Morning all.

All your posts have made me realise that
my treatment was all a bit of a trauma and the aftercare was pretty poor. Let's not even mention the rude MW who went into theatre with us.

I think I will do a debrief and a letter. I am not so hot at complaints letters.

box I got what you meant about medals and I agree it's all about the prize.

So three weeks on and I was hoping i'd be feeling pretty good post op but I am still sore and decrepid.

Are those BabyHwks good for floppy newborns?

SilverSky · 24/11/2010 06:58

Ps Thanks for all your support.

AlpinePony · 24/11/2010 08:19

boxer Not to worry - we all knew that was what you meant, simply if the Queen were to start putting people on the Honour's List for difficult chidlbirths, our silv would be getting her ears sliced royally orf and doing interviews in "Hello Baybee" with a photospread to include her vagina & cervix! Perhaps a photo of her hunched over a wheelbarrow at the stables for the glam "rural outdoor" shot - pushing the trolley around Tesco Fortnums for the glam town shopping shot. Wink

silv I'm sure one of the FESH "battlers" (battleaxes?) would tweak any letter you wrote (copied & pasted from above) to turn it in to a formal complaint letter. As banger says, I don't understand why anyone would go in to that profession without basic human kindness - they should've become doctor's receptionists instead! Grin

ESHes - for the love of God, don't try passing half an hour by baking a cake. [burp]

I had explosive diarrhea [sic] last night. Am either diffed again or just a 90 minute bug. Hmm This all happened at the gym btw.Blush Anyway, got home, crawled in to bed where the boys already were - only to be woken at 2:20 because somebody hadn't given an evening feed so the poor little lamb woke up hungry. :( Dickhead.

What's happened to our founding members? cunty, cheggers, fanny, carrots etc.? Hast they forsaken us?

FP is on tother side of the world andprob no net access, I think rots decided no time for mn any more, dunno about others.

Well talk about 1 step forwards 2 back. Agreat weekend of sleep, 2 nights of horrificness. I thought we'd cracked it, 2 nights in basket, minimal wakenings, then last night and night before, wouldn't settle in basket, came in bed, wouldn't settle there either. ended up crying on tgo at 5 as had minial sleep and wanted to return Artie to the hosp. he will sleep eventually, he will sleep eventually, repeat to fade....

AlpinePony · 24/11/2010 11:32

haha cossie I'm not sure we're allowed to give them back at this stage! Grin However, it's off to uni at 18 and of course because we had summer baybees they'll go off just turned 18 rather than nearly 19.

Just been in to town to meet friends for coffee, handed Bear over for a cuddle - he took one look at her, his bottom lip trembled and he screamed for 5 minutes. Customers left the shop. Blush Have read though that they do have this stage - have tried so hard to prevent it by letting "all and sundry" have a cuddle. Egads. I am a bad mummy and yesterday dropped him in/on his Bumbo. His head didn't thwack on the floor, he was just kind of hanging half in, half out - bottom lip once again was a-trembling but picked up immediately and smothered with kisses he soon forgot about it.

I have a WILD child. Think she'd be better off being raised by wolves/lions...

too exhausted to write more, but I do like the sound of sending them back. Sad

Backinthebox · 24/11/2010 12:12

Cas, what you need to do is pop into one of those baby changing rooms you see at Boots and Mothercare. They are not for changing nappies, as is commonly thought. They are the last line of defense of your sanity when you have had enough of your baybee and fancy a different one. Into the baby changing room with one, out with another. Ta-da! Wink If you are very nice to me I will send you a story (or maybe two) about a Wild Child. They are precious to me and are stories about TT and her pony and her nana's doggies (wolves!) which I hope to get turned into picture books one day, but in the meantime I hold onto and show only the few!

Silver a wobbly newborn might slip out of the side of a Babyhawk, but within a couple of weeks they will be fine in them. TT looked so tiny in one at 10 weeks and hated it, plus I was scared she was going to slide out of the side of it, but loved them from about 14 weeks on. I was still carrying her in it aged 2 and a half, while pregnant. LG, otoh, is a whopper and likes to sit up and see around him. We have no worries he will slip out un-noticed! Depends on the baby, really. Of course if you want retail therapy tell HI you need one Wink.

Try not to worry about feeling decrepit - you have just had major surgery and a tiny human is now depriving you of the peace and quiet you need to recover after these kind of things. But you will get better, honestly! And DO write the letter. I had appalling treatment (on a par with yours) after my CS with TT and didn't write a letter, and regret not doing it now.

Ski I don't know why, but I suspect that you of all people here would be most intrigued by the snippet that I live in the same village as the future queen of England, and Clucky and I can ride straight past her front door. We also drink in the same pub as Will, too. Grin (Well, we do when we get out to the pub these days!)

I have been riding my pony. Well, he feels like a pony after Big Horse. He is lovely Smile. And sooo the right colour to hide the mud. And he doesn't trash his stable either. Aaaah!

LG is currently watching Jamie At Home. I am hoping he will rustle me up something tasty for lunch.

AlpinePony · 24/11/2010 12:29

boxer has just reminded me - there are those baby drop-off points in Germany aren't there? I believe they "fit" until about 2 yo.

What are you planning to do with racehorse?

OP posts:
Backinthebox · 24/11/2010 13:18

Oh, don't ask difficult questions, Ski! The racehorse is easy and low maintainence, and Ma Jennie likes him. When she's happy, she does all the yard duties and keeps everything ticking over. Tis cheaper than paying a groom! As a bonus I get a spare horse out of it. Also, I have never had such an all-out competition machine as the racehorse. He just needs quite a few rough edges polishing a bit more and he will be unbeatable. But he was bought as a winter project and atm is not yet finished. It may well be that next Spring I need to get on him and sort him out myself, as I wouldn't be schooling him the way Ma Jennie is! Which brings me to my final point - while she is schooling the racehorse, she is NOT getting the urge to school my new little horse Wink.

SilverSky · 24/11/2010 14:52

Another 130 - 4am wake up call! Wouldnt go back down after changing/feeds and was very alert. No real screechy screaming but still tears.

HI for the last two evenings after an evening bum change and feed around 9/10pm I have snuck off to bed and managed to get some proper shut eye til MB demands boobage. This has made a massive difference to my tiredness levels and my state of mind.

Not spoken to sharer yet, will leave it a few days and I figure if things are a real ishoo then she'll have to get in touch. I've tons to deal with at home and I've made it clear that I am always contactable and approachable whenever as hoss is important. So we'll see. HI has offered to help but I dont want to overload him as he has so much on his plate already and from a practical point I am not sure how he'd manage it, even though he said he would. MIL suggested "hiring horse out for the year". Veh veh helpful advice.

So do baybees have nightmares?? MB was snoozing in his Moses quite happily and then all of a sudden woke up screaming like billy-o and after being scooped up and cuddled and kissed he went back to snoozeville and I have plonked him back. When he is asleep he also looks v v pale. Perhaps its just the contrast to him being a beetroot when screaming.

So I have not been out the house since Sunday. I am due to go out tmw for the afternoon. Cant wait. I am so bored of TV. But not bored enuff to tackle the shithole mess. Just have to find something to wear that looks half decent and disguises me jelly belly. Tho it is going down very slowly. Wish my buzwams would also go down. I am told in 4 wks time they should reduce?? As long as I am not left with horrible saggy things I'll not mind. Otherwise it will be cosmetic surgery here we come.

BOX I have ridden round the Queen's home grounds. Tis great fun. Execept for the deer in rutting season. Them stags are massive and scary. Am I talking about the same place as you??

NCT chum suggested Close baby carrier - anyone any experiences? I see them on ebay at a reasonable price or its best part of £60 for brand spanking new.

Must remember to C&P my birf story and save it somewhere ready for when I do my letter.

Hope to pop into work at some point to see everyone. Chances are MB will be asleep when we get there and then some people will want him out to cuddle and I am not sure I am ok with that. Esp those that smoke heavily. So any excuses feel free to let me have so I can use at my leisure!!

Cosmosis · 24/11/2010 15:54

silv when they are proper asleep I think all the blood drains from their face, they are so pale! I think they do have nightmares, Artie has sometimes yelped out in his sleep, is scary!

re sleeping baby and work visit, just say, no he's asleep please don't disturb him. When I went to visit work Artie was asleep and everyone was very good and said, oh I won't have a cuddle as he's asleep.

CUNextTuesday · 24/11/2010 15:59

I am here. Been without a laptop for over a fortnight so out of touch. Also have nothing to report or be any use about so nothing to see here.

Well, except that Rastus has one solid meal a day now and is very positive about the whole shebang. He eats cauliflower ski. We have so far had carrot and pea puree, and cauliflower and broccoli puree. He has had banana mixed with babby rice and milk and a few spoons of petit filou. I discern no problem with his appetite or his willingness to wolf try new foods. We're having mash tonight so I'll be making him some of that but I don't know what to mix it with - any suggestions?

PS - FESHes with enormous and hungry babies like mine: don't fanny about till 6 months to wean if your instincts tell you your kid is ready. We started Rastus at 4.5 months and he LOVES it, judging by the big grin, grasping at spoon and opening his mouth like a little bird before the last spoonful is barely swallowed... mind, check out my kid - 92nd percentile for weight, 97th for length and off the fucking scale (let's say 105th) for head circumference. That's what I mean by enormous Grin

AlpinePony · 24/11/2010 16:12

silv Yes, same here with nightmares. Suddenly big, frightened screams - we just do what you do, sprint over, cuddle and give lots of "there, theres". So glad to hear you're getting a bit of sleep. Don't worry about hoss - if it were really bad you'd be getting snide texts from busybody liveries... and if it were really, really, really bad you'd hope they'd have the bloody sense to call the vet before you! :)

cunty Mash & carrot? Swede? Just don't salt it obv. Yesterday he tried strawberry-apple mix for the first time with daddy. No probs. Today I sat him in his Bumbo on my desk and as I gave him a taste he looked at me as though I'd dropped liver on his tongue. Hmm When daddy feeds him his bib looks like Rastus' - when I do it, it's like an explosion in a paint factory. :( I can haz knack? haha we also have flapping arms of fury should you be "too slow" in delivering a mouthful - and he cries until the empty jar is placed well out of sight! Funnily enough, all my friends today admitted that they'd started before 6 months and felt that the NHS was too cautious, in fact the Greek girl rolled her eyes and muttered something "it's all Greek to me" like. Wink

Bear is slap bang in the middle of all the charts, which is fine for me tbh, because they're measuring him against full-term babies, so it ain't so shabby - although he'll not be brawling with Rastus any time soon! Grin

I think I may have birthed something akin to Geoff Capes

AlpinePony · 24/11/2010 16:21

haha! World's strongest baby - I'd like to see him pull a tractor & do the stones - what are they called again?

OP posts:
Backinthebox · 24/11/2010 16:27

Cunty he will have to arm-wrestle LG! Although it sounds as though yours' is even bigger than mine - we are only piffling around on the 91st centile for weight Grin.

Silver not THE Queen - I'm talking about Will's bride to be - she lives just down the road. But I have ridden in the Great PArk too - tis lovely. And Prince Philip doffs his cap at all the laydeez when he is out and about, the old smoothie! Grin

AlpinePony · 24/11/2010 16:30

haha I imagine you passing and hearing comments like "fine young filly" - "wouldn't mind covering her" etc., etc. ad nauseum!

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 24/11/2010 16:31

Btw - if anyone isn't already in possession of a Bumbo - Amazon are doing them dead cheap this week.

OP posts:
CurlyCasper · 24/11/2010 16:36

we have fists of anger, head tilted back and mouth wide open when i'm not quick enough with the spoon! Mainly just fruity prridge here so far. Was doing breakfast but she stopped taking much milk, so now it's a 5 o'clock job (ish). i introduced real food after finding her hands in mine too often. She's still screeching like a banshee (for fun) and not helping my headache. Dog keeps hiding.

Grin at Monster child! Mine has caught up very quickly. Got some new hand me downs but some already too small.

CUNextTuesday · 24/11/2010 16:36

are they doing the trays?

CurlyCasper · 24/11/2010 16:37

thanks for the tip off, i need to get one as a gift.

AlpinePony · 24/11/2010 16:37

Yes.

SilverSky · 24/11/2010 19:44

boxy no doubt Prince Phil's then follows up his chat up line with something equally offensive! Ha Ha!

Oh and did I mention that I hate the fricking snow?? Wish it would high tail it away from us. Dont need the aggravation that comes with it.

In horsey news - I couldnt put it off any longer and text sharer. Waiting for reply.

Gotta go - MB has just farted and probably filled his nappy AGAIN!! I have only just changed him.

Cosmosis · 25/11/2010 08:36

Wish me luck, I am on my own for tonight, TGO gone to the smoke and won't be back till gone 10 tomorrow night!
