wow you all talk loads at the moment!! i agree with the others on here cakes you are what my dh would call a yummy mummy, F is rocking the beckham look!
dh what is D eating in that photo with the cucumber? it looks lovely and messy, L loves pate and marmite now!!
my ebay things are going well! my dream genii pillow was £49 in mother care as it has a cover i bought it in tk maxx for £25 it is already at 25 with 6 p and p with a day to go!! proves some peoples crap is anothers ones treasure! looks like all 18 items will sell all within an hour of each other so i best get wrapping them up!
dh downloaded music last night and i virus, so when i put on a net security we had 372 infections!!!
whats everyones views on giving meat to their babies? i havent yet as im not sure if i should stay away from beef? also things like yoghurts? are these 12 months as its dairy?

Dylthan · 10/01/2011 18:29

Gave B some cucumber sticks last night and she shoved one to the back of her mouth and made herself vomit. It's really scared dh and now he dosen't want us to do BLW Sad

I haven't really noticed B pooing more but we're using reusable nappies and they have begun to leak. I did get warned about it when the real nappy lady came round with the nappies apparently it does settle down if you persevere. It's still annoying as hell though.

tsc poor frankie I hope he gets better soon.

WinterChillita · 10/01/2011 19:00

memphis yoghurt/cheese etc is fine from 6 months, it's only giving cow's milk as a drink that they recommend holding off til a year. Don't know if you're interested but apparently marmite is very salty so it's best to wait til later for that.

dylthan S has thrown up banana twice now, the first time quite impressively after a good old gagging retching session. It's a good sign though cos it shows they can deal with lumps even if it's not in the way we'd like Grin S had some broccoli today and absolutely loved it...he's now screaming in bed (again) but that's just what he does in the evenings now.

Stac2011 · 10/01/2011 19:03

poor frankie tsc hope he's better soon.

kk i had wrote a big post today about R being hard to settle at night and my phone wiped it. She screams for ages before eventually taking her bottle. She's also started frequently waking during the night so she is in the bad baby corner. Bummer bout the car, hope its sorted soon. Condolences about your friend.

cakes f makes a better beckham and the others are right you are pretty

Cant remember who mentioned cows milk but the weaning fair said no cows milk till a year old but cheese and yogurt are ok (please let me know if thats wrong as R is eating yogurts)

dh dylan looks like he is having a great time whats he eating x

DesperateHousewife20 · 10/01/2011 19:19

i'm kind of trying a mix of blw and purees. She's had bits and bobs but when i'm eating she is in her walkie or something so she cant steal food.

WinterChillita · 10/01/2011 19:38

stac we're both still feeling like utter shite - DH got the day off work and will probably not go in tomoz either, he spent the day in bed with a temp of over 39C so I know he's not faking Grin I'm going to turn in soon cos S is going through a horror night phase at the mo of 2 hours sleep, 3 hours awake followed by 2 hours sleep and up for the day and it's totally kicking my ass, esp now I'm ill!

memphis83 · 10/01/2011 19:41

stac i had to call again today im getting to the point where i dont want the bloody pushchair! they rang icandy while i was on the phone and they said it has been dispatched today.
chulita thanks for advice on marmite, any inspiration of anything else i could put on rice cakes and bread? im stumped! he seems to like strong flavours!

WinterChillita · 10/01/2011 19:50

cream cheese/any mashed fruit (some berries are quite strong flavoured)/mashed veg. I gave L smooth peanut butter at an early-ish age but that's down to how you feel about peanuts. Also bear in mind that some children react to strawberries - they're quite hyper-allergenic - still worth a try though, L loved them even though she came out in a rash around her mouth when she ate them. Blueberries have always gone down well here and they spread on toast quite easily. They make awesome nappies too Grin

WinterChillita · 10/01/2011 19:52

baby led weaning recipe bit not much for breakfast but might give some ideas!

WinterChillita · 10/01/2011 19:53

At the risk of completely dominating this thread I'm off to bed cos I feel like I'm about to keel over. S has finally stopped screaming after 2 trips upstairs to pat him on the back. Goodnight!

WinterChillita · 10/01/2011 19:54

Oh, and tsc I think you're gorgeous just the way you are Grin

memphis83 · 10/01/2011 20:38

chulita L loves strawberries, and his nappy was mmmm interesting to say the least! he wasnt too keen on peanut butter but will try again, kept thinking something like jam without suger and nasties duh didnt cross my mind to mash fruit!!
tsc i hear bags under the eyes are in this season but tell Frankie that refreshed eyes are back in by next season and to let you get some rest!!!

i didn't realise we could give peanut butter and stuff like that!i'm definately going to start giving her a broader range of things now. what aren't they allowed? and when giving chicken do you just give a lump in the hand? and how do you cook it?
i think cakes thinks we're a pack of lezzers and we've scared her off!
and tsc you are very attractive Smile.kate is the double of you!

Woodlands · 10/01/2011 23:25

J had chicken the other day, I gave him a little strip to hold and bloody DH shoved it right into J's mouth (not very BLW!). J ate it fine though!

You can use cow's milk in things and on cereal etc, just not as a drink. I might start using it for J's porridge instead of EBM as I can't be arsed pumping all the time.

Once they're 6 months they can basically have anything except honey, whole nuts and really salty things. Eggs need to be cooked till hard. I've been wondering about alcohol in food - the chicken J had was coq au vin! It was being eaten quite happily by the baby and the toddler of the people whose house we were at so I figured it was probably fine.

CakeandRoses · 10/01/2011 23:42

Evening you pack of lezzers.

Gosh, I have half a day off and come back to all these lovely compliments! :-) Thank you!

It's funny because, I'm sure like all of you, I don't think I look a patch on my pre-children levels of hotness when I thought facials and pedicures were life essentials and probably never will again but... in a weird way I actually feel happier with myself now. I think motherhood makes women more attractive in some strange way. So we're ALL a bunch of foxes! ;-)

tsc you had your quota of compliments after your sexy leopard clad christmas pics, iirc ;-)

Wrt blw: F always used a high chair and like mlic I only gave F appropriate (no/low salt and sugar etc) food in the first 6 months or so, not just anything I ate. I remember my pfb F's first birthday was the first time he'd had proper sugar (birthday cake)

memphis I used to give F a 100pc fruit spread from health food shops or freefrom sections. Also Natex which is like a low-salt marmite. Humous is also a real winner with most babies - just check salt levels or make your own (v easy).

Get well soon chulita and get sleeping soon S!

CakeandRoses · 10/01/2011 23:46

Oh and I did give F various nut 'butters' but went for the wholefoods one with no/low sugar and salt.

Will be interesting to see whether Ms NeglectedSecondChild gets the same poncetastic rarified diet! ;-)

CakeandRoses · 11/01/2011 00:22

my step-bro's baby (Harry) has been born by c-sec earlier today. He's 4lb 3oz. I can not believe how healthy he looks in the photo (haven't seen him properly yet) - he was only 32 weeks but he almost looks like he was term.
