We are totally spread out! I'm between Leeds and Halifax. Really near the massive blue and yellow furniture store we all know and love on the M62.
Don't watch soaps either but what happened to Max? I do remember him.
Taking Jack on his first date to the curry house with Daisy..... our neighbours 4 week old. We are already partnering them for life! Jack and Daisy sitting in a tree....... Grin
Jack has started doing his messy ones every day now which awful as i'd got used to once every two. Hmm
HAPPY FRIDAY!

bellabelly · 12/11/2010 14:11

Gosh, thread has moved fast since yesterday! Well, we survived the frst jabs although the girls screamed horribly, poor things. Lucy settled down for a long sleep as soon as we got home but Charlotte was really upset for much of the afternoon. Think she swallowed so much air with all her crying that it gave her bad wind. I was a bit irritated that the doc didn't weigh and measure them - I questioed it and he said the HV should have done it last week. But she told me that HE would do it when I asked!!! Anyway, don't suppose it matters much really, I just can't be bothered to make a special trip in the rain to the baby clinic...

MammyG, son number 2 has been acting u something terrible earlier - just as I was trying to get everyone into teh car to take the boys to nursery. I lost my rag with him big time, I'm afraid. Supernanny would not have been impressed with me! So now I'm sitting here feeling guilty but sometimes they just know which buttons to push!

Weird but nice thing this morning - Charlotte was laugin for the first time! No idea what was amusing her Confused! It's weird because Lucy has always been the more interactive one - making eye contact, smiling etc. But it was such a nice little laugh, I hope she does it again soon when DH is around to hear.

Just realised your girls were born the same day as Luke bellabelly Grin

Hi all,

It's been ages since I've been on mn - our broadband wasn't working AGAIN. We've finally given up and are switching providers. Smile I haven't got time to catch up on everything I've missed, just hope everyone is doing well... I have missed you.

Chelle, saoirse Louis doesn't sleep much during the day. He's been getting much grumpier, I think due to tiredness so I've been trying really hard to get him to take proper naps, but even when I can see he's tired it's hard to get him to sleep except on me, and if I do manage to get him down in his basket he always wakes up after 30-40 mins or so, unless we're out with him in the buggy/sling/car. Even then he always wakes up within seconds of us getting home.

sassy - I think I cried at the same advert. Since having Louis I've become a complete softie. It's so unlike me, I almost never cry normally, even when I was pregnant. Now every time Louis grins at me I forget what I'm thinking and melt inside. Blush

comixminx · 12/11/2010 16:55

I'm in Oxford, don't think anyone else on the thread is nearby.

Cinnamon - yes I know! How do you feel about the 13th? I'm not really superstitious but I was glad that it was a Monday rather than a Friday 13th this year! Grin

sassy - I meant to say, I think I know which ad you mean too and I had a tear welling up too - but I thought she did have milk! I was thinking how amazing the human body is that it can make milk even when times are desperately hard. Maybe you are right though, either way, so very sad. Things like that definitely hit me 100% harder since having kids. Not that I was particularly callou and uncaring before, I hasten to add! It just gets you when you can empathise as a parent I think.

watersprite · 12/11/2010 17:11

Really tired today Maria-Ann was awake from 3am till 7am. She had the night feed at 10.30 but after this just would not settle, she seems to be farting like a trooper and there quite load at times. Think the unsettled belly is what kept her up most of the night. Really hopeing that tonight is much better :)

Would love the weather not to be so windy and raining all the time so I can take her out in the parm, this seems to settle her.

mellymooks · 12/11/2010 17:54

comix I'm near Gloucester so about an hr from Oxford!

I'm feeling a bit better today, realising I can cope with two and still give my DD the attention she needs whilst meeting the needs of Flynn, he does get put down alot more than she did and I can't always rush to him the second he cries but I'm starting to realise that is ok and that that is part of it not being my first baby.

MammyG · 12/11/2010 18:06

Got out this morning and had tea with another mum, nice morning. DS2 has tested my patience all afternoon - he is still alive tho so it must be love! Hes even taken to peeing in his pants again - 5 changes yesterday! he wasnt great before but is woeful now. third change today-dont now what to do.
am a bit down today - family crap. Just want to tell them to shag off and let me revel in my little girl. going to start planning xmas tonight to cheer myself up! It will be our first without dad and I cant even skive off to DH's family - have to spend it with mine. But for rest of the hols am going to cocoon with my lovely family and plan a really cosy intimate (inexpensive!) xmas.
Thanks for the tip cinnamon will try it.
Bella - super nanny would have a field day round here!!

Dixiebell · 12/11/2010 18:34

I know what you all mean about reactions to things - think I did the same with that advert! I am also so much more interested in anything relating to babies than ever before! And things like the twins story in the news today and lily Allen also make me well up. DH too which I wouldn't have thought! In fact DH was really emotional just after Arlo was born which I didn't expect. He said he kept choking up when e.g. Queuing in the canteen at the hospital and thinking of us, or when he saw Arlo's name written down anywhere. He was more emotional than me in the first few days!

clumsymumluckybaby · 12/11/2010 18:50

Super nanny hates me,I was watching it tother day and I could swear she was talkibg to me.dd is a nightmare, she has totally lost the plot. And I am not dealing with it very well Blush

I'm in north hampshire, I think dixie is closest to us...same county at least! Smile

Its skyeplusarlo btw,I namechanged, because I have always been clumsy, but last week I really outdid myself!Grin

bella cinnamon

Isobel and Jacob were born on the 13th and it was a friday! Lucky now for me. Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 12/11/2010 19:30

Ds1 was due 13th April which was a Friday but was finally forced out by syntocinon on Friday 27th!! I'm not superstitious at all but my mum is, Luke's birthday will be a Friday at some point but that will make it lucky for us too Grin!

Ds1 has been super clingy since he got home from preschool today, even cried when I went to walk the dog and left him with dh :(

bananastew · 12/11/2010 20:27

Woooooooohoooooooooo! We had a sleep through Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin! Probably a one off but still very exciting!

I'm in Lincoln! We really are all spread out!

10wks 3days 12lb!

clumsymumluckybaby · 12/11/2010 20:32

I was born on Friday the 13th!Grin

Skye's been really clingy too,or the opposite, really angry, pushing me away and shouting "go away mummy!!" Its so heart breaking as I know she just wants a cuddle really Sad

Chelle1986 · 12/11/2010 21:18

Comix - I was born in the JR and lived in Oxford till I was 7. In fact I will be in Blackbird Leys next weekend! All my family still live there, mainly in Kiddlington and Kennington.

Just got back from the out of hours with Oliver - we found a rash on his chest when changing him for his 7pm feed. Doc says she thinks he's fine and the rash fade under pressure, temp normal and he seems happy enough (even though he's been grumpy all day!) - so we just have to go back in the morning to give him another once over.

Its such a pity we aren't all closer together.... Sad

Weirdly...I have actually found that I'm not as emotional as I was before I had Olly or was pregnant....pregnancy and labour must have toughened me up! Wink

mapletrees · 12/11/2010 22:23

Comix, Chelle I'm from Oxford too - lived there until I was 18. I usually go back a few times a year, but haven't been since last Christmas. I'm living in Cambridge now, so maybe relatively close to you cinnamon?

Hope Oliver's rash clears up soon Chelle.

comixminx · 12/11/2010 23:06

Chelle, maple, ironically I'm the one who's not from Oxford but lives here now - been here for more than twenty years now! My dad was born in Oxford but that's coincidental - we never lived here as a family, we lived in Glossop (near Manchester).

Melly, where near Gloucester are you? I sometimes go to near Stroud for weekends.

comixminx · 12/11/2010 23:08

Oohh, yes, and hope the rash is indeed all fine, Chelle!

cinnamongreyhound · 13/11/2010 01:16

Yes mapletrees about 35 miles, used to travel to Cambridge everyday for work. Started childminding when ds1 was 14 months as I was so miserable leaving him 5 days a week and couldn't afford to work less. Also, had the choice of the Rosy to have both my boys but dh had a terrible experience there when dss was born and I didn't want to risk Cambridge traffic while in labour! Did you go there? Lots of people think it great.

saoirse86 · 13/11/2010 11:20

sassy Orlaith also puts her arms round my neck when I carry her, I love it. She doesn't seem to do it to anyone else so I like to think it's because she loves me so much!

We had a busy day yesterday. I work for DP in his family business and had one of my "keeping in touch" days. It was nice to see everyone at work and show Orlaith off a bit. I really didn't get as much work done as I should have with all the baby chatting!
Then we went to the pub I work in with my sister and her DD. The babies got passed around all the staff and regulars like it was pass the parcel. Everyone kept telling me how beautiful Orlaith was. She did seem to be looking particularly cute yesterday, and she was really good. She stayed awake the whole time, no crying, just lots of looking at people and lights.
When we got home I found 2 letters, one inviting us to the baby club which starts in 2 weeks and last 12 weeks, and one saying someone from the local children's centre will be coming to tell me what they do there. I'm looking forward to taking her out to all these things.

MIL is having her this afternoon for a few hours so I'm going shopping for clothes as my old clothes won't be fitting for quite a while I think!

saoirse86 · 13/11/2010 11:44

I forgot to ask. Has anyone started periods again yet and when did they start.
I was producing milk for the first 3 1/2 weeks, stopped bleeding from the birth after 4 weeks and have started a light period yesterday (7 weeks). I didn't expect it this early. Sad

I'm going to put some photos on my MN profile, if I can work it out...

mapletrees · 13/11/2010 12:02

cinnamon Yes, I had Louis at the Rosie, and I have to say my experience of it was great. I had anterior placenta previa and they admitted me at 37 weeks before doing a cs at 38 so I ended up in for 10 days. The midwives on the ward were all really kind and professional and the drs were very good too. When it came to the cs I had 2 (possibly 3) consultants, a registrar, nurses, midwives (and a whole gang of students watching Blush ) as I was a bit unusual. It wasn't quite the birth I had hoped for (ie minimal intervention, possibly at home), but considering everything, I feel very lucky. I also had lots of support with breastfeeding, which was really helpful. I can understand how you dh's bad experience would put you off though - you have so little control of things anyway so you don't need anything extra to worry about. And Cambridge traffic after half an hour or so on the A11/A14 while in labour, not a fun idea!

saoirse It's definitely because she loves you so much Grin

sassy34264 · 13/11/2010 13:14

saoirse I think Isobel loves me the most too! She is a mummy's girl, Jacob is all for daddy, he smiles at me but grins and grins and laughs at daddy. It's the other way round with Isobel, she can cry and cry for dp but as soon as i take her off him, she shuts up.

I've not posted so much this week, cos had a really bad week with DP. Had big arguement with him last weekend and he slept on the couch. (his choice) He only rang me once during the week, when normally it would be four times, so sent him 2 no-nonsense texts telling him like it is. Had showdown last night (no shouting though) and he had the babies last night while i got on with stuff (revising for my exam in 9 days) and he took the babies with him on an errand this morning so i could get an extra hour. It's a bloody good job cos with my tiredness and hormones i was close to telling him to *#@" off. I did tell him i'm not sure i want to move in the house if this continues. He has promised to try harder.

Mum just brought round any bags in storage that had any clothes, shoes and handbags in, for the party tonight. DP's face was a picture........there is no room in this house for anything already- oops. I've been wearing my maternity clothes this whole time, so i was estatic to see my clothes and my lovely lovely high heels shoes. I keep my going out shoes in the original boxes and they are all piled up in the front room! It was like christmas opdening them and going ohh, look my red shoes, ooh my faith pair!!!!!! I've forgotten i have half of them. Make up will be going on for only the 3rd time since i got pregnant!

sassy34264 · 13/11/2010 13:16

3 months today!!!!!
