stac yep, probably just her jabs but keep an eye on her temperature thru the day

Ponders whether quoting 14months at tsc was actually helpful ((kicks self in head))

mlic, chulita and other mothers of toddler you tried brio? It's like crack cocaine for toddlers. F got a brio train set for his birthday and goes off into his room and plays with it for ages ON HIS OWN!

It's either that or his undercarriage.

thanks cakes i will do.

we went to baby cinema, was nice to go to the pics and take r with me, it was sleepless in seattle which i havent saw and missed the end as had to go get J.they brought tea and were so helpful would go again

Thats typical tsc you think your doing well and the kids shoot you down.

Anyone doing anything for bonfire night? Its pissing here and i so cant be arsed lmao x

That really annoys me too tsc and I haven't even bought a playmobile police station! Its just so illogical - why would police be a boy thing?

F is too young to understand all that so at the mo his toy buggy and doll are his faves.

stac jealous you've got a proper baby cinema, we do go with F and A but just bribe them with popcorn and milk and keep our fingers crossed!

We're still braving fireworks night unless the weather gets much worse. It's quite nice when its cold as it seems like a proper nov 5th. The others may think differently but I've already made the soup so we're going, goddammit!

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/11/2010 21:34

stac that sounds like fun! I wish we had something like that round here, I looked it up online and my nearest one is a 45 min drive away.

Dylan went down at 8:30pm tonight! Def no nap after 5pm anymore.

Has anyone got any ideas of what they want for the LO at xmas? Ive got family members asking me what to get for Dylan and I have no idea what he'd be using at nearly 6 months old.

stac14 · 05/11/2010 22:06

it was good, i didnt know anything about it violet found out about it.

dh my mil asked that, i just said toys in that age range and clothes from 6-9mths upwards other than that i have no clue lol

cakes how were the fireworks?

OP posts:
Needle · 05/11/2010 22:25

dh i'm desperately trying to get hold of some weebles for Gwen, but so far no luck. I bought her a Sophie la giraffe yesterday and she absolutely loves that, perhaps you could ask someone for one of those?

This is not a good Friday night. My dh's annoying friend is wallopped and has invited himself over to sleep. Where, I don't know as we're living in the kitchen and 1 bedroom and have no other furniture. I am watching In The Night Garden with my three month old baby on the I player, in a desperate attempt to get her to sleep. She's as happy as Larry, she just won't sleep.

You know what though? With the whole of London at my disposal, I wouldn't be anywhere else. I just wish my uninvited houseguest was.

CakeandRoses · 05/11/2010 23:35

Good idea to share present ideas needle/stac. Will add Sophie to A's list.

A won't need much as we still have everything from F as they're so close in age.

One thing worth having is a good pushalong walker - F adored his from about 9 months.

The other thing F used every day to play with, teeth on and suck on was a wooden pram string like this. It would keep him quiet in the pram for hours while I shopped in peace Grin.

Book are always great to get as presents as they'll last for years. We started reading a bedtime story to F at about 3 months, he was oblivious then but now really loves books - every morning he gets all 150 (i counted them as I put them all back the other day Hmm) of his books out of his bookcase and will sit in the middle of the pile 'reading' to himself. If you're new to children's books then I really recommend Julia Donaldson/Axel Schleffler's books - especially The Gruffalo. The Hairy Maclary books are fun too.

The fireworks were nice but not a patch on Greenwich's where we used to watch them. A slept thru it all and F was a bit scared so not really a success in all in all! We enjoyed it tho, esp the cake afterwards!

Hope you manage to lose your visitor soon needle!

CakeandRoses · 05/11/2010 23:37

needle any good? pair of weebles

Needle · 05/11/2010 23:58

cake, that listing is out of date- thank you, but I've already tried to buy them and apparently they're out of stock.

Visitor is gone, thank goodness!

stac14 · 06/11/2010 00:13

Spirael · 06/11/2010 08:11

Just a quick post as I'm leaving to visit the ILs for the weekend soon (I'm lucky enough to get on really well with my ILs)... But M loves her Sophie the Giraffe too. :)

She received this for her naming ceremony and adores both the giraffe and the rattle. She's not too bothered with the teether yet, but it does make the changing bag smell deliciously of vanilla. Grin

I'm still looking for Christmas ideas for her too... I'm possibly thinking of a jewellery box at the moment, as she was given some pretty bits of jewellery for her Naming Ceremony and currently has no-where to put them.

Spirael · 06/11/2010 08:15

You can't have my giraffe-!

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/11/2010 09:19

stac omg how scary! That would have given me a fright too.

Dylan woke up every 2 hours again last night, I def think its a growth spurt cos he seems to be doing it in the day too.

Im looking forward to my lunch with DP though, will he propose today? I hope so!

memphis83 · 06/11/2010 11:42

morning peeps!!! went out last night...my head hurts...a.lot!! dh went work at 8 and i had to be mummy again!!
cakes GP wont do anything, ive now seen 3 different ones and none are bothered, im going back to see another one this week,i think i need beta blockers or something, my heart races so much my head bobs about!!
dh i got lyndon one of those walkers they sit in with wheels its a car makes car noises and has furry dice!! look on amazon at Lamaze toys they are fab he has puppytunes and sir prance a lot for xmas and already has captain calamari!! also vtech toy seem really nice, i second the gruffalo book, ive ased for some retro toys from my childhood too, a paddington bear and hungry caterpillar and hand puppets L loves them!!!oh shit just read that back, im turning him into a spoilt brat!!

CakeandRoses · 06/11/2010 12:34

memphis well done for persevering. Makes me so cross how hard they're made this for you. Could you take dh along to help?

mlic Nice one on the sleep front! Grin

It kinda goes right thru you when you hear your dc with a bad cough, doesn't it?

Where are you going tonight and who's baby-sitting?

We've finally got a proper Italian restaurant open in our town - we already have tons of restaurants but the 'Italian' ones are all chains like zizzi. I was going to see if my father could baby-sit but then realised I'm more in the mood for collapsing on the sofa with dh, a curry, wine and x-factor tonight!

I've just bravely uploaded some pics to the fb group - I'm waiting to see if any of my non-mn friends comment on them, in which case i'll disappear them again (the pics not the friends!)

tsc how was soft-play? murder? I hate the ruddy things but they are useful as a last resort. I loved the recent thread on here about what a middle class soft play place would be like, it was meant to be funny and tongue in cheek, tho of course this being MN, bitching and snobbery was rife. It all sounded miles nicer than the usual bright, loud, plasticky, dirty places tho!

stac14 · 06/11/2010 13:09

fecking men, why does dp go on all week bout spending time with us to want to feck off to his mums. I was expected to go but i am fed up spending my weekends there. Now instead he has went and wants to go back later with R. Argh pain in my ass, who said family time meant being in his mums. Soz ladies rant over.

memphis when you see the gp explain you feel ignored and are considering contacting the post natal mental health team. I am so annoyed bout the way your being treated. In fact if you do have a post natal mental health team in your area you can self refer and they would defo help x

OP posts:
memphis83 · 06/11/2010 14:14

cakes dh wouldnt be able to come, he works all over the place so is never near, a local job for him is 100 miles away. when i was pg i had to have a heart trace and untrasounds, one of meds i take can effect heart so this is why i am pushing it now, dont want heart to give out when im on my own with L!!
stac bloody men indeed, no wonder you had a rant!! dh's mum babysat last night, i was expected to buy flowers for her, my mum does itonce ot twice a wek and doesnt get anything!!
