SO SHIT!

Angry after I posted on here saying he was asleep he slept for half an hour while DP and I sat in the lounge and talked, I went into the bedroom, slid into the en suite and turned the light on (switch is on bedroom wall) that woke him up and he screamed, DP tried to settle him again but we couldnt do it and he came in bed with us again.

I found he was better when he left him to it so I think CC would work on him, plus I dont actually mind hearing him cry after last night, hes a happy chap this morning so its obv not scarred him for life.

He has got his own room but we didnt want to change too many things at once so we were going to get him used to the cot, then move him into his room.

CakeandRoses · 25/02/2011 08:39

morning all

well potty-training day dawned wetly - for the first time ever, F's nappy had come off and he'd weed in our bed, all over dh's side Grin

weird, huh?

decided to start the training after naps and lunch as F (and I, tbh) are in a much better mood in the afternoon and it means i don't need to interrupt training to break off for lunch or keep him going when he's over-tired and evil.

it seems quite common to do it in the afternoon with the 1-day method, probably for those reasons.

i'm probably worrying unnecessarily about all this but where would you put the potty for them to use in a cafe or shopping mall? or would you just try to get to the loo quickly?

vik i'll pm you the details for fb group.

morning all

dh sounds like his own room is the best choice just now if just turning a switch on woke him up.

Kids do the funniest things eh mlic Grin

cakes i didnt take a potty everywhere I was going, always had a change of clothes though

R was good again but i didnt sleep till 4am then awake at 6am for a feed then up at 8am. 6am is the only time she feeds. Couple of dummy runs but straight back to sleep.

that's a bargain mlic! Grin at your phone call, i will try not to phone any customer service agents today!

wss does G has a dream feed too?

congrats on the better nights stac

What are others doing now in terms of night feeds? A currently is doing this:

Goes down at 7.30p, wakes up around 10.30pm lately, (apparently with teething pain), I'll feed her somewhere around 11 - 11.30pm, she wakes for a feed at around 3.30am then again at 6am ish, she then goes back down til 8am (often i'll wake her then to keep her in her 'routine')

i feel quite short-changed as she doesn't have a long stretch at all at the mo but i know i'm lucky that she isn't waking for long periods or for dummy runs (sometimes might do once or twice in the evening but never at night, weirdly)

Hi all

Thanks for your comments about weaning. So basically I am being very PFB, aren't I. I will try and relax a bit more.

Happy belated birthday TSC. Sounds like you had a good one.

Good luck with the potty training cake. Let us know how you're getting on. Or you could give us live updates. First wee is in, second wee on the floor... And we can cheer F on and shout, get in there! Sorry, I've been reading too much BBC football lately.

As for night wakings. Despite being bf, M has stopped night feeds very early on (I think 3 months). So if she wakes now it's because she is poorly or wants her dummy. Unfortunately lately she has started to wake up around 5:30 and think it's morning, which it SO isn't. Today was 6, so I hope that's a step in the right direction.

I'm very jealous of all your meet up talk. But I don't think it will be possible for me to come over on those dates. You're all gonna be "remember what face TSC pulled when she saw you?" and things like that, aren't you. NOT HAPPY! Envy

Not much else to report here. M is still very clingy, but I have a feeling it's getting better. Looking forward to weeing on my own again.Blush (what can you do if she screams the house down as soon as you turn towards the loo)

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Grin at trying to flush the toilet mid-pee

I suppose I will be a lot more relaxed with the next one. Even though I am a bit of a worrier so it might be down to me rather than to it being my first baby...

It's funny how they ignore the person carrying them and just look at mum. I actually think it's quite cute.

Right, time for a Brew

Chulita · 25/02/2011 14:02

S has been crying in bed since 12.00. I've popped up a few times to try and settle him but as soon as he realises I'm heading out the door he starts up again. He's been awake since 10.15 so there's no way he's not tired, he's just being a pickle. I'm tempted to get him up for a bit and try again in half an hour but at the same time I just want him to shut up and shut down...

dh sorry about the nightmare night. Fwiw I sleep-trained L at 10.5 months. She was in her own cot/room but feeding 4 times a night. It took 2 weeks of cc for her to settle but pupd and shushpat just made it worse for her. Some children just don't take to change easily. I hope tonight is better for you and you get a breakthrough with D. Have you thought about trying the cot in his own room straight away? Maybe since you've tried him in your room and he's used to that room being a co-sleeping room it's a bit confusing for him. The new room/new sleeping arrangements might be better all in one go. Just a thought though.

I'm feeling shamed into potty training. L finally has solid poos, she's had the squits since she was born, just 'toddler diarrhoea' but man alive, 24 months of leaking, liquid poos...so glad that's behind us. She's been solid for 2 weeks so I can't use that as an excuse any more! cake let me know how you get on, I might try it in a few weeks after we've done our Dorset trip.

Chulita · 25/02/2011 14:03

oh yes, mlic Bear always needs a wee at the same time as I do and if I don't watch it he jumps between my legs Hmm gotta have eyes everywhere with toddlers!

Chulita · 25/02/2011 14:07

I just had a phonecall from the estate agent saying that if we can add another 7k on our offer they may be able to swing it...we could but then we'd be down to next to nothing in our savings...but we'd have a house...but we'll need to upgrade our car if we have another child in the next 18 months and wouldn't have the money to get a decent one...but we'd have a house - argh! what to do, what to do

Chulita · 25/02/2011 14:15

While I'm on a roll, night feeds are as follows

6pm feed and bed
8pm feed (4 nights in 7)
11pm feed (4 nights in 7)
2 or 3am feed
5 or 6am up for the day

Some nights I get requests for both extra feeds, other nights I don't get either so get a longish stretch maybe once or twice a week. Most of the time it's one or the other.

Chulita · 25/02/2011 14:36

20 mins of nap and he's crying again, going to be one of those afternoons...good thing my parents are coming cos DH has just rung to say he's working late and all weekend Angry
