Elsa, ha ha at your dog!

Roobear, hope things improve quick, no fun being zombified.

Seashells, I'm sure being a mum involves many transferable skills such as organisation, budgeting, learning new skills fast, not unemployable at all!

Hol this year will be going to visit parents in Spain, can't wait for them to meet their granddaughter!

Current back to work plan is returning in late June but I don't want to! Darn requirement for an income. I feel sad just thinking about it, but am lucky to have a job.

SilverSky · 11/01/2011 06:52

It may be that my job is not doable three days a week but I will give it my best shot.

Like sea it will affect our financials when we go house hunting. I can't bear to work FT now we have DS. Just hope I won't have to.

nymphadora · 11/01/2011 07:28

Urgh elsa I bawked at the fat ball eating Grin is dh military as well then?

hermya He has only just started applying for stuff. He took longer to get over the stress than we expected.

I'm actually feeling quite lucky now reading about people having to work f/t etc as we are trying to both be p/t. Think it's the difference in when you bought property. Dh bought this house at the wring time but I bought mine in 1998 and he had a flat too so benefitted from price rises. Probably a good job I'm not to get pg again as we couldn't afford a bigger one.

sam12 · 11/01/2011 08:38

Hi, been watching but not had energy to post. Been ill since new year and now I am feeling better dd is poorly. I am just waiting for doctor to call back to try and get her seen today as she is really chesty, snotty, I think she has conjuctivitus and randomly her little toe is swollen and red. Poor little thing.Sad

I am another one worrying about going back to work at the moment am thinking about going late June time. Luckily work have approved me going back three days starting in September so not too long to do full time. I have also asked to be demoted starting September so that I have a more balanced work/home life.

Elsa I have a couple of friends in the military and with military partners and I know they struggle sometimes to get time for family life. Of course you might be just trying to throw us off the scent Grin

I have just started to look at hols. Can't wait for our first family holiday. That will be really nice timeforabrew it must be hard for them not having met her yet.

Hope you get some sleep soon Roo it won't last for ever!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 11/01/2011 13:26

Dd just had a massive poonami. Everywhere. She's settled down to one every four days so when they come, well, stand well back!

DH in Dubai today and overnight so just me, the nanny, three mad boys and dd. Going to bed with dd at 8 pm to make sure I get some sleep between then and 6am tomorrow. Feel for you Roo.

nymphadora · 11/01/2011 16:17

Poor dd Sam!

Took dd2 to hospital & got wrong day so we've been to Asda&Matalan to stock up on vests & sleepsuits. Dd3 enjoyed choosing pink ones!

HermyaLovesLysander · 11/01/2011 16:39

Nymph Property is a key thing isn't it, if your outgoings on that point aren't too big then it's one less hassle to worry about isn't it. Me and DH are a tad too poor to afford the deposit for a house round here at the mo. It's at times like this I wish I had a very rich childless Uncle who wanted to lavish copious amounts of money on me. Either that or a lottery win. Unfortunately Uncle Tarquin or the win (I suppose it would help if I actually played) haven't appeared yet. Grin

Sam I hope your DD gets better soon.

Elsa I hope you get to be nearer your DH this time round.

My cheeky wipes appeared today, my whole living room now smells of lavender.

Must dash, he who rules beckoneth.

nymphadora · 11/01/2011 17:22

Hernya-!Dh keeps saying when we win the lottery but we don't play!

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 11/01/2011 18:35

Ah yes, the lottery-the solution to housing and pension problems in our house!

(Hermya, you have mail)

Dd did a 90^ lean/roll thing-im going to have to watch her on the sofa and changing mat Shock she is also vocalizing loads in a chatty (but noisy) way...much more than I remember Ds doing at 14 weeks! At baby group today all you could hear in a presentation was dd going "aaaaaaaaAaaaAAAAAAaaaaa" Blush

nymphadora · 11/01/2011 18:44

Dd3 is a chatterbox too, I seem to be called 'nyarp' which is v much a demand for milk/pick up.

Lots of laughing tonight with me shaking my hair out of my pony tail. She is also getting v tickleish

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 11/01/2011 18:49

Having a hard day today, Sophie has a cold and has been crying most of the day, im very tired now and could go sleep. :(
Sunday was my 2nd wedding anniversary and it was lovely, due to my £600 car problem we stayed in but it was still nice. Its also my 25th birthday on thursday so having a busy week.
Wow seashells at dd moving a bit, Sophie is 14 weeks and hasnt tried rolling at all.

TimeForABrew · 11/01/2011 20:20

Tyson sorry you're having a hard day, hope it gets better and happy birthday for Thursday, you spring chicken.

Sam hope your DD gets well soon, poor both of you.

ilovegreg ha ha ha at poonami

seashells, that's so lovely re chatty semi rolling DD, & nymphs laughing DD, my DD has started looking delighted and half laughing from time to time, it makes me cry!

dontstopmenow · 11/01/2011 21:06

Oh dear, don't like all this talk about returning to work. I have to start back on the 3rd May. Very depressing indeed. Have yet to sort out childcare. Not sure where I can get childcare for my two as will need a childminder for DS who can take him to and fro nursery (he goes for a half day, every day) but ideally wanted DD to go to a nursery as I think they would be able to give her more attention than potentially a childminder . Dilemmas all around. Am sure it will sort itself out.
Sleeping is still rather impossible, DD wakes about 4times a night stil and likes to be awake for a while at 4am then goes back to sleep at 5.30am just in time for me to catch a little sleep before DS wakes at 6am. Snore!

nymphadora · 12/01/2011 19:49

Been to baby group today. Dd3 made a friend & poked him the face. She was v interested in all the toys but still mainly looking rather than touching!
Took dd2 swimming & dd3 v interested in the pool. hoping to take her now our colds are almost gone

nymphadora · 12/01/2011 19:51

Dd3 just been yelling at dd1/2 until they came to play but wouldn't have dh or I Grin

HermyaLovesLysander · 12/01/2011 20:10

Nymph Awwww bless her.

Dontstop It's all a bit depressing isn't it.

Tyson How are you all doing now?

I've started the ball rolling at work to see about doing part time hours. I've spoken to my rep and am waiting to hear back from him at the moment.

DS really likes the sound of his own voice, he's started to squeal VERY loudly recently. We don't really get laughs out of him, it's more delighted squeals when we tickle him.

I was never a morning person, but seeing DS with his bright smile in the mornings is enough to break me out of my early morning funk.

nymphadora · 12/01/2011 20:16

Might make life a bit easy Hermya. We have the morning smiles too. I woke this am to dd2 playing with dd3 next to me in bed

tiredfeet · 12/01/2011 20:34

Ugh. Having a bit of a meltdown today. Ds very fussy (possibly due to injections yesterday) and then got a letter from work saying they are cutting down on paying extra for working outside normal hours. Will effectively mean a 20% pay cut for me. I know I am hoping to find a new job but this was my fall back and I am gutted. Ds got a payrise this uear so its not a disaster, but will mean I would see even less of the money once travel and childcare paid for. Had a little cry but then ds did a beautiful smile and cheered me up

Still we have a big yummy chocolate cake waiting for me once ds is in bed Grin

TimeForABrew · 12/01/2011 21:12

tired feetSad

Went to my first parent/ baby group today, high time I got out and about a bit more! Will try and catch a walking group tomorrow I think. Not very good at small talk, eek.

Bedtime routine has been started, feel positive.

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 12/01/2011 21:40

Tired feet- hope tomorrow is a better day for you :)

I've got my Sis to stay for a few days...the dc will be so excited when they wake up and see her here!

HermyaLovesLysander · 12/01/2011 22:01

Time I'm trying to break into my local breastfeeding group at the moment. How did it go this morning? Did you enjoy it.

Seashells Oh I hope you have fun.

Tired Oh thats rubbish, I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

TimeForABrew · 13/01/2011 03:47

Hermya it was ok, DD mostly slept through the noisy chaos & I recognised a couple of faces, which helped & several other mums asked about DD so I didn't feel all "aargh no one is talking to me", he he.

nymphadora · 13/01/2011 07:42

Tired-yesterday was our first baby group. We had been to breastfeeeing group but that seemed to be mainly toddlers & quite a few weren't feeding Hmm

Elsa123 · 13/01/2011 18:14

Hello everyone. We've just got back from London. Had a nice if quiet couple of days as I forgot the rain cover for the pushchair so we were limited as it rained too much!

I've yet to get involved in any local groups here. They mostly are in the morning which is annoying as DD sleeps all morning and I'm reluctant to shake her from that routine as she likes the long sleep then an afternoon out and about.

Tiredfeet thats rubbish about your workSad.

DD rolled over for the first time the other day. She's been able to roll to one side for some time but with her harness on it was hard and she hates tummy time so we don't bother too much as its doubly hard with a harness on. I had her on a pillow on her back while I was washing up. I heard her grunting, turned round to find her on the floor completely on her front Shock. I felt awful especially as she can't cope on her front. It can't have been for long, but it was a complete roll over.

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 13/01/2011 18:53

Hermya We are doing better today, Sophie has had a fever today and a cold but slept through it.

Elsa Aww at the rolling, cant wait till sophie rolls, i think she is lazy like her mum :)

Sophie tried to giggle to, it was really lovely.

Ive had a brill birthday, went to o'neills in town which was good, dh and I just sat there going on about how brill it was lol.

Im now 25 so no longer classed as a young mum :)

Had my eyebrows threaded yesterday, my bloody god a tattoo would of hurt less :)
