sounds like my grocery order Blush last week the same delivery guy came as the week prior and I had ordered 12 bottles of wine both times (not drunk them all in a week just filling up the wine rack)but I'm sure the deliv guy think's we do!

DeidreBarlow · 16/11/2010 13:15

Oh summer that is so funny about DSGrin. Oh and my DS NEVER eats veg anymore, well the other day he bit a carrot stick because DD was eating them. He is really hard work, fruit he eats apples/grapes/pears but thats about it.

Rubes get the LED runner...in fact I think I'm going to get oneBlush.

urbane How's the hangover??

Well DD had her first parent's evening last night. Apparently I have a very bright, confident and articulate little girl. Or in other words she is a right bossy little madam who never shuts up! I'm really very proud of her, she was only 4 in August and I did worry about her settling in being the youngest but no need to worrySmile.

Right, I really must get back to work.

SummerLightning · 16/11/2010 13:35

Hehe rubes maybe I should get some more I only got 5 bottles of wine

Deirdre ds is good with fruit but no veg at all. Funny thing is he shouts with excitement at carrots or broccoli but won't eat them. I think he is proud foe knowing what they are called

SummerLightning · 16/11/2010 13:38

Oh and dieds that is lovely about your dd! Bless her.
iPad just wanted to call you diodes diedre! Oh blooming he'll i can't spell it. It's deidre isn't it

Rubena · 16/11/2010 13:46

Summer!!! You get an additional 5% off if you get 6 bottles!! Must get 6 or 12 - get 12 stock up, tis the season to be jolly.

Well done toddlerdeids Smile

well ds is being really weird today. Went in his bed at 11 like he wanted to but not sure if / how long he slept and opened door at 1145, yelled out, closed door again, and he has done that roughly every 30-60 mins since but not sure if he's slept in between or playing, and not sure why he's not screaming to come out? Odd, very odd. need a monitor with camera.

Rubena · 16/11/2010 13:48

Oh God, this Royal wedding chit chat isn't going to end until the wedding is it. They've already done it to death!!!

Rubena · 16/11/2010 13:48

Hope you are all pleased with my return to rambling...

spotofcheerfulness · 16/11/2010 13:50

Hi folks sorry gonna have to do a post and run - had a bit of a dramatic day yesterday, ended up in host twice, once for me and once for T (bleeding for me and bad fever and rash for T).
Luckily neither too serious - T has another virus and ear infection, he's completely unable to sleep in the day or night but docs keen to avoid antibios as he's had so many they reckon it might have weakened his immunity anyway. So we're treating with paracetamol and ibuprofen but it's quite scary, when they wear off he just shakes and his temp goes back to 40 and there's nothing we can do until they kick in again.
I'm ok, they can't work out exactly why I'm bleeding but they've taken swab in case of potential infection. I am cacking myself about going into early labour though. I just feel like this one will be super early.

I actually wanted to come on and say thank you so much to Lady for the CD and food fact sheets and little smelly sachets. You are so thoughtful to others even though you're barely hanging on in there and I am incredibly touched. Will have a listen tonight, T permitting.

Sorry no personals, I need to get back to hot and cross T, but will do proper catch up when I have some more time. Love to all.

DeidreBarlow · 16/11/2010 13:52

Do you reckon they have table runners at the Palace?

Perhaps we should get one as a wedding gift for Kate & WillsGrin

Rubena · 16/11/2010 14:49

Went and got ds. He couldn't sleep I think because he was totally overheating Sad stupid radiator had gone mental. Wish they'd hurry and fix it soon. seems ok now but I think he's got a bit of a fever and his eyes were all stuck together Sad
I'm feeling really crap myself I just can't shake this cold.

Hi Spot my gosh you are just copping it all. I'm so glad everything was ok with the bleed and hope baby hangs in there. poor T, it sounds really scary. I was just scared about ds then as I was thinking about poor T when I went and got him from bed and he was a mess and wanted to be carried (he NEVER wants to be carried) it's just never ending isn't it. I can't believe how well you are coping even though you think you aren't. Youve had such a hard time with T for the last 2 years really and now coping with all this while pregnant. Things have got to turn a corner soon. You've had your fair share that's for sure.

Deids, I'll bet they do yes Grin Right, I might have to look for a longer LED table runner as it's quite small - or get two. You get one too Deids and we'll both be very cool

JollyBear · 16/11/2010 14:58

Hello everyone,

arti Thanks for sharing about your urine protein in pregnancy, it is reassuring to hear that 'normal' people can get these problems too. It is protein they are concerned about, plus my iron levels are really low and they think there must be some blood loss in my system. It was 8.4 on my last test, no wonder I'm feeling tired.

Oh and on the Christmas decs issue, I feel that is would be nicer to leave it till after DD's birthday (15th), however DH is very insistant that it would be mean not to put them up earlier. People I've spoken to with December birthdays felt as children that putting up the tree meant their birthday was very close and found it exciting. What is everyone else doing?

PD We used to live in Newton in Bowland which is a teeny tiny place near Dunsop Bridge. I was once recognised in the village pub as a 'local' despite having left the place when I was 4! It is that sort of place!

Summer DH and I disagree on certain aspects of parenting. E.g. I'd rather distract her out of unwelcome behaviour rather than give her a telling off. It helped that my friend who is a psychologist was telling him that studies have shown that harsh discipline doesn't end up with a better behaved child and that it takes many years for a child to learn conscequences. Would a book help your DH to understand your point of view? I think kiwi recommended one a while ago on fussy eaters.

spot Oh poor you, what a dramatic day. Remind me how many weeks you are? Is it January you are due? Did the hospital give you any idea what else it could be? T's fever sounds really unpleasant. Is he settling down at all?

DB Well done to your DD. What a star!

Right, back to work.

SummerLightning · 16/11/2010 15:36

Spot sorry that sounds awful. Poor little t he is not really having much luck is he? Hope he feels better soon as sounds very scary.

When are you due again? Is it new year? Fingers crossed for no early baby!

Jolly yes, a book is a good idea. Need to find one that is a good compromise tho as too lenient style and he will brand it hippy parenting and dismiss it. Have borrowed Gina ford toddler book from friend. Not sure she knows much bout toddlers probably just cashing in on baby books but at least dh will not brand her hippy!

JollyBear · 16/11/2010 15:53

summer You'd have to check it first that you agree with the principles I suppose! Did DH eat well as a child? My MIL is from the praise and reward school of food and my saving grace is that DH was a terrible eater as a child. He knows from experience that being chivvied and coaxed to eat didn't work with him. MIL used to have pureed jars of Heinz Shepherd's Pie on standby in case DH didn't eat his tea, when he was of school age Shock.

MABS · 16/11/2010 16:43

you ok Spot? you coming for brighton meetup 4 Dec? xx

traceface · 16/11/2010 19:44

who is MABS? Am I being dense?

DeidreBarlow · 16/11/2010 19:46

spot How's T now, still the same? Poor little man has had a right crappy time of late, as have you. I'm sure the bleeding is nothing but do all you can to take it easy. I am thinking of you x

VagolaJahooli · 16/11/2010 19:51

I think she is prob a friend of Spots from the Brighton MNers. She maybe trying to get our spot along to their meetup, which of course would be a good thing for both Spot and the Brighton ladies.

I'm shattered, DH is out playing basketball tonight, the boys are in bed now. I took them for a long ride out to a big park woods area here which was great fun but I'm.so tired now. Watching a stupid movie. Yawn.

I cant really remember anything I've read from the thread just now. I'm supposed to be going to a hen do tomorrow night but I'm just so tired.

DeidreBarlow · 16/11/2010 19:51

Not sure Trace...maybe she knows spot from another threadConfused

VagolaJahooli · 16/11/2010 19:53

Oh god of course Spot, the bleeding and Ts temp. you poor Bugger, I think you probably need a good rest. is DP pitching in.

traceface · 16/11/2010 20:03

spot so sorry about your hospital trips and rubbish day. Is T getting any follow up then, or was there any mention of allergy testing? I'm so sorry you're having all these health worries.
deidre well done to dd! You have every right to be a Proud Mummy.
JB sorry to hear of your kidney worries. I also had protein in my pee and for me it was pre-eclampsia. Kidney function was up the wall when I was ill having dd1, but all returned to normal and was fine through pregnancy with dd2. Really hope you get some reassuring news. Does your history put you at risk of complications or would it just be an unlucky coincidence?
Rubs I MUCH prefer the rambles to the bullet points. Keep it up!
veggie sorry you're feeling a bit low too. Sounds like you're doing lots to keep yourself out and about.
Urb I forgot to say thanks for the link to that Linden site. How's the hangover? How are you feeling today?
Arti yes I'm still having the CBT and finding it very helpful. Have you started your therapy yet? I think of you every time any one mentions vomit!
Things are much the same here. Stayed in and went to bed early last night instead of going to choir, and was just really tearful. Today I had a good day at work and felt better, but this evening just want to cry again and crawl into bed. Not decided whether to speak to GP/ CPN yet as I don't want to make a fuss. I had planned to see a friend and her LO tomorrow but I've text her and cancelled. Anyway, sorry to go on.
Hope you've had good days and hope the LOs allow lots of sleep for you all tonight.

JamInMyWellies · 16/11/2010 20:40

Trace please contact your GP or CPN. Thinking of you and sending you lots of love.

SPot buggering nora you are having a tough time. Love to you too.

Vaggie whoop whoop on the house.

Rubes I know you will appreciate this. While out walking the dog today he spotted a couple and their 5 vvvv well behaved labs 2 fields away and legged it. Then I had to abandon the children in the middle of the field while DS2 was screaching and run for it trying to catch him. They then shouted to me not to worry they would bring him back. Blush We meet up and my trator of a dog and their dogs are all sitting beautifully while the man does some sort of mind control over them all. I offered him to them but they laughed. Then got home and DS2 managed to knock a picture of the wall smashing the frame to smithereens.

Oh and does anyone know anything about hand foot and mouth disease? I think DS2 has it. Spots over his groin and hands, and round his mouth and he is complaining if anything textured goes in his mouth. He has it doesnt he and I am meant to be driving to Scotland on Sunday with all my family. My DSIS who has her PFB with her will freak out. DO you think if it is he will be ok by Sun and I can go and just keep quiet about it? DOne a bit of googling and it looks like 3 - 4 days for it to clear up.

notjustanumber · 16/11/2010 21:06

Hi,

Sorry it has been so long again. I have been polaxed at work and at home. Dont ever agree to work condensed hours over 4 days, because I feel like I cant refuse to do anything and its a bugger, recently I have had to work my arse off (sadly not literally!)

And at home I got fed up of doing everything at home and have been trying to get a cleaner. The fear of having a stranger in the house has made DH do the washing up a bit more frequently and generally pick up after himself which is a bit of a bonus.

DB sorry to hear of your grandad, I hope your Nan is OK. And urbane I hope you are OK too. And that Spots T is ill again, poor thing, I hope he gets well soon.

Lady, shredding is a weight loss DVD that you are supposed to do for 20 mins every day. I can be arsed to do 20mins but not every day, so I usually do it every other. Dont know about the weight loss but certainly toning successfuly which is kind of what I wanted, I'm starting to feel old and flabby and I want to be fit again before I am a really old fart. But I am a lazy arse when it comes to it.

SL sorry to hear you felt down, I'm with you on that one, this last weekend I really wanted everyone to go away and leave me so I could read a book. And then preferably go out for some female company. The boys are only young but sometimes the testosterone round here is terrible. Please come and visit me if you would like, there is loads to do here (well kind of). Two small ones is tiring at this time of year and mine havent adapted to the clocks changing well at all.
I always feel down at this time of year. I dont mind the cold, its the dark I dislike. I wish we didnt have to changed the clocks.

Beans and rubes I love reading your posts, beans I think you express quite well things I feel quite often in a very funny way. I dont have time to contribute much right now but I do love to read them, sometimes they make me laugh out loud.

Anyway, I best get on with it. Before I go though, dont use the gingerbread house recipie in Rachel Allens bake book. The recipe is OK but the templates are all wrong and the pieces dont fit together which majorly pissed me off last year after the massive effort it involved up till that point. I mean, WTF in a published book, the couldnt be arsed to check it ? We had to cut them into shapes and deliver a load of the spare ones to a neighbour(they gave us a bottle of wine in return so I think we got a better deal!)

I am rambling now, take care trace, veg hope you get your house.

MABS · 16/11/2010 21:55

i have met Spot several times in RL,have txt her and had no reply which is unusual. Was just concerned she ok, sorry to intrude, didn't realise this thread was an exclusive club.

JamInMyWellies · 16/11/2010 22:23

Not atall MABS. New posters are always welcome.

EffiePerine · 16/11/2010 22:50

Spot: I'm sorry you're having all this worry and stress :(. You're due on DS2's birthday, I think - 1 Jan?

Mabs: no need to get in a huff, we're easily confused by possible name changes Grin.

I need to get to bed, but I reckon we need to wheel out the yurt or whatever it was to look after everyone and their littlies. Partners welcome if they can cook/clean/chop wood or otherwise make themselves useful.
