A satsuma and a walnut is what I got in my stocking!!!

The little chick is getting a riding hat, dressing-up shoes, books and assorted Accessorize tat.
The rellies always go over the top on presents so we try not too. Biggest shocker was going to Boxer's house last year & seeing the dining-room stacked to the ceiling with toys and presents - that is why she needs a bigger house!!!

CurlyCasper · 29/11/2010 09:02

no big gift plans here. She already has too much stuff. Possibly a door bouncer swing thing, but i've not bought anything yet.

honey we're only just thinking about routines, but more a set process for each activity, as per Cunty's bedtime. I've been more focussed on understanding each cry and trying to ease gum pain. Tried Easy routine but she prefers activity either side of food/sleep, so just going with it. Defo think your boy is too young.

CUNextTuesday · 29/11/2010 09:20

Cunty's bedtime: yawn, announce intention to go to bed, ask Hom how long he's going to be - informed 'a few minutes', go upstairs, rouse and feed child, resettle child, await Hom, fall asleep, wake up when Hom comes to bed at 1am, fend off amorous but inevitably futile pawing, sleep.

CurlyCasper · 29/11/2010 09:45

you mean you don't make him count his way up the stairs to you? Grin

Honey I have mixed GF feelings. Last time I followed more or less the feed and rough sleep times and it worked pretty well for us from about week 8ish, before was a bit too early but I certainly agree that just following these timings helped us both. I could never work out a hungry or a tired cry so needed some kind of routine to work out what he wanted. However, I never followed the express times and any other of the advise she had and I would certainly leave the house if I needed too if it clashed with a "sleep time"! Her weaning book I found to be excellent once I ditch the BLW due to multiple food intolerances and allergies! This time I just don't see GF happening for us what with a toddler and a new born. I plan to feed approx every 3 hours other than at night or on demand depending on growth spurts, sleep will happen when it happens. What I don?t like is the way it akes you feel if you don?t follow the routine you will have a disaster and a child that wakes 17 times in the night etc. Please to ignore these bits. cunty is right though, you have a window of opportunity to sport the tired sign, then you are in overtired territory and it can be a disaster. We are having these ishoos in the evenings currently..

Good call on the Brio train set cunty. We got mini C a train set for his birthday last week - he loves it he does. You can also get good tracks from Bigjigs which are all compatible with Brio stuff.

For Christmas Peppa is getting a plastic rattle thing that makes annoying noises and that is about it from us and mini c is getting a scooter which I am sure he will not master until he is 3 but he will fit well in with the scooter crowd round here.

And my comments on Boden I wore some Boden smart stuff for work and it was always well admired and I felt pretty good in it. Mini C has a few Boden t shirts and wears their "baggies" which are comfy and warm trousers. They wear well and wash extremely well and I never buy anything unless I use a 20% discount code. So there.

My fooking car has broken. Could not get it open this morning and according to RAC man it probably has a flat battery. It is 27 days old for fucks sake. Caused major issues trying to get mini C to nursery this morning and he was late and probably missed his breakfast. Thankfully it is a company hire car so RAC man is coming now to sort it out.

SilV spill the beans on the MIL comments..

SilverSky · 29/11/2010 11:20

Not comments gin tarts mlre action.

Said person has a cold sore brewing on lip. Said person momentarily forgets and kisses MB! Luckily only the once cos I spotted it and intercepted bit was too late by then. Spent rest of evening worrying. Said person was mortified and tried
to back track saying it didn't touch him.

So as you see fricking nightmare. Damage has been done and i bloody hope MB is ok.

Cosmosis · 29/11/2010 11:24

oh lord. Maybe she didn't know you weren't supposed to

SilverSky · 29/11/2010 14:16

Oh she knew but forgot.....

Casserole · 29/11/2010 14:30

Okie just an aside, have you seen that GF has a book adapting her routine for when you have a 2nd baby and a toddler? I haven't bought it but I prob will, give it a look. She worked pretty well for us last time though like you I didn't follow the expressing times and didn't stress on days when I needed to shift stuff around a bit. I think that's prob the best way to 'do' her...

Cosmosis · 29/11/2010 14:46

It would seem Artie has been having a growth spurt, suddenly in 3-6 months clothes, it only seems like yesterday we moved onto the 0-3 from the newborn Shock

CUNextTuesday · 29/11/2010 14:57

I hear you young cos and Rastus was in 3-6 month clothes for something approaching a millisecond...

rollerbaby · 29/11/2010 16:23

We completely bypassed newborn! He's in 3 month now! I have actually run low on clothes because I thought I would have ages... Duh.

Dr browns bottle worked last night! No wind or crying although had only expressed 60 ml yest so not loads and he still woke at 3 and 5. It's the 5 wake up that kills me as he just suckles until 7 more or less. So today we stayed in bed, ignored ms ford and slept and ate when we both felt like it. All fine but means I haven't managed to so much as get dressed. Luckily mr moo has been on hand so I could have shower and made me lunch. My mums coming tonight and he's off to Brixton academy. Humph.

I know what u all mean about gina. That said is definitely helpful to hd e a loose structure to workto and understand when he might be tired hungry etc. Today I've let him do what he likes but not sure that is better as he has slept straight after feeding and worried he will be awake all night now.

Silver don't worry too much about cold sore. They ate only contagious v early before you csn see them sovunlikely to have infected the baby. Also he has your immunity remembr. Bit fuckjng stupid tho I agree.

CUNextTuesday · 29/11/2010 17:02

moo if you're struggling I have lots of 3-6 month stuff if you want it

SilverSky · 29/11/2010 17:18

moo Trouble is the cs was in the early stages of tingling and is a red blotch on her lip. She had put cs cream on before planting one on MB so I hope that protects him. To say I am annoyed is an understatement cos the whole thing was avoidable. Grrrrrrrr.

We don't have a routin as such. MB calls the shots. Each week it's getting a bit easier. Either that or I am getting
used to my new lifestyle.

My tum still hurts. Knowing my luck the work experience guy sewing me up prob did a botch job.

Registering MBs birth tmw and then off to bf clinic to get some help!!

First milestone for MB: got his first bogeys ! Wot a boy!

FannyPriceless · 30/11/2010 06:06

Hello FESHes and FESHlets! Especially new baybees - so fab.Grin

Here I am on other side of t'world! Has all been a bit crazy. I think the kids have turned native. It's all bare feet and paddling pools on the lawn now. We walked to the local shops today and had to keep running between patches of shade as it was so hot. (Sorry to hear about snow and freezing arses off, btw.Shock)

We are totally exhausted though. It was planned that MIL would help out for this part of the trip, but sadly she's not coping at all. We have had family conferences etc and everyone agrees she can't be left in charge of the kids. A sad consequence of older parenting I guess.Sad

In two days we drive down to the vineyard to stay with Grandpaps, who phoned yesterday to inform me it was 30 degrees.Confused

Meanwhile Clyde is feeding like a monster so I have introduced... food! Currently on day 3 and still yet to see a reduction in demand for t'boobies. His appetite is insatiable. I was proud that his first meal was at a barbeque though!Grin

I am enjoying keeping up with the thread when I can. You are all legends (esp silv for birth story). Love to you all.

AlpinePony · 30/11/2010 08:28

Okie I'll give you the baggies - they are gorgeous and if I can pick some up in the sale I definitely will. The stuff which puts me off in the women's collection are the prints - just "not me". But I'm sure you look lovely.

FESHes - I assume by now you all know that by giving out Calpol you've doubled the chance of your child having allergies? Yes? Fab, I counteracted this by letting small dog french him before 8am.

Also - have you heard that "pretty women give birth to girls"? "Women described as ugly at the age of 7 have a 56% chance of having a boy".

Cossie Isn't putting those baby clothes away making you want another one? Grin

silv Your MIL is an asshat and you need a break from her. 7 day house ban I think.

fanny So glad to hear you're having a lovely time.

OP posts:
Cosmosis · 30/11/2010 08:53

yay fanny was flight tolerable?? Thank heavens for all the lovely clothes you passed on as Artie is currently looking stunning in them Grin

alps yes but not enough to make me do something stupid Wink

yay, feshes are ugly as well as evil. Feushes??

FannyPriceless · 30/11/2010 09:04

cossy Yes we are all FEUSHes. Except you of course.

Flight was... well, let's just say our two weren't the worst behaved on the plane - which is all you can hope for really. Also the 24 hour stopover at the Hong Kong airport hotel was very weird. You can't explain jet lag to a toddler. Hence MrP and Bonnie traipsing around HKG in pyjamas from 2am - 5am.Hmm

Very glad the clothes are proving useful!Grin

alpie How is the 2WOOFL going? Can you beat me for age gap?

AlpinePony · 30/11/2010 10:03

fanny Because this is our first month of trying, it's all hunky-dory and nobody's getting upset. Check back in a month! Wink

OkieCokie · 30/11/2010 10:45

Yay for FP - veh jealous of the heat you are "suffering"

Alps I am with you on the prints - bleurgh. My Boden attire is more like this and I don't have a full wardrobe of Boden!

While we are talking clothes I am on the hunt for a decent winter, waterproof coat with a hood and can't find one. Any suggestions? I did wonder about this but the arms look well long. Any suggestions/recommendations?

AlpinePony · 30/11/2010 13:31

cunty My child won't read the baby books and this morning I discovered him sleeping on his tummy. Was Rastus this difficult too and refusing to listen to medical professionals?

OP posts:
reginaMonologue · 30/11/2010 13:35

Ok a brief one from me as baby about to squawk - anyone got views on formula - recommendations as am after as I fed up of being a sleep deprived cow hooked up to milking machine 24/7, literally.

All well here - see mommamilk.co.uk for birth events.

Stupid iPhone typing sucks!

Hi everyone btw - thx alpinepony for slapping sense into me as always :-)

AlpinePony · 30/11/2010 13:52

Can I just point out that I didn't actually physically harm reggie, although next time I see her I will be putting her in a headlock. Grin

OP posts:
Cosmosis · 30/11/2010 14:08

alps, i assume he can therefore roll over, in which case tummy sleeping ok, no?
