Glad you're getting some help bananastew and sorry to hear about your Grandma, hope she is feeling better soon.

It really depends on how warm your house is newmum1 but generally in winter you should be using the 2.5Tog ones. It really helped my ds1 sleep but Luke is very happy under his blanket at the moment so I haven't bothered. Ds1 didn't sleep anywhere other than at home until he was over 1 so I know how you feel but try to enjoy your night out!

Good luck MammyG hope you have a lovely time Grin

Sounds like my boys sassy34264, both took bottles straight away (although with ebm), ds1 always drained them and Luke has had 3oz and then 4oz. Perhaps get dp to try Isobel with a bottle, I have always been at least in another room when mine have had bottles. It might help if she can't smell you.

Glad you had a good day Dixiebell, Luke went to bed at 7 last night and slept until 1.15 and then 7.15 it really does make you feel revitalised but the huge boobs aren't good!

Newmum001 Lucy stopped sleeping in her moses basket about 6 weeks ago. We use a mamas and papas carrycot on a stand and she started sleeping right through, until last might. I think the base of the moses basket can be too soft whereas the pram is firmer. She has sleeping bags as well. You need a 2.5 tog atm as it is so cold. Lucy has a vest and babygro and long sleeves vests are brill for the really bitter nights. we sometimes use a sheet as well as she likes the feeling of being tucked in. Look on Ebay for some used ones as they can be upto £30 and if they don't work that is a lot to spend.

newmum Minw wriggly like that with their arms doing kong fu chops when they have wind. It wakes them up too. I just pick them up and rub their backs and they usually do a burp straight away. It does sometimes take lots of burps before they settle down. Mine are also 2.5 togs.

My putting them to bed didn't work and after 2 hours of going up and down, i gave up and went to bed and then spent the next 2 hours feeding them and winding them all over again. Midnight before they were both settled. I give up. It just makes me aggravated. Also for the last 2 nights Jacob has just puked and puked and puked and just when i think right he can't possibly puke anymore he will go to sleep now, he starts off with his hungry cry and looking right at me and opening his mouth. So then we have to start all over again.

sassy34264 · 24/11/2010 10:02

Mine wriggle even!

beaditAli · 24/11/2010 10:42

Mmmm mammyg a hotel for 3 nights.... sounds lurverly! Enjoy.
Dixie and newmum Jack also loves standing. I think he's already showing off how tall and strong he is!
banana Hope you're ok. Sending lots of Smiles and happiness your way.
Jack has the dreaded cold and is struggling to feed though the nigh before last slept amazingly well. I guess due to the fact he'd worn himself out during the day. Struggled a bit to feed in the night so has now been fast asleep having tummy time for the last 2 - 3 hours. Still has his flattening which is really worrying me Confused should it be??

Ha ha ... he just stuck his fingers straight in his ear! Grin arrrgggggh AWAKE and HUNGRY!!! c yaaaaaaaaaaa

cinnamongreyhound · 24/11/2010 11:15

Looks like your DH was right about spreading his cold then beaditAli!!! I wouldn't worry, my ds1 had a flat head until he started sitting on his own it is perfectly normal now! Luke doesn't seem to favour one side of his head for laying on so his is still round at the moment!

beaditAli · 24/11/2010 12:46

Urgh......... why are some people just so horrid? The bloddy receptionist at our Docs surgery is just the pits I swear! You'd think it's so easy to get a Dr to see your baby but not where I live! You have to ring before 8am to get your appointment apparently... Hmm don't bambinos get seen asap?
I know it's no emergency but Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaanting away to myself.
Also, when I needed an appointment for me last year she was uber rude so I said I'd call back in in the morning and she barked back that 'no you won't love coz it's Saturday' Shock even attempted to tell me that it sounded like I just had a cold and swollen glands...... div! 4 tumors in my neck more like! Totally benign as it turns out so no sympathies please but what place does the receptionist have to attempt to diagnose???
The hospital still thinks Jack was born a day later than he really was [shock[ Confused
Right............ moaning over...... the little man is being a delight today and don't the smiles at this age just make you melt?! Might try cartwheels tomorrow with our 9 week old going on 3 year old Wink

beaditAli · 24/11/2010 12:47

ha that's how mad I am! I mean bloody not bloody bloddy!

cinnamongreyhound · 24/11/2010 13:03

Smiles are magic!! I took one of our cats to the vets on Monday, dh was late home from work but insisted on taking the dog out before I went so he could sit down and relax and not have to go out again. But he still took her for her normal length walk, didn't take his phone or keys. As I was going to be late I asked my neighbour to have the boys for 5 mins and left her dh keys, she's my best friend so we are constantly in each others houses. For back from vets 35mins later to find him and dog in garage with a very angry face, he had t even thought to try next door and thought I'd take a 3 year old and 10 week old with me while carrying cat!!! I was explaining how stupid he'd been in a slightly raised voice and he was holding Luke who was smiling hugely at me and all I could do was smile back and forgot how angry I was! Whoops that ended up being long!!

sassy34264 · 24/11/2010 13:15

Just had to wake Jacob up for a feed cos he has been asleep since did school run this morning and he has thrush in his mouth again. Saw it and burst into tears. Don't think i'm strong enough to go through it again. Going to ring doctors in a minute and try and pre empt it. I've not got any pains yet- luckily.

cinnamongreyhound · 24/11/2010 13:40

:(

newmum001 · 24/11/2010 15:19

BeaditAli, ALL the receptionists at my doctors are rude! The first time i took Grace she left me standing at the desk for 10 minutes while Grace was screaming and everyone was looking before the old lady behind me started yelling at her for ignoring us while she was doing sod all but talking to her mate about weight watchers.

Got my own back though as the receptionists neighbour came in for her appointment and started going on and on about how much weight the receptionist had lost and said "well with ur husband upping and leaving you for a younger woman i suppose eating is the last thing on your mind" and went on and on about it while the receptionist was trying desperately to change the subject and looking mortified as i sat there smiling sweetly and loving every minute of it! Now dont get me wrong i know it's a horrible thing to happen to anyone and i wasn't enjoying the fact that her husband had left her. Just how incredibly embarrassed she looked.

Sassy, i think i might try putting the big pram bit onto the stand tonight and see if that helps, although it seems narrower than the moses basket. It might be a bit cosier thouugh i suppose.

Grace now weighs 12lb 13oz!!

JodeyLea · 24/11/2010 15:22

Sassy you poor thing. Good job you spotted it. Hope you manage to get it under control before it gets any worse.

Me & Harlyn went to a play group yesterday. It was madness with loads of toddlers running riot. So funny. My LO just slept through it all. I went because a lady who was on the same ward as me told me about it. She was there so it was great to catch up and compare notes.

New mum, we have been having similar problems with Harlyn. There isn't much room in his moses basket as he is quite long and we too can't fit his cotbed in our room. We manage to get him off to sleep in his moses basket at night but he wakes up (not for a feed) just thrashing around between 3-4am and then the only way I can get him off to sllep again is to put him in our bed, but then I don't sleep!!! Though last night he went down at 11:30 and didn't wake up till 7am so who knows!!!

7wks + 5

beaditAli · 24/11/2010 15:33

Thanks newmum I was feeling bad about such a moan. Glad it's not just me tho sorry that there's yet another misery guts out there.
Jackington is snoozing on his silly little flat head again Grin There's only so much time I can sit and have him asleep on me.
DH had a gorgeous idea for a Christmas pressie last night. He wants to write Jack his own story book about some of the daft things he's done so far. He's a graphic designer so can come up with some cutesy illustrations too. Thought I'd share the idea incase any of feel like being creative....... clumsy? Smile

Ohmy..... now I'm clock watching for Are You Smarter Than A Ten Year Old to start. How very Sad of me. Smile

bananastew · 24/11/2010 16:29

thanks everyone.

beadit ds1 had/has a flat head at its worst it was like a cliff. I saw a consultant who said it should right itself by the time he goes to school. Its much much better now & only very slightly noticable when his hair is wet. There's no need to wory but its perfectly ok to! you're his mummy, its what we do!

Sassy [sad} can't give any advice as a ff but you poor thing!

I think i'm going to try olly in the bumbo! he's a bit young but won't settle unless he's sat up on my knee & I can't do this all day!!!

Can't give any advice on the sleeping either cos i'm a terrible mum & let him sleep on his tummy. He settles himself & sleeps really well cos he doesn't jerk himself awake. If I dare to put him on his back he just screams! he went from his dream feed at from 10pm-6:30am lastnight!!! Grin

bellabelly · 24/11/2010 16:38

Thanks for nice comments from everyone yesterday. Have cut down on pumping to tice a day and feel so much saner already. Lucy woke at 3am and I breastfed her then - did make me think it'd be nice to carry onbeing ale to do that rather than having to make up a bottle. Anyway, just feling far less stressed, so thanks all Smile

I have just applied hair dye to cover my greys and it is STINGING MY HEAD! Have decided I'd rather put up with a sore scalp than wash it all straight off again... I thought I'd feel happier if I started making a bit more effort with my appearance Hmm

We're completing on our new house tomorrow - at last! Had originally hoped to be in before the girls arrived... We won't move in now until new year - but I am looking forward to going round tomorrow for another look and to get sme quotes from decorators. And DH is off work tomorrow too, hoorah.

sassy - fingers crossed you've caught the thrush early enough to avoid it this time. God I feel for you, last thing you need.

clumsymumluckybaby · 24/11/2010 19:04

hi guys!Smile
anyone elses babys already in 3-6 months?!
or is arlo an off the scale fatty?![grin
he's just sooo long!
i didnt have this with dd at all,she was still in 3-6 months when she was 7 months old!

also his constant vomiting 'positing'
has turned a lurid yellow! any ideas why?
was it that glass of wine i had yesterday...BlushGrin

Dixiebell · 24/11/2010 19:54

Clumsy, my Arlo's just about in 3-6 too and he's 7 weeks Hmm. Do you know Arlo's length? Mine was 59cm at 6 wk check.

Bloody doctors today - Arlo is 8 weeks on Monday and I hadn't had an appointment through for his vaccinations, so called and they said oh yeah, we'll book him in! But first appt not for another 3 weeks. Receptionist assured me this was fine, but he'll be 11 weeks by then! Really peed off, what if I hadn't phoned them? They're so rubbish, when I was preggers they managed to lose my bloods meaning I never got them tested, and they recently lost DH's referral for an important scan. Both turned out fine, but would never have got sorted if we hadn't chased up ourselves, and what if there had been problems with the results for either of us, the delay could have been v.costly.

JodeyLea · 24/11/2010 20:08

3-6 clothes already? My gosh. Harlyn was 58cm at his 6 week check and he's still in 0-3. 3-6 swamps him. Was really sad today when I put away his first size clothes Sad.

We have our first vaccinations on Monday. Really not looking forward to that!

sassy34264 · 24/11/2010 20:08

Thanks for your support everyone. I have an appointment tomorrow at 10.50am. Isn't it wierd how your mood can change throughout the day. Was good this morning and then i saw inside Jacob's mouth, and now just received a text from DP saying 'this is your hours notice'. (he always sends me a text when he is an hour away from being home) So happy, he is off now for 11 whole days. :)

So sorry about you all having trouble with the docs. My old docs was a nightmare to get an appointment, it was usually 2 weeks wait (although i couldn't fault the service) this one is brill with next day appointments. My last one had 5 docs and this one only has 1! go figure.

beaditAli · 24/11/2010 22:07

Wow... Jack really is a beanstalk! He was 59cms at birth! He's now 17ft 99cms Grin
clumsy I've been chopping the toes out of all his clothes for the last 6 weeks. The problem is even though he needs 3-6 in length, the width just swamp him. I've been buying romper suits on ebay as they're footless. Loads of second hand Gap ones but now I've told you I'll have competition on bidding Confused
sassy big Grin when I read your post. Really, really pleased for you and DP. Enjoy! Smile

beaditAli · 24/11/2010 22:16

JodeyLea He might surprise you. Jack squealed for about 40 seconds then smiled at the nurse that had stabbed him in the legs! Confused Think it was her glasses so perhaps take a pair with you and ask her kindly to model them for the duration. Might work? Hmm Hee hee

Debs75 · 25/11/2010 08:16

dixie don't panic about the vaccs. They don't have to be taken at exactly 8, 12 and 16 weeks. Our dr said it was from when you only had 12 weeks mat leave so dc's were at nursery earlier. dc3 had hers at 12, 17 and 23 weeks and they said she is covered.

Lucy is now in 3-6 as her reusable nappies bulk her out a bit. She has grown loads since birth tho
