here pm, hope we can all be cheering .

i took dd to a drop in session this morning, at her soon-to-be nursery, & she loved it, was really interested in everything. then we went to the cinema which she slept through mostly.

hub, i'm going to the big meetup. i do have a social life apart from mumsnet, honest!

hub2dee · 24/11/2005 21:55

HC - Will see you then. Just said yes in main thread. I'll be easy to spot, LOL. Do say hi !

Eulalia · 25/11/2005 08:45

We have about 3cms of snow and ds's school is closed. I think dd's Playgroup is open (its in the next village) Bang goes my child free morning (ds2 usually naps part of the morning) and my plans to tidy the house.

Ah well at least I can admire the view.

PM - hope we can all cheer you up

Eulalia · 25/11/2005 13:49

Hello again. Had a great morning. dd went to playgroup. ds2 slept so it was just quality time with ds1. We made a snowman, threw snowballs and drank hot chocolate. Turned slushy now though.

OK need a bit of reassurance ... Has anyone's baby dropped down the weight centiles? ds had his last set of jabs and weight check yesterday. He was born on 25th centile and slipped down last check and this check has gone down to under the 9th centile. He is now 13lbs 1 1/2 oz and is 17 weeks old today. HV said not to worry as some babies drop just before weaning then most confusingly she said not to wean just yet. Want to wait till 6 months - managed fine with dd but she was a much bigger baby all the way through. ds2 is smaller than ds1 at the same age even though ds1's birth weight was less. Sorry rambling but paranoid I am not feeding him enough with running around after the other two kids.

pinkmama · 25/11/2005 16:03

Eulalia, I am so envious of your snow. I love it sooooooo much, and its one of the biggest things I miss now that I have moved South. Brighton really doesnt seem to get it. Regards dropping down centiles, I have no experience, but would suspect thats quite normal.

Thanks for all your warm welcomes back. MB - I have been running a lot which helps lift me a bit, and my HV has referred me to a pND support group (frightens hell out of me but worth a go I reckon) and GP has referred me to counsellor. I want to avoid Anti Ds because of breast feeding and she very supportive of that. Obviously if I cant manage then its more important the kids have a sane mum than little V gets breastfed tbh, but I do want to try and managed without.

How many of you are going on the meet up tomorrow? Have fun!

Fingers crossed for some snow X

mrsdarcy · 25/11/2005 16:20

Welcome back Pinkmama! Hope the PND doesn't last for long.

Eulalia - one of my DSs (can't remember which one ) dropped centiles and no one was worried. I bet your DS2 is just about to have a growth spurt and you'll soon be posting about sore boobs . Your snowy day sounds lovely. You're near Aberdeen aren't you? Is it v rural?

DD won't sleep at night unless she is snuggled right up to me - otherwise she screams blue murder. She has a cough and is teething, and it's so cold that I'm inclined to just go along with it, but it is pretty exhausting and means I have no evening at all.

merryberry · 25/11/2005 19:22

Bad joke alert PM, well at least you can leg it at high speed from the group if its truly scary...

I'm not going to the meet up. Considered it but am not because I'd rather meet some MNers quietly first, plus am saving my dps babysitting for catching up with friends and for Xmas parties.

Pinkmama - sorry you've been feeling low. Hope the help you're getting makes it a bit more bearable for you.

MB - good news about your Dad's op.

Mrs D - hope you get a bit of time to rest at the weekend.

Eulalia - sounds like a perfect winter's day. I would also imagine your ds2 is absolutely fine and will get heavier when he's ready.

Does anyone else's baby cry whenever put in their carseat? Dd seems to have taken a dislike of her seat and her screams are terrible - particularly when you're trying dismantly double buggy in the dark and have forgotton how to collapse it. She does go quiet though the minute the engine starts.

Going to have a cosy evening eating veg korma (takeaway)and watching film.

merryberry · 26/11/2005 18:04

Thanks for the good wishes for Big Vin. He is doing OK, had a common complication (60% of people have a racing heartbeat afterwards) but is responding well to treatment. Is hating his restricted movement and (look away now if squemish) is in quite a lot of pain from where they stripped his mammary vein out to use as replacement...OUCH.

Latearrival, yes, ds hates the carseat in just the way you describe as well. And it makes us laugh how he cries when the car is stopped and stops the instant the lights change etc.

having a class quiet night in tonight. dvd's, easy prep food. but first, popidol...

pandagirl03 · 27/11/2005 10:47

hello everyone,

sorry to read about worrys with your dd/ds.
my dd started to roll over on friday i was so surprised now theres no stopping her. hope everyone is well

hub2dee · 27/11/2005 12:23

hi mb, hoping for smoothness for Big Vin, and lovely nurses, and reasonable food, LOL.

LOL, pep, they left me in one piece.

You / hc / me have a cinema date Thursday right ? What time / where ? (Can't believe I didn't get to speak to you hc last night, but it means we'll all be nervous strangers together, LOL)

hub2dee · 27/11/2005 12:24

(smoothness for his recovery). Gosh, still excited after last night. Must get out more. And preview.

hub2dee · 27/11/2005 12:24

oooh. babba gave us her first giggle today when I was playing with her. Dw is peeved, LOL.

Eulalia · 27/11/2005 18:34

merryberry - was it a bypass he had? My dh had one 10 years ago. He found his leg took ages to heal but his chest didn't take so long. He had a review not long ago and is still doing well. When will your dad get home?

Took kids to see Santa today (2nd time already as we went to 'another' Santa last weekend). This one was a bit expensive for not v good toys so that is it till the real one. It all seems so early this year but then again it'll be creeping up on me as usual - I am not usually very organised about it.

Have been making more of a conscious effort to feed ds2 more to fatten him up lol! Seriously though not going to watch the scales - he's obviously just a petite little boy.

merryberry · 27/11/2005 18:42

Yup Eulalia, a quadruple bless him. Good luck with the food!

H2D, it's Thursday at the Hampstead Everyman meeting up about 11.30 for noon show of Mrs Henderson Presents.

Pasta sauce boiling over....run woman run.

hoxtonchick · 27/11/2005 19:03

i know who you are hub! we did briefly say hello, honest!

Belo · 27/11/2005 19:06

Was the big meet up good fun? Dd2 won't let me go out yet without her in the evenings. Routine still not predictable and she's not too keen on the bottle.

hoxtonchick · 27/11/2005 19:14

it was the first time i'd left dd, belo, & i spent the whole night whittering on about it.... she was fine, went to bed at 5:30 (!) & i woke her up to feed when i got home. we had an emergency bottle & formula but dp didn't need to try it. lucky really, as he tried to give it to her this morning so i could have a lie in & she screamed so loudly (2 floors down) that it woke me up!

hub2dee · 27/11/2005 19:41

I remember the curls, hc ! OK. hub2dee and dee2hub and chub2hub (I just thought of that last one tonight, LOL) will be there on time.

We are trying to get third round vax done in the next couple of days (she had a cold when it was due so we decided not to go ahead), but I don't expect any adverse reactions.

BTW - has anyone done BCGs for their July 05 or other babies ? Are there age guidelines ?
