I've been wondering how to do that too! Has it worked??

beadit I felt a bit like that too. Although I'm not liking this weaning talk! They're noty old enough to be thinking of that! They've only just been born. I'll be waiting longer this time. I weaned ds1 at 21 weeks and I don't think he was really ready. He didn't really take to solids until he was 7 months when I introduced blw a bit more. He's definatelty not a fussy eater.

bananastew · 04/11/2010 20:54

chelle requested you too!

beaditAli · 04/11/2010 21:28

cinnamongreyhound · 04/11/2010 21:32

Both beautiful boys!! I did put mine earlier in the thread with my two gorgeous boys Grin

Sorry you felt like that beaditAli, please just ignore those bits and join in the rest!

Is 1986 your year of birth Chelle1986? I am 30 this month and I'm finding it surprisingly depressing :(

beaditAli · 04/11/2010 21:35

beaditAli · 04/11/2010 21:44

nope..... giving up and going to bed!

Dixiebell · 05/11/2010 05:21

banana, lovely! Arlo has the same Next babygros and the giraffe bouncer Wink.

Trying Grobag tonight, and we've had 5 hours sleep. He was quite warm when I took him out to change though, so swapped sleepsuit for a vest.

I downloaded a couple of baby tracker apps yesterday, where you record length of feeds/sleeps etc. Anyone else ever used them?

comixminx · 05/11/2010 07:52

Lovely photos everybody! beaditAli, is it bad that I looked at the beautiful skin to skin photo of your DP with baby, and said fwoar!

Dixie, I did use an app for the first few weeks but gave it up recently as I now feel confident about the feeding, and I'm keeping a mental check on number of nappies wet or dirty, which I was also using it for. This was partly because I dropped my phone in water and took a few days to replace it, and it was that that I was using the app on.

Haha comix not at all. He's a rather handsome chappy, though in the bad books for having the night shift and just getting up once with Jack whereas I had 4 stints the night before! Angry
more naked torso shots on the wedding album if you need more fwoars! OMG.... I'm pimping my husband! Shock

sassy34264 · 05/11/2010 08:36

I second comix the photos are all gorgeous! Awh, I love babies! They are just too scrumptious.
I don't remember seeing your link cinnamon, just tried to scroll back and find it but there are just too many posts. Do you remember what date roughly?
I was a bit 'gulp' about turning 30 too, but i love my 30's- far more than my 20's. I'm just hoping i feel the same way about my 40's Shock, turned 36 in oct and i'm thinking i'm hurtling towards it quite fast....eek.

lol beaditali

sassy34264 · 05/11/2010 08:39

oops....always forget,

(I am more tried than normal though. Jacob has temperature since last night- jabs yesterday, i should think. set my alarm for every 2 hours so i could check on him. )

12 weeks today!!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/11/2010 09:28

Just found it sassy34264 it was 1st Nov. My hubby is 15 years older than me and was not bothered at all by turning 40!

LOL beaditAli!!!!!

The reason our mums were told to wean at 3-4 months was due to the ever increasing input by drs. They would tell bfing mothers to stick to a schedule which meant there milk often dried up early so they had to switch to a formula. Formula wasn't very good back then so babies lost weight or wanted to feed more so they suggested weaning to get more calories in. If they had only left mums alone to do what they had been doing for centuries then we wouldn't have the confusion of when to wean.
It is all to easy to get sucked into weaning early with shelves stacked with boxes of cereal aimed at 4 months plus. Only because the goverment hasn't pushed through a bill to change the age range on the labels.

OK rant over whatever you decide with weaning is up to you, i just think you need more facts before you go down that route. Anyway it is at least 2-3 months aw ay before it all starts

sassy34264 · 05/11/2010 11:53

debs75 Not meaning this in a confrontational way, but I find that a bit contradictory. If Drs were interfering before, aren't scientists (WHO) interfering by telling us it has to be 6 months now? You say your self that mums should be left alone to do what they have been doing for centuries- surely that means listening to their own babies? I find it difficult to understand how there can be a one fits all policy, when babies are so different. I definately think there should be information and guidelines for those not confident enough to follow their instincts but ultimately it should be just that, not a rhetoric that tells us what to do.

My rant over too! :)

bellabelly · 05/11/2010 14:04

Do you know, I can't even remember how old the boys were when I weaned them onto solids? They only turned 3 this August!!! My brain/memory has definitely go worse since having kids...

Lovely lovely pics on those fb links - made me smile Smile.

I am getting fed up with mixed feeding, especially pumping milk and bottlefeeding (so that DH can help with feeds and also it somehow feels easier for me to use a bottle rather than BFing when the boys are around and being their usual boisterous selves. Anyway, I used to get LOADS of milk when I pumped but it's really taking ages now to produce even half a feed's worth so I'm worried that what my MW warned me about is coming true and my milk is drying up because I haven't been BFing as much. The girls now sleep through most nights and I always used to put them to the breast for night feeds. Gah! Am so confused about what I want to do and what would be for the best. Sad

sassy34264 · 05/11/2010 14:47

I'm the same bellabelly, complete fog brain! My mum asked me one morning how they had slept the night before and i had no bloody idea! They are all rolling into one. Confused

I know this is completely random and not at all related, but does anyone know how to cook a gammon joint (half)? Apart from bunging it in the oven, i have no idea!!!!! I was a vegetarian for nearly 20 years (from 14) so how to cook meat as passed me by. DP is an hour away from coming home and i thought i might surprise him by actually having food ready/or at least cooking. :)

Tried googling, but they are elaborate receipes.

SkyeplusArlo · 05/11/2010 15:07
