8inches dilated... such a long wait when you're not in the middle of it yourself...

Her's is 9 so that makes Sprite 10 :) Thanksgiving this year is going to be mad with babies/kids as my youngest at her first in January too :)

bebemooneedsabreak · 17/06/2011 16:33

inches lol cm! if she was 8inches dilated that baby would be sliding out Wink

bebemooneedsabreak · 17/06/2011 16:36

and shld say youngest SISTER bah! I'm tired and brain is not working (obviously)

PuzzleRocks · 17/06/2011 18:24

Inches Grin. Any update?

My Mum has yet to get all of her children and grandchildren in the same room together. I can just imagine the brilliant chaos. Must do it soon.

bebemooneedsabreak · 18/06/2011 16:38

My sister had a little girl Rosalyn Fern 7lbs15oz 19.5 inches long :) Yesterday at 3.30... they're both doing really well. :) She's got a lovely head of reddish brown hair that's curly in a angelic way :) SO beautiful!

PuzzleRocks · 18/06/2011 16:39

Yay. What a lovely name. Congrats to your sister.

ZuluWarrior · 24/06/2011 22:30

Hello quiet ones. I'm finally on maty leave. Hurrah!! Expect me to be dominating this thread until I go into labour Grin Grin Grin.

Bebe congratulations on your gorgeous niece. Photos?

AuldAlliance · 24/06/2011 22:58

hello Zulu! Enjoy maternity leave...

Have been at DS1's school fair thingy with old friend visiting from back home, who is now working in Cabinet Office but still nice enough to attend such affairs and get very excited indeed at DS1 winning a pony ride at the tombola.

Too much local white grape juice has been quaffed. Am tipsily trotting off to bed.

BUT before I go I have a Very Important Question to ask. (hic)

Is anyone's April baby out of nappies yet?

(oh, and - Boff, how was Beijing?)
(oh, and (told youse I wis tipsy) - when are all these babies coming?)

Bonne nuit. Hic.

Ooh Zulu, can we have a labour thread?

Auld - not yet. She uses the potty happily enough but still has too many accidents for me to brave leaving the house with her in just pants.

bebemooneedsabreak · 26/06/2011 16:10

Congrats on the mat leave Zulu. Hope you can enjoy it while you get ready for the new one. How are you feeling? What have you got to do? Are you doing anything different this time than the first time?

Moo still in nappies. She's just not interested in going on the potty currently so we don't press the issue.

Yeah for winning pony rides...Moo would die of enjoyment if she actually got to ride a real animal...

Photos of niece- for life of me I cannot remember how to put photos up... will look into it...

I've got, um, like 8 weeks or something to go I think....Aug 18th ish tho DH keeps saying Sprite's going to come early this time...she's been SO active this past week. Moo was an active baby, but compared to this one she hardly moved at all! I swear, hand over my heart, that Sprite has been active nearly all day (11am until abt 11pm) from Tuesday until today..And I'm not talking abt the cute little swishy movements as they roll over... I'm talking kicking and pressing and mad writhing movements. Dh has stood staring at my belly while I'm talking to him saying things like: omg look at that I can see that...did you see that? was that the head? look there's a foot... Look! -to which I respond I don't need to look I can feel the whole thing honey, every little gut pressing bladder jumping, belly stretching, diaphragm crushing instance, thank you very much. I feel so knackered and SO sore. BUT I have to say that for the most part this 3rd trimester has eased with the physical discomfort (thank goodness) as long as I don't over do it. :)

PuzzleRocks · 26/06/2011 17:17

Bebe - It was the same for me and Holly came a week early.

bebemooneedsabreak · 26/06/2011 17:54

Picture of Ros on my profile (if I did it right), will only leave it up for a couple of days. x

AuldAlliance · 26/06/2011 22:32

bebe, I can't see your profile... maybe because you namechanged?

AA, I haven't even bothered trying ToddlerWarrior out of nappies yet. Am going to wait til the dust settles after BW2 arrives. However, he happily pisses on the floor before his bath so the control is obviously there Grin.

Puzzle, re. labour thread..... No. Sounds unhygienic Grin.

Thanks Bebe - I'm feeling fine thanks. Lots of Braxton Hicks and head feels like it's going south so I'm hoping for another early one. Added incentive as the job I'm about to apply for is interviewing around my due date! I don't think I'm doing anything much different this time around, except all the rubbing of cream into the bump, no heavy lifting and other such luxuries of a first time mother have gone out the window!

I hope all the southerners have been enjoying the heatwave. We had torrential rain yesterday. Although I'm glad not to be in 30+ degrees heat in my condition. Hope you all have a good week. I'm off to continue gutting the house and tidying up DH's shite Angry Smile.

PuzzleRocks · 27/06/2011 09:45

I look like this Angry. And with oodles of sun cream in the house. Prat.

bebemooneedsabreak · 27/06/2011 12:35

Yes Auld I forgot to make it public under that name (silly me) ...thinking it's working now

Pity abt the rain, but have to say heat is tough when preggy... (I personally kinda enjoy it when I'm not-but then I grew up with 30s in the summer being normal daytime high) it's 81'F here in Germany today which is a measly Wink 27'C and it's humid and I feel a bit ill unless I'm drinking fluids... or naked... and naked is not a pretty picture nor really wise with random builders on the balcony at random times... Tho I currently have a cotton dress on with ahem no undies on and it really helps...
BH- I've been having them terrible lately too. DH keeps giving me the big eyes 'you're not going into labor already?!' look whenever I get them. :) Nothing like scaring the boy Wink
Hopefully the job comes through after you've had the lo early :) it would be an exciting start to everything :)

Meg and I managed almost 2 hours out digging in the sandbox again. I made her a big castle with a tunnel through that was big enough for her digger to go through...She was SO pleased she gave me a hug Grin AND said 'dank yooou' :)

ZuluWarrior · 28/06/2011 12:37

Oh bless her chubby little face Smile.

B52s · 28/06/2011 13:15

Sam's not out of nappies yet. Took till DS1 was 4 to get him out properly, so am not hurrying with Sam. He does hold himself in the bath and do a very cute 'look! winkie go wee!'.

Bicnod · 29/06/2011 09:22

Hellloooooooooooooooo :)

I'm on mat leave too Zulu but it's only just beginning to sink in. Today O is at the childminder and I have nothing, absolutely nothing planned. Bliss. What's your due date?

Auld - O is not out of nappies and I'm not going to attempt to potty train him for another few months. He knows what a potty is for and has done some poos and wees in it but with DC2 imminent I don't think now is the right time to push it. He likes to sit on the potty on his terms and gets very upset if DH anyone is too insistent. When the time comes I will mostly be using chocolate buttons as bribes.

I did not enjoy the heat this week - I thought I was actually going to die when it hit 29 degrees in our bedroom.

So I'm 37+6 and starting to look for signs that labour might be on its way . Here are my symptoms for your pleasure (some are GRIM so don't read on if you are a faint-hearted FW):

  • can't sleep (grrrr)
  • yuk yuk yuk TMI but yellowish/greenish stuff in pants (google tells me it is probably bits of mucus plug??)
  • stabby pains in cervix which make me wince and feel like the little blighter is trying to poke its way out using a sharp nail
  • increasing amount of BHs (not painful, just very very tight)
  • occasional period type pains and increased feeling of heaviness low down

Soooo - how soon can I expect number 2 to put in an appearance? Place your bets now please.

bebemooneedsabreak · 29/06/2011 13:56

Oh Bicnod you sound very close if you've got plug showing... isn't it only about a week at most if there's 'show'? -I seem to remember something like that. SO EXCITING!
It's 29+ degrees here today... looking forward to the storm which they say is coming...Meg and I spent our morning shopping (because the store was gorgeously cool with air conditioning)

Schulte · 29/06/2011 14:03

Grrrrrrrrrrr. Hello everyone. The dds are driving me mad today, just had to shout at them and now they have gone outside in the garden because mummy is a meany Hmm I'd better check what they are doing though... [sigh]

bebemooneedsabreak · 29/06/2011 14:41

I;ve been short with Meg a lot lately :( Finding it hard to keep my cool and my patience at the same time...

AuldAlliance · 29/06/2011 21:09

Thanks for the potty training feedback. I'll put it off for a bit, as A really isn't ready.

I remember being PG with DS1 in subtropical heat, and can sympathise with Bicnod and Bebe.

I, too, am very short-tempered. DS1 and A quarrel non-bloody-stop, and it is doin' ma heid in. DS1 winds A up, and A attacks DS1 for the slightest thing. And I shout.

DS1 had to have a chest x-ray today as, in spite of the awful heat here, he has a vile, scary cough. Haven't spoken to doc yet, but radiologist report says beginnings of pneumonia-type symptoms in one lung, as far as I can interpret it.

Tomorrow I am meant to drive with DS1 and A to FIL's, 5-6hrs away, to hook up with my Mum, as she and DS1 are meant to fly to Edin on Sat, where the bracing temperatures are not quite what a doctor would order. A and I are to follow on July 12th.

I am endlessly going over the options and fretting. DH's motorbike was "stolen" by morons who trashed it and left it 600m from the house, and so he is now "sharing" my car. Getting to the x-ray place involved half the town helping us out, and DH is racking up the speeding offences, in my name.

I look so knackered the Jehovah's Witnesses who rang the bell this evening said "Oh là, là, Madame, you look exhausted. Here's a leaflet to read, we'll trouble you no longer. Bon courage." Every cloud, and all that....!!

Blimey Auld, I came on to moan but you have given me a bit of perspective. I hope everything falls into place. Best wishes to DS1, poor little scrap.
