GA probably her H has updated fb: Baby Bear was born at 1.20am, PST! She was 6lbs, 11ounces. We're all doing great. xx

tinkbig · 25/05/2011 11:55

oh stripey thinking of u
great news congrats gotart

moosemama · 25/05/2011 12:03

Congratulations Got Art and welcome Baby Bear! Grin

Stripey, am sending lots of love and light in your direction.

GotArt · 25/05/2011 16:24

Thanks Ladies! It was such a fast labour again! By the time DH got home from work at 10.30pm, I definitely started labouring but seriously thought that it would be slow. He rang the MW to give her the heads up, but half hour later the contractions were 3 minutes apart, and when she got here 20 minutes later, I said when can I start pushing... she now... then Baby Bear was born at 1.20am. DD woke up just as she was coming out and was all bewildered and hung out and chatted with us for about 15 minutes, then wanted to go back to bed. She loves her sister already, coming in this morning all sheepishly, asking for baby. So very sweet. BB is laying down next to me sleeping right now. It was funny last night, tucking DD into bed, I said to her, I think your little brother is coming very soon, and she said no... I said sister, and she said yes, mummy. Grin

Tea It was me that posted on FB...lol

Stripey But it 10 chances that its a no. Keep positive. Smile

PatTheHammer · 25/05/2011 16:33

Ahhhhh, crying a bit here after that storyGrin

Massive congrats to you all GA, sounds like a nice calm transition into the world. Enjoy you babymoon with your little baby bear xx

Stripey- everything crossed for good news for you my dear. Some friends of ours had to have an amnio last month and it was a tense time but all was well. The upside is that they found out the sex, I guess you can from the cvs too if you want to? Could be wrong on that though. Sending some Hugs x

moosemama · 25/05/2011 16:40

Aw GotArt, that's a lovely story.

She's quite the little psychic your dd1 isn't she. Grin

Daftly missed that your FB message had said 'she' - congratulations on the arrival of your second daughter! Grin

treedelivery · 25/05/2011 21:19

tinkbig · 25/05/2011 21:23

got art lovely birth story Grin
hi mm and other ladies

missjackson · 25/05/2011 21:45

Congratulations GA, sounds like a great birth too. Hope feeding etc is going well. Keep us updated and looking forwards to seeing pics and most importantly... the NAME!

stripey have my fingers crossed for you - remember the stats are majorly swayed by your age. I can't explain it very well and my science may be all out, but I feel like the blood tests, nuchal fold etc, are all specific to your baby, but the age is just a generalised statistic - if they took your age out of the equation, the numbers might look a lot more positive. I'm not sure if that makes any sense...

Waves to everyone. So busy here, keeping up with two. DD is a real sweetheart but won't be put down! Sensible baby....

stripeywoollenhat · 26/05/2011 18:43

thanks everyone. filthy stress headache but otherwise going about normal business and trying not to think too hard about it....

hi miss j and stripey

hi gotart hope all ok with u

have bought hamster dd1 has named her daisy she is very pretty brown and white

meeting with teacher and senco went really well senco r going to draw up a plan with dd1 to help her with the things she is struggling with

moosemama · 27/05/2011 09:46

Hi Tink

Pleased to hear the meeting went well.

We've had a frustrating week with dh sending a letter of complaint into the school and no feedback from the inclusion team about ds1s request for Statutory Assessment.

On the plus side, all the staff in the school are having a day of ASD training today, so maybe some things will improve after that.

Downside is I have a stinking cold, all three dcs at home and Mum and I had promised to take them out somewhere today. Hmm

tinkbig · 27/05/2011 12:19

mm cheers snap about cold have had mine since yesterday !! sucks

have drs with dd1 @ 2:20pm will let u know it goes

hope today goes ok

moosemama · 27/05/2011 13:05

Good luck at the Drs Tink.

Mine came on suddenly yesterday as well and its a humdinger :(

Was supposed to be taking the boys out with mum, but had to let them down, especially as it now looks like ds2 and dd are coming down with it as well. Ds1's teacher told me she had to send home seven children from the class with the same bug yesterday.

Hope you feel better soon.

stripeywoollenhat · 27/05/2011 14:16

all clear on initial cvs results, thank god. going to lie down.

Teaandcakeplease · 27/05/2011 14:45

That's fantastic Stripey!!! Smile Huge ((hugs)) coming your way, if I was there I'd be jumping up and down with happiness x

moosemama · 27/05/2011 15:35

Fantastic news Stripey - have been keeping everything crossed for you. Smile

treedelivery · 27/05/2011 16:10

Oh you must be so relieved Stripey. I'm totally made up for you all.

How are you GotArt?

Glad that meeting went well Tink, how about GP?

Moose, any news from school regarding the complaint?

When these courses are done I swear I am am going to be on here 24/7 just havng a natter. I miss mn!

moosemama · 27/05/2011 16:20

Nothing from the school, Tree, but the Inclusion Team Leader emailed me today to say they have instructed the school to start filling in the request for Statutory Assessment, which annoyed me, as I have told them I want to do the application myself and their lack of communication perfectly illustrates why. (They had a meeting on Monday morning and she only emailed me an hour ago after I emailed her to ask how it went. Angry)

Are you feeling any better? You were ill last time we chatted.

Sounds like you're snowed under with course stuff at the moment. Hope it eases off soon.

treedelivery · 27/05/2011 16:33

Oh Moose they are all so shite aren't they? I'd really bloody struggle witht he idea some bunch of relative strangers were discussing my dc and not thinking of updating me. But I'm nosey a control freak.

I'm still in a down ill thing. Throat, joints, you know the score. Had sick time form work and have appointment to see occupational health. Not great but it might pass Sad

treedelivery · 27/05/2011 16:34

Thanks fro asking though Smile

I hope the lack of response is because they are spending time investigating and coming up with a great response.

tinkbig · 27/05/2011 16:37

dr was poo

not referring !!!

did a few tests with her said it is very hard to diagnose dyspraxia
said dd1 isa abnormal

moosemama · 27/05/2011 17:20

You hit the nail on the head there Tree - that's exactly what I'm going through. I have just emailed her back re-stating that we will be making the appication as its the only was we will be kept in the loop and accepting her offer of meeting to go through the paperwork with me.

Tis a right pita though, the LEA have 6 weeks to respond (excluding holidays) with a decision about whether or not they are going to assess. There's only 8 weeks till the summer holidays and the inclusion lady won't get my email response until after half-term now, so it looks like whatever happens the decision to assess won't be made until the Autumn term. Then, if they agree to assess, they have 10 weeks (excluding holidays) to do so, but if they refuse, we have to go back round the loop, gather more evidence and reapply with the same 6 week deadline. So bloody frustrating, not to mention ds is struggling more week, by week in the meantime with pretty much zero support in place. Angry

The whole process takes 26 weeks (effectively 2/3rds of an academic year) to complete even if everything goes perfectly to plan - which it never does. So that leaves ds potentially without support for another school year! Angry

Tink Go for a second opinion, book an appointment asap, some docters are just shite! Doctors are not qualified to diagnose dyspraxia, she needs to be referred and assessed by occupational therapy. If the doctor won't refer - try your health visitor - that's who referred my ds. Also, the SENCO can refer - or the School Nurse. Don't give up, there are plenty of other avenues left to try.

Did he say normal or abnormal? Confused If its the latter, he needs to qualify that statement and refer accordingly.

moosemama · 27/05/2011 17:21

'only 'way' we will be kept in the loop' Blush

Please excuse any other typos am too lazy poorly to proof read.

tinkbig · 27/05/2011 18:12

cheers have got appmnt with other dr
