We'll be here to hold each other's virtual hands through the tough nights and delightful days, and to laugh at each other's stories of comedy nappy changes Hmm, and the fear (or not?) of getting back in the saddle, and coating some cervixes just for the fun of it again!! :o

Hello!
I found you all! Ended up having a whopping girl (9lb 13oz) on 8th February..not time for pain relief - according to my husband, I bit the anaesthatist when he told me there was no chance of an epidural!

Feel pretty whacked keeping the young lass fed..and she isn't settling now - ho hum. Our DS is very smitten with her, as are we although I'd be lying if I said I found the sleep deprivation anything but a struggle.

Will read the thread and catch up with the news. Hope everyone is well and not too shattered.

Fuzzywood · 12/03/2011 15:05

Hey Loopey glad you found us and hope you're not too knackered.
Busy day here, dyed my hair, plucked my eyebrows, shaved my legs, changed all the bedding, cleaned the upstairs, sorted out maternity clothes for handing onto a friend and now on second load if washing. Sitting down with a cup of tea waiting for the Tesco delivery. My DH isn't going to recognise me and he'll think he's come back to the wrong house when he and DD get back Grin. Not sure where the burst of energy came from but it's all gone now zzzzz

CupcakesHay · 12/03/2011 15:15

JJKM I cross-posted with you last last time - it's good to hear yur girls are getting on better - and nice to get smiles. I'm pleased that you are getting the right5 care for them - especially the physical therapy - all sounds so helpful - although still a shame about the swallowing.

hi loopey poor you on the no pain relief.

fuzzy - i'm [grr] at you! I now feel like i should try and shave my legs - i'm like a monkey...

I'm SSSSoooooooo tired today. DS up at 6am and not much rest since - he went down earlier but then i had to help mum with the washing and loads of random crap - if i was in my own house, i would have just left it and done it in my own time.

Anyone else still have sore c-section scars?

God i want to be home today so badly. Roll on 29th March.

Also - travelling back from here with DH by train! How the f--k am i meant to get DS, pram, moses basket, car seat, changing mat, nappies, bottles, expressing machine, steriliser and suitcase back with Dh and his mum on train. Are they living in a dream world. So pissed off but Dh has booked the tickets and said "it'll be fine, you just look after the baby" - so i'm planning to!

I really just want to lock myself in bedroom with DS today and talk to no one. Evil aren't i!

CupcakesHay · 13/03/2011 10:28

Morning all! Just wanted to pop in and say a proper hello! Feeling so much better - DS was fed last night at 8.30pm - got him to sleep (on grandad's shoulder) at 10pm - and he slept through (DRUM ROLL PLEASE) til 3am!

Amazing!

Feel 100% better.

Spent half of last ngiht crying and worrying i wasn't making enough milk for him as he just wants food all the time - but today, i'm just hoping it's a growth spurt.

hope you all have Smile lovely peaceful sundays!

travispickles · 13/03/2011 11:36

It is amazing how much better a 4 or 5 hour stretch makes. I felt like I had PND last Thursday due to a night of awake an hour-asleep an hour all night... I can see how easily you could slip into depression with that every night.
Off to McDonalds soon [naughty mummy emoticon] :)

CupcakesHay · 13/03/2011 16:19

Mmm... McDonalds Envy

We went for a walk to Hope Cove - which is a very pretty (but hilly!) stretch of beach near here and then had yummy pub lunch - although roast dinner had sweetcorn Hmm

Anyhow - it's exhausted DS - he had a nappy change and a feed and is back sleeping... 3 hours so far and coutning GrinGrinGrin

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 14/03/2011 08:24

Morning ladies. Hope the LOs are behaving themselves and sleep and boobs are all good. L is starting to do one 3.5hr stretch at night from about 10pm to half one in the morning, so clinging on to that and hoping he can do more of the same.

Spent the weekend away with the family and my parents at my sister's holiday home in the cotswolds which she normally rents out, but it was free this weekend so we got a last-minute call to say we could go. It was fab and we went swimming (pre-6-week jabs so L had to look on from the side), but DD2 swam a little bit all unaided, so very excited about that. Parents babysat a bit too so we got half an hour to ourselves so we could swim together (something you can't do once you have kids!) and have a steam/sauna - lush!

Downside is L won't take the bottle - he's done it once and we've tried now about five times (that's five lots of boob milk down the sink - sob!! :() Both girls took it with no problem, so I'm a bit stuck - any ideas?

RunningKatie · 14/03/2011 11:03

morning

am feeding DD, got a breastfeeding person coming round this pm as I'm still ouch. Talking to them on they reckon I could have thrush, reynauds and traumatised nipples! :( No wonder it's a bit painful.

Well done to the leg shavers, I did mine too and conditioned my hair! :)

Cupcakes, do not envy you that train journey one bit.

Well done Fuzzy on the mad cleaning spree, I've not felt the urge to do that yet although the living room looks a sight so best tidy before the BF woman appears.

Fuzzywood · 14/03/2011 11:24

Morning all.
Running that sounds painful, hope the bf lady can help. Had the HV around this morning so had to tidy downstairs too, I even hoovered (both kids looking at the Hoover with puzzlement).
Evan up to 11lb 8oz now no wonder he feels heavy. Bubba you must have great biceps carrying L around.
We're off to Centre Parcs next week and I was planning on taking Evan in the pool, he won't have had his jabs but I'm sure that the NHS say it's ok as everything they innoculate against is killed by chlorine anyway. I'll double check and report back.
Lovely day here today so if I can detach guzzle guts from my boobs at some point we'll head for the park I think.
Have a good afternoon all.

RockLover · 14/03/2011 11:40

Oooh Cupcakes, Hope Cove is lush, we have friends so own a house there so we get invited quite alot, mainly so the boys can go out fishing on the boat. And yes I can attest to those hills, Ali took me on a cliff walk there last Easter, thought I was going to die!!

George and sleep, now there's a bloody nightmare. He hardly sleeps during the day and does his screaming routine during the evening which is horrid. To be fair he does do 3 hour stints of sleep at night, but they're either on me, on the bed or in the moses basket that we have on the bed between us. I can never relax becuase he snuffles and grunts like a a little piggy when he sleeps and never keeps still!

Well done to all you who shaved your legs, mine still resemble a forest, I just never get time to myself to do them. George won't let DP settle him so I awlays have to do it, hence no spare time at all Hmm. On the positive side, I've found a salon to book an eyebrow wax with and I've been recommended a hairdresser, yay!

Right, George is grizzling, so I best be off, speak soon.

Fuzzywood · 14/03/2011 11:45

Link below to the advice on swimming from the NHS, you can take them before vaccinations. Hoping that Evan loves it as much as his sister did at that age, she was so chilled out that she fell asleep during one swimming class Grin

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 14/03/2011 11:50

oh, didn't realise that fuzzy - ah bollocks, well next time we'll know. we didn't have enough hands anyway, but good to know for the future.

Just sorting through some of the girls' baby clothes to pass on (and am sobbing my way through the task :()

Who own a house!

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 14/03/2011 12:06

I just thought you owned houses wherever you had friends!! :o

OP posts:
Crystyclear · 14/03/2011 12:24

you lot are all fab

thank you.

jjkm thrilled your girls are coming home.

re: swimming. my HV said 8 weeks+ only so they are in the water for a reasonable amount of time - get too cold too quick before... apparently.

bubba i've got a bundle of things my DS has grown out already and bundled them up for a friend who's preggers. also felt a bit Sad

it's becoming impossible to get anything done during the day as DS is awake for majority of it 10am - 10pm with only short 15 min naps. he craves cuddles too. his facial expressions are gorgeous though.

had our first bath together today unaided. hurrah! thanks for the tips bubba

also tried on pre- maternity clothes today and my jeans no longer fit! they are TOO BIG [smug face] Grin

CupcakesHay · 14/03/2011 13:11

Envy crysty and your smug face and well done on the clothes! Not so good on the 10am-10pm front. I think I might be in same situation back in Syria. jesse is so used to people picking him up.

running Sad poor you and your traumatised nipples - i hope it gets sorted.

bubba no point crying over thrown milk Hmm BUT have you tried getting someone else to give him bottle/going out of room etc? And my mum just suggested - try a different teat - maybe try a medium flow teat? maybe he's not getting it quick enough for his liking. but poor poor you.

DS is almost giggling - is that possible? he has some of those contrast books and loves them so much - but particularly the mirror bit where he likes to look at himself and giggle Hmm - think he might be a bit of a prima donna when he grows up! Grin

fuzzy from what my m/wife told me it's fine to swim - but it's the poolsa that get all funny. I asked at my local pool and they said DS def couldn't swim til his jabs... so maybe don't tell centre parcs he hasn't had them (oh and have a FAB time)

rock no idea what to suggest about george. Maybe persevere with DP putting him down in his crib - even if it means a heart breaking sobbing from George until he falls asleep?

Ok - is this MIL being weird... have told her ages ago that we were meetig friends in pub in london 1 afternoon when we are spending the week with her. So then she asks if she can come - stupidly i just said yes. Then retorspectively sent her email saying of course you are welcoe, but DH will be talking to friends, as i will and DS will be being cuddled by friends who are all dying to see him - so she might spend the whole time sulking in the corner like a 5 year old as we are taling to friends and ignoring her bored. Angry anyhow - imagine she'll still come and sulk. but really - you think she'd let us out of her sight for 1 afetrnoon!

Oh - and have to share - DS's latest fun thing to do. I burp him, then he snuggles in and somehow manages to throw up a tiny bit down my clevage. nice! Wink

devon girls are we on for weds? Smile hope so!

CupcakesHay · 14/03/2011 13:14
