That is a lot of weighing! Lottie was weighed at birth, 5 days, 10 days and then again today at 5 weeks, and that was only because I took her as I wanted to know if she was big enough for a gro-bag yet.

Fenouille · 24/11/2010 21:35

Blimey mibby that is excessive! I thought it was bad here but that's ridiculous.

Is there a minimum weight to use gro-bags? I've just been given one but didn't realise I needed to wait to use it until he has a certain weight.

bunnygirl80 · 24/11/2010 21:43

Yay for all the babies regaining their birthweight. Took Will to be weighed on Tues and he's now 300g heavier than when he was born Smile

He seems to have developed a habit of saving up his poos until the exact moment DH does a nappy change. Grin Poor DH ended up in the shower at 1:30am last night after a particularly impressive explosion!!

hmmSleep · 24/11/2010 22:06

Fenouille, I think they're supposed to weigh more than 8lb 8oz to use a gro-bag.

Wallace · 25/11/2010 07:43

marking my place!

Vix7 · 25/11/2010 09:35

bunny, the shower?!?!!? geez how explosive was Will?

DH is grateful that he ended up with a baby girl so he doesn't get 'baptised' by pee. as he puts it "I'm reminded of every time I change her diaper and thankful for every time she pees in the middle of a change."

K only got weighed 3x so far - at birth, day 8 and day 16.

hmmSleep · 25/11/2010 10:25

Vix, Our little girl has managed to projectile pee (quite a skill!) all over myself, Dh and my Mum, so your Dh is not necessarily safe Grin.

Wallace · 25/11/2010 10:58

Not going to try to catch up with all the posts....

Ds3 (Hamish :)) was 7lb 3oz at birth. Weighed today (day 7) for the first time since and is 7lb 15oz

hmmSleep · 25/11/2010 20:11

Congratulations Wallace, just read your birth story Shock!

Babybean1 · 26/11/2010 05:37

Hi to everyone and of course to all the new babies :)

Haven't had much chance to read back as on phone so not that easy but just wanted to pop by before time disappears even more and the topic
changes to first birthdays!! Grin

So Evie is 3 weeks and 3 days already! Can't believe
where the time has gone! We have been in undated with visitors which now seems to be settling down I'm pleased to say! Nice to see people but also nice to have some time
just for us IYKWIM!

Weight is piling on for my little munchkin :) was 7lb 2 born,
and when weighed on Wednesday she was already 8lb 12 & had put on 7oz in 5 days!! Had a couple of nights
during those 5 days where she was feeing every hour during the night (almost sent her back for a minute lol!!)
Grin so guessing that was a couple of growth spurts!! She obviously like mummies milk!! Grin! Midwife was the opposite with weighing here and said she wouldn't weigh her as she could see she was putting on weight Confused & would do it next time! Saying that she was more interested in watching the TV instead of writing my notes or talking to me....so prob just couldnt be bothered!!

Going back to question about grow bags (sorry for inpersonals!) but I was given/ bought a few which can all be used at different stages. Evie
has been using one suitable from 7lb 7oz the last 2 nights and has slept through for 5
hours!! Not sure if part of why she was waking before was because she was getting cold
as she kicks her blankets off! Either way she seems to like it and I found info of weight etc on label inside :)

Hoping to be able to post more now during night feeds :)
as it helps keep me awake!

Sorry for such long self indulgent post....hope everyone has a nice day

Babybean1 · 26/11/2010 05:41

Oh and waves to hmm as also have a projectile wee-er!! Madame has managed to Christan quite a few outfits with fountain like weeing and DH has got caught short a few times Grin!

bunnygirl80 · 26/11/2010 06:08

vix I think it was an unfortunate combo of Will pooing just as DH lifted his legs up to wipe his bum so he was able to score a direct hit Grin

Had my first mother's group meeting today. Not sure if these even exist in the UK, but over here we're assigned to a group with about 10 other new mums. We have 4 meetings supervised by a HV, then we arrange our own coffee mornings etc. if we get on and want to see each other again Smile. It was really nice to actually see other people whose babies are the same age as Will. He decided to show off and do a massive poo that breached his nappy, his clothes and mine - just a shame I'd forgotten to take a change of clothes for either of us so then had to spend to following 90mins covered in poo Grin

bunny there seems to be a bit of a theme developing there Grin

bunnygirl80 · 26/11/2010 11:22

fen ha ha. Am beginning to wonder if there was ever a time where I had something to talk about other than my son's bowel habits. Grin

Mibby · 26/11/2010 12:47

MW just been, she's put 100g on in 2 days so feel much better now. Think most of it went on in a marathon feeding session last night :)

And no more weighings for a week. Hooray!!

grinningbee · 27/11/2010 08:46

Morning all!

Mind if I join the sleepless side? I can't believe that Jack is a week old today already. Probably like the rest of you I am in a sleepless fog. Jack is awake pretty much all night, then drops off properly at 5am, which is when dd wakes up crying for mummy... bless her.

He was weighed on Thursday, and had only lost a little bit, so I'm looking forward to seeing what's what on Monday. He's draining me dry!

Dh has gone out today to help someone move house. I have no idea when he will be home, so it should be interesting today. I've sat and had a bit of a cry, which is stupid. I've got to get used to it sooner or later!

Right, going to read the whole thread now and catch up with you all.

Grin
BorisTheBold · 27/11/2010 10:48

Hi grinningbee - welcome to the dark side Grin. Is this the first day of just you and the kids? Jack sounds like Astrid at the moment - awake from 4/5am and then falls asleep just before 7 when I need to get the other two up for school. I was planning to catch up on a few hours lost sleep yesterday, but dd1/2 schools were unexpectedly closed for the day as most of the pupils and teachers have came down with a nasty bug. So instead of a few hours snuggled in bed, I had soft play followed by bowling and MacDs - not my idea of heaven!

My HV (who's not actually a hv, I think some community nurse type) came to visit yesterday. Astrid is two weeks old and now 9lb 10oz (was 9'4.5 at birth) so am pretty happy with her weight gain. Her belly button is still looking a little red and sore, but no real advice, other than "keep an eye on it" Hmm.

Dp has kidnapped her (A not the hv!) this morning and has taken her out for a walk in the pram. I think he just wants to show her off, coz it's freesing outside. The older girls and I are still in pjs enjoying cartoons and eggy bread. Not sure what we'll be doing for the rest of the day though.

grinningbee · 27/11/2010 11:23

I have just managed the impossible! Both children are asleep, and I have a hot cuppa and a kitkat. Yay!!

Boris I had them on my own on Wednesday for 4 hours, but today will be longer. It hasn't been too bad so far, and I dare say it will get more and more challenging! 3 hours so far...

I have had to explain to dh though that I cannot answer the phone the instant he rings, and that it is pointless to ring back 3 times in a row because I might flaming well be busy! Bless him for checking up Grin

Mibby · 27/11/2010 12:19

Grinningbee We get that here too, DH went out for a few hours on Thursday night, texted to see how we were, then again cos I didn't answer straight away, then rang etc.... By the time I'd finished the nappy change I was doing he was convinced some disaster had occurred :)

Fenouille · 27/11/2010 13:01

Welcome to the other side grinning :) Hope today goes well and you get to enjoy your kitkat!

Baby steps back towards normality here. Our best friends came over last night (bringing a take-away) to spend the evening with us rather than to come and see Norry. Although as usual Norry decided he needed to eat right as dinner was ready so I got to eat warmed up curry while everyone else watched me

He's currently asleep on a snoring DH so I'm enjoying a few moments of peace and quiet.

Hope you're all having nice weekends and aren't too snowed in - we even had snow here this morning!

bunnygirl80 · 27/11/2010 22:37

I've managed to find some free time from somewhere so I've attempted to update the stats thread with all the arrivals so far.

Apologies if I've missed anybody Smile

Finally back well almost to the world of the well.
After Thursdays visit to the hospital about Isaac's jaundice (which thankfully all results were good just going to take longer to shift cause he's breastfed)I suddenly came down ill about 5pm and was stuck in bed til this morning really, was worried it was flu but thankfully not

Back up the hospital again Tuesday this time for a hearing test.
Isaac is doing fine, still feeding like mad, maybe over doing it sometimes as he is sicking alot back up of late Confused he even got DP's shirt good style before he gave him a bath tho he also peed all over me before I handed him to DP to wash his Hmm

Has anyone elses LO been sicking up after feeds?

Just to share in the baby pics
Here is Isaac on Tuesday when he turned 2 weeks :)

Hello Grinningbee!

Isaac is gorgeous Rinnyx.

Lottie did her first proper smiles over the weekend, very cute indeed, although did seem a little bit Hmm when she was wide awake smiling up at me at 2am!

Was supposed to have baby massage class today but school and playgroup are both closed due to snow. Feeling most relieved Lottie's already here, wouldn't fancy trying to get to the hospital in labour in this weather.

grinningbee · 29/11/2010 09:40

Had a bit of a teary day yesterday. Dh after helping someone move house on Saturday (was away for 8 hours) ended up being out yesterday too as the heater in our car died, so he decided to take it apart... and left me again for half the day.

Both children decided to scream/cry at the same time and I'll admit that I found it difficult to cope with. And I haven't even had a chance to wash my hair for 5 days now I think. Yuck.

Oh, and he's out again today for I don't know how long. So much for taking time off!

Dh also thinks that ds doesn't like him, as he cries nearly everytime he is with him and I leave the room Hmm Silly sausage!

Once ds has finished feeding I need to clean, mw is coming tomorrow and the place is a bit messy.

CardiCorgi · 29/11/2010 12:28

grinningbee I hope you feel better today. To be honest, I've just been telling myself that midwives are used o seeing messy houses and mothers in their pyjamas.

Felt pretty bad on Friday - Dh in all his wisdom decided to turf me out of bed at 8am so that the cleaner could come in. Not at all amused, especially as she then did our room last, so I could have had some more sleep after all. I think he's now realised that I need my sleep more than I need a dust-free bedroom.
Things were not helped my MIL asking me what I weighed three times. I think it's pretty obvious that I've still got a bit to loose by the fact that I can't wear any of my normal trousers yet.

Who had milk spots? Poor Aino is covered with them, no idea if I've eaten something that she doesn't like. Apart from that, she is pretty content.
