I've friend requested you both too.

Just been out walking to supermarket with Arlo - with impeccable timing it started raining while we were there. I then spent 5 mins getting the blooming rain cover on the pram by which time it had stopped, natch.

Chelle1986 · 05/11/2010 17:14

Hi Dixie - yep was born in 86' - 25 next year.x

Chelle1986 · 05/11/2010 17:15

Sorry - cinnamon - not Dixie! xxx

bananastew · 05/11/2010 18:30

Oh no! Not only have I given Olly the most common name, he also has common babygrows and bouncer! poor boy! Grin

I agree with the weaning thing sassy judge it by the baby, not the guidelines but Debs, what you say about routine breast feeding is fight. My mumsays that when I was born I was taken to her 4 hourly in the day to feed & not at all in the night. No wonder milk supply dried up!

Its really nice to beable to put faces to all these names! I'm having a bit of a rough time at the minute & its nice to know that my new MN friends are real people!!!

SkyeplusArlo · 05/11/2010 19:28

yeah its lovely to see your all real people,i talk about you like your my freinds in rl,and dp keeps looking at me like im a tiny bit mental...so its nice to confirm, you are all REAL! Grin

hope your ok banana Smile (hug)

bananastew · 05/11/2010 20:41

Yeah, I'm ok thanks skye I wrote an epic post earlier & didn't post it cos it was such a ramble. Basically I'm struggling with a a couple of my friends & my Aunties Dying of spinal cancer, she's not got long left. Instead of boring all of you I went and blubbed on a friends shoulder!

I'm feeling a bit better, just found out my friends pregnant & have cracked open the wine. I'm struggling quite a bit emotionally but I'll get there!

We've just got back from driving around watching other peoples fireworks. Ds1 was fine till we wound the window down so he could hear them!

bananastew · 05/11/2010 21:10

Oh cinnamon the photo of you asleep with Luke on your knee & the laptop on the arm of the settee has just made me lol! DH truly thinks I'm mad now! I need to write down mn names against real names cos I'm getting all confused!

The photos of Arlo, think they're yours dixie gorgeous baby but those cakes look a but good too!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/11/2010 21:17

I did a spreadsheet with ds1 as I was worried about how much he was sleeping but as there was really nothing I could do about it anyway I didn't carry on very long Dixiebell. I loved grobags with ds1, Luke is not kicking off his blanket so far but I still have all my old ones and I'm sure I'll be using them soon.

bananastew you shouldn't worry about rambling it's good to get it out. I had a nightmare day yesterday where I cried a lot and was feeling very sorry for myself for having to work full time and how it wasn't fair on my children. I didn't talk to anyone about it but thankfully feel much better today and have had a much better day too! Sorry to hear about your auntie.

7w+4

SkyeplusArlo · 05/11/2010 21:38

banana ramble away! im pretty sure thats what we're here for ! Grin

so sorry to hear about your auntie, theres not alot you can say in such a shite sittuation...nice about your friend though Smile

Dixiebell · 06/11/2010 01:03

banana thanks - can't imagine having the time or incli ation to make cupcakes with 3 different types of icing now!

cinnamon, i'm sure the monitoring won't last long as it's a bind having to remember to enter data for every feed and sleep. But it is very interesting. We had 10 separate feeds and 16 hours sleep yesterday. If nothing else, shows DH that I am being kept busy during the day!

Debs75 · 06/11/2010 08:44

I do agree you should go by your child showing hunger as when to wean but I have heard of some mums starting weaning at 1-2 months as they were 'hungry'.
I like to wait until baby is able to semi-feed themselves which takes out all the tedious pureeing and spoon feeding
If you look at animals when they start feeding they go onto solid food without the purees. Obviously how would a lion get his paws on a blender to puree a zebraGrin.
Anyway lets leave feeding talk till Christmas.(please)

Lucy is still asleep upstairs and I have been up since 7 with dc3Sad She has had a chest infection so has either woke us in the night or just got up really early.
Lucy is awake more in the day which is nice, she likes to sit in her bouncy chair and watch d the other dc's wander around. DC3 likes to push her around and talks non-stop to her

12 weeks. Where has the time gone???

beaditAli · 06/11/2010 10:26

oh bananaaaaaaaana spill it all. This is the one place you know people will listen! Hope things feel brighter today! Grin
I have a brillianr email that will put a smile on everyones faces but can't copy a link so if anyone wants a tummy hurty giggle let me know emails addresses............... just a series of crazy baby pics but well worth it!
skyeplusarlo definitely real here! Grin

sassy34264 · 06/11/2010 11:54

Morning.

Well i managed to cook the gammon (if anyone is remotely interested! ha) Said boil it on packet....doh.

cinnamon Found your link, and i did look at the time, just forgot. So lovely. I like the one where your two ds's are next to each other but look out of proportion, like a trick of the eye thing. (Big fan of salvador dali and he does that.) :)

I have sent a friend request to you all. If i have missed someone, my email is [email protected] :o

I'm going to have a lovely day, i can feel it!!!! Babies are very calm and relaxed and we are going shopping for things for our new house. I bought these the other day from an auction on ebay.

bedroom

Did it without telling DP. Luckily he is ok with it. :)

sassy34264 · 06/11/2010 11:57

oops, it's .com not .co.uk. Blush

bellabelly · 06/11/2010 12:46

Sassy - that furniture is lovely and a real bargain if youae getting everything in the pic for that price! Your DH would be crazy to object, imho Smile

Well, we had a ab time at the local fireworks last night. I was a bit worried how the girls would cope with all the loud bangs but they just slept in the buggy through the whole thing - it amazed me. The boys had a lovely time, it was their first experience of fireworks and their little faces were just an absolute picture.

Sorry to hear about your auntie banana, must be horrible for you all.

beaditAli · 06/11/2010 14:18

sassy sent you the email! Grin

beaditAli · 06/11/2010 14:46

ive always wanted to be a silversmith!!Smile i went to art collage with the intention of taking silversmith degree afterwards, but i ran out of money Sad and put it to one side for a bit...its been a fair few years now though! must get back on that! Smile

sassy34264 · 06/11/2010 20:17

bellabelly I got it cheaper than that. That's how much it is if you want to buy it now. I won an auction for £347. :o

I agree beaditali, gorgeous. My friend makes similar jewellery and sells it at the lowry centre in manchester. She made Isobel and Jacob a silver bracelet each when they were born.

I'm sorry about your troubles too bananastew, hope you're feeling more upbeat soon. x

mellymooks · 06/11/2010 20:45

bead your jewellery is absolutely gorgeous, I love the starfish especially, what a talented lady you are!!

Had a rough few weeks here, been feeling really down and been struggling to bond with Flynn, but I feel like I'm starting to turn a corner and Flynn has started babbling and smiling which is so lovely.

cinnamongreyhound · 07/11/2010 00:06

I'm a Dali fan too sassy34264 but not at all artistic myself! Love the furniture, dh was looking over my shoulder reading your post and said your dp should kick your arse Wink.

Bellabelly we went to fireworks tonight and took Luke in his sling, didn't even jump!

Lovely jewellry beaditAli, the kind of thing we usually get for my dh ex-wife from dss so I'll let him have a look.

So sorry to hear that Mellymooks. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better :)

I now have 2x 4oz of expressed milk in the freezer, going to see if Luke will take a bottle tomorrow in anticipation of the new Harry Potter film!!

beaditAli · 07/11/2010 09:11

Oh melly so sorry you're feeling sad Sad
I just peeked at your pictures and your wee boy is beautiful! I love the second picture especially Grin
I felt a little bit the same but quite early on and I think I was really affected by having our dog put to sleep on my due date and I was in total agony after my section. Things will definitely feel a whole lot more brilliant v v soon! Smile Smile
Thanks for the comments on the jewellery! Grin there's not much of it on that site as they only allow me sell that many.
sassy perhaps you could mention notonthehighstreet to your friend? It's proved really fruitful for me despite the initial payout to join.... just a thought.
We had fireworks at a friend's house and the boys said there was only a Catherine Wheel left so Jack's Godfather stayed outside with him and it was like flipping Krakatoa so now I'm convinced he's deafened for life. I am slightly exaggerating but the boys were not in the good books with dp's Hmm

watersprite · 07/11/2010 19:43

Hi ladies :)

Just after some advice really, my daughter is 6 wks +5 and she is on aptimil comfort. This has been fine for a while but she is showing signs of still being hungry after a 7oz bottle. Just wondering if anyone has move there baby on to stage 2 formula and if so at what age?

Thanks :)

bananastew · 07/11/2010 20:14

Hi all, Thanks for your support! I'm feeling a lot better today. Had a fantastic weekend, birthday party sat am, picked new carpets for the whole house sat pm, sat evening with my family! I won one of the things that was upsetting me, all about sleeping arrangements at my parents. very complicated but it worked out for me. Then an absolutely wonderful, quiet Christening for Olly today. He was such a good boy. slept all the way through! How was Phoebes MammyG

Ollys been poorly over the weekend. I think its his jabs. such a raspy throat and croupy cough. Off his milk & being sick more. Sad

melly glad you're feeling a bit better.

Sassy glad the gammon was a success!

Olly 9wks 5days

Dixiebell · 07/11/2010 21:07

Hope everyone's had a good weekend. Doesn't it make a difference having a DP/DH around compared to during the week in terms of getting things done?!

Had an amusing moment at 4.30am a couple of nights ago. I'd got up to change and feed Arlo, come back into the bedroom and put him into his basket. He wasn't settling, making all sorts of squeaking and grunting noises, but I was leaving him hoping he'd settle, when DH rolled out of bed and picked Arlo up. I asked what he was doing, thinking he was going to rock him a bit, and DH said 'he needs a change and a feed doesn't he?' I'm like, 'I've literally just done that and put him back down!!'. DH had slept right through and thought we hadn't done a feed since 11. Glad my efforts are being so appreciated! DH ended up wasking the baby more than he was already! Unfortunately DH now reluctant to do anything with the LO in the night in case he's missed something, I did take the piss a bit heavily too.

Arlo 5 weeks tomorrow
