We came, we saw, we frolicked. Grin

Now our PFB has arrived and we can begin the stressful befuddled guiltridden exhausting wonderful journey of parenthood!

(Or at the very least we can stop bothering the antenatal bunch until they join us!)

Third post in a day - house is upside down but who cares?! Well done on the 2st Pixie! I'm an absolute disgrace right now. I was lighter after giving birth than pre-pregnancy (I blame the hyperemesis) but boy have I made up for it since, thoroughly enjoying all the foods I missed... And sitting on my backside breastfeeding every evening doesn't help! I've never been so fat. :(

See, I've tried expressing at night but it takes soooo long. My LO always goes nuts in the evenings, feeding non-stop, and by the time he's done, I'm pretty empty. And tired. So I just can't be bothered sitting there milking myself... Suppose that means I only have myself to blame! Oh, and during the day, we never used to go as much as three hours between feeds. Two was really good going; one was normal. I brought it up with the dietician cause that seemed mad, but she said that LO was needing that much. He's above the 99.6th centile for length and only on the 91st for weight. And also, because he's having that special supplementing formula before every breastfeed cause of his PKU, and it doesn't contain the amino acid phenylalanine, it's very easy to digest and doesn't fill him for long... Catch 22. He is full each time, but never for long... Now that he's on solids, it's just amazing. Wolfs down everything he's given, then we have about two and a half/three (sometimes four!) hours to play, or go out, or just generally have fun together... It's wonderful. :)

Lol! A brood of 6/7 is pretty massive! I've always said I'd love 4. Two close in age, then a gap, then another two close in age. I like the idea of having them close together, but then can you miss out on the excitement in a way... Like my brother is 2yrs youger and I don't remember much about him as a baby, but I do remember my sister (7.5yr age gap). The excitement, feeling her kick, hearing her heartbeat, longing for her to be born, running down the hospital corridor to meet her for the first time - and all the rest. Imagine how much fun it must've been for my mum and dad, seeing me so excited about it all! Anyway, DH only really wanted 2, so maybe we'll go for three in the end... Like he says, it means you can get by with a standard 5 seat car! I guess time will tell. Like you though, I'm SO over the moon with this little man that, while I'd love more, if this was it, I couldn't complain. :)

I have another unconscious little acrobat here - God, if I was to do what he does all day, I'd be in size 8 jeans in no time! It's no wonder he sleeps so much! Good to hear about the Bumboo. We've just ordered one! Will let you know what we think of it. Right. Nearly 2pm. I'd better get busy. DH's birthday yesterday and there's still wrapping paper on the floor. Blush

WorrisomeHeart · 25/02/2011 18:32

Hi folks

Thanks for the kind wishes. Fortunately everyone I know of in Christchurch are fine and we have no family there. Just horrifying to see the pics though, it looks like a warzone. Makes me feel very very far away too Sad

Am also Envy bunny at your size 8s! I was patting myself on the back yesterday for getting into my pre-preg jeans but they're size 16! Ah well, such is life! pixie well done you too!

pixie Lochie does the head standy thing too - his new thing (since the rolling extravaganza yesterday!) is trying to roll off his bath chair and change mat, lots of fun for mummy!

roses lovely to see you hugely long posts again! Grin

Had a great day yesterday as Lochie rolled from back to front for the first time (and then yowled when he got there as he couldn't work out what to do next!) and we got his highchair! I'm not starting weaning for another 6ish weeks (we're going to do BLW), but he's been pulling himself forward in his bouncy chair and really wants to be upright so I thought it was a good thing to get him used to the seat before I start giving him weird things to eat!

Have a lovely weekend all!

bunnygirl80 · 25/02/2011 21:13

roses I didn't have a cs - I literally just coughed Will out Grin I was just told it's kind of a good idea to leave a year between pgs whatever exit LO took

Apparantly the waking to check on LO in the night is to do with BFing- your hormones make you tuned into your babies sleep cycles so you will always stir when they're about to. I really noticed it back in the good old days when Will started dropping night feeds - I'd still wake at the times he used to, but I'd just hear him settle back to sleep.

We've got first holiday with Will booked - we're coming back to the UK in May for a wedding [must be mad to take baby on 24hour flight emoticon]

pixie well done on the weight loss

Will's had a bumbo (a lilac one cos DH thought that was a good colour for a boy Hmm) for a while now and he loves it, but has also figured out how to launch himself out of it when he's had enough. It mostly lives in our bathroom so he can sit in it and watch while I have a shower

worrisome glad everyone you know's ok

Well done to Lochie for rolling Smile Will's started trying to roll off his change mat too - in face he's really only interested in rolling if he's on a elevated surface Hmm

DH is looking after Will this morning so I can have a lie in, but can't manage to sleep so am having some uninterrupted MN time instead Grin

Will seems unbothered by his cold - he's mega snotty but still smiling away. Clearly he's not yet been informed about the terrible disease that's know as man flu Grin

bunnygirl80 · 26/02/2011 02:32

Have just realised that it is exactly 1 year since William was conceived....it hardly seems possible that 12 months ago my smiley rolling little boy was just a sperm swimming towards an egg Smile

chancewouldbeafinething · 26/02/2011 04:50

bunny how has your week been since your parents left? hope the PIL were ok to you....DH has been a bit down it is worse because we dont know when we will be able to get back over there due to his work. I cant believe that Will has only just had his first dip in the sea!! we have been living at the beach (albeit under the constant shade/sunscreen/50 spf rash suit) this summer, i was determined he would be a beach babe. DH is going to start swimming lessons with him at around 6mths. its so cute :) am Envy at your trip back to the UK! not so much the flight, just the trip:)I wonder when the man flu sets in? i guess we will find out....hope your Will is better soon.

pixie hope you are doing well, it is weird to see DH not cope with things just as easy as we can, esp seeing as how they are not the ones staying home all day isnt it? i am v.Envy at your days out...think i need to work on that. Also my SIL has 4DC all by ELCS and they said to her she would be ok for another...so maybe it depends on the person? well done on the 2st...i am Envy as that is about how much my goal is now...oh well maybe in the next year i will get there! have not heard of a bumbo before, Will has a cushion that supports him but that looks more substantial. We have tiles and i am waiting for the moment he falls back and hits his head (i have him on a mat too) it will not be good.

worri happy to hear all are ok, as you can imagine it has been on the news 24hrs here this week. Just so tragic, you can imagine i have been sitting with the TV on crying my eyes out and I dont even know anyone there. I cant believe they have had 5000 'aftershocks' since september. Its just horrible, but i am glad you fam & friends are all ok.
Great to hear lochie is a happy little boy...Will has been laughing at strange things too, you wonder what is going on in their minds. Will has been sitting up in his high chair for a while (we started it leaning back a little at first) and he watches us eat our dinner and grunts, i think it really helped him want to eat.

roses LOL i just thought of that skit from little Britain where the grown man wants 'bitty'. good to hear the weaning is going well, and LO is sleeping again...fingers crossed for that here too. Will has been getting better, we are back to 7+hrs now which is good for me:) have you tried to express in the morning after you feed? apparently that is the best time as you are rested etc

Well i can not compete with bunny but i am happy to say i am back in to some of my pre-pg clothes too. tbh i am not a very good dieter and not working does nothing to help, but i am getting there..i think the gym is helping (i just joined up with my sister). We have had a pretty busy week, my mums group had a body shop party (?) didnt even know they did that, it was fun and the babies loved the massage we gave them. Its so cute seeing all of them get bigger. I really have to stay home next week and tidy my house, i spent friday cleaning so at least its clean mess:) Will also had his 4mth immunisations he was pretty good no high temp this time, still has the lumps on his legs tho :(
I have been thinking about TTC no2, and as my friend reminded me if you do it now you have to buy another cot, high chair etc so waiting a little longer does make some sense...also i am having so much fun with Will that i could just have him for a year or two and still be very happy.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

bunnygirl80 · 28/02/2011 02:37

chance it's been nice not having to look after visitors Grin Much as I love my family their stay has reminded me why I left home Grin

Not sure why we haven't made it to the beach much over summer - we were busy moving house during Jan, then once we moved it was too hot, and probably the main issue is that DH doesn't like sand Hmm

Will's started giving me "kisses" today - he gives me a big smile, grabs each side of my face and then plants his wide open mouth right on my nose Smile He also seems to have realised that my boobs need to come out of my top to feed him - when he was hungry he used to just latch onto my top, now he's started sticking his hands down there and trying to pull a boob out instead HmmGrin

WhiteRoses · 28/02/2011 17:36

Hi all,

Worrisome - so glad all your family and friends are okay. :)

Bunny - I remember your birth story now - you were at a routine appointment, weren't you? I should have known that, but just couldn't for the life of me remember the other day... Confused

Oh well, chances are there will be a year (or more!) between DC1 and DC2 anyway... There are so many odds stacked against me conceiving... The thyroid trouble that made it quite remarkable that all went so smoothly last time around - I was at a very high risk of a) not conceiving for ages and b) repeatedly miscarring once I had conceived. Then I am still breastfeeding. I don't know if I'm even ovulating at the minute. I was a good weight last time around but am now an elephant! Oh, and DH and I barely have the time/energy for DTD. Not to mention the fact that I always used to have very irregular cycles (19-42days). So we'll see. I won't hold my breath but it would be very nice if it were to happen.

Had NOT heard that about breastfeeding/hormones/sleep patterns! Nature never ceases to amaze me! :)

Wow - what'll Will be in May? Six months? You brave lady! I bet it'll be wonderful showing him off though. :) We're going to BIL's wedding in July (LO aged 10mths). I can't wait to dress him up! Grin He'll be the only baby there (bride doesn't want any children apart from family there, and her nieces are 8 and 10) so here's hoping he's on his best behaviour! Confused

Confused at the thought of Will launching himself off his Bumbo! (Not Bumboo, like my previous typo!) Ours is due to arrive tomorrow, according to the tracking thingy. Seem to have been waiting ages for it. Oh, and it's blue - how boring! Lol at your DH!

Glad Will's cold's not bad. I was the same on Xmas Day (a year since conception) - SUCH a long way in a year... Then there was the anniversary of the BFP, and the 7wk scan... Amazing reliving it all! Wednesday's a year since the 12wk scan, when we saw that little arm stretch out for the very first time... Amazing.

Chance - I must try expressing first thing. I actually had the pump all sterilised and ready to go today, but got a call at 9.30am from the health visitor (who we've not seen since LO was 8wks old) saying that she wanted to pop up for a chat at 11am. Cue mad panicky rush to get house, baby and self looking semi-respectable! Turned out all she wanted was to advise me to put LO's toys out of his reach to encourage his mobility, talk and read to him, and to ask when I intended to start weaning. Confused Waste of time really, and obviously expressing plans went out the window! Oh well. Never mind.

You're another who's getting skinny... Confused I totally need to motivate myself. Immediately after the birth (first day home from hospital) I was back in my size 12 pre-pregnancy jeans, but now, 5mths on, I'm a size 14, which I've NEVER been. And to be completely honest, they're actually a little tight... Blush I'm such a pig. I keep eating things just because I can, I think. It's ridiculous. I think it's cause, during pregnancy, I was so sick, and now once LO starts eating proper meals with us, everything will have to be so healthy, so I'm kind of taking advantage of this few months' window of opportunity, when I really shouldn't... Still. Never mind. I will lose it all again.

If we do have no. 2 soon-ish, we will need a few more things - a cot bed, a double buggy and a highchair being the main ones, as far as I can tell. But say it amounts to £1k extra, we'd previously have happily spent that on other things, such as stuff for the house, or a break away, and how can you compare the likes of that to having a little brother or sister close in age for DS? Just depends how you look on it, really. And it probably won't happen that soon anyway, so we'll see. We just feel like we don't want to prevent it from happening when we'd be so happy if it did.

Bunny - totally with your DH not liking sand! HATE the stuff! :)

Lol at Will and his kisses! It's so funny - if anyone else slobbered over you like that, you'd think it was disgusting! I always think one of the funniest things is when LO latches onto my chin - SUCH a weird feeling. Mind you, now that I think about it, I can't remember the last time he did it... He's getting so clever and grown up! Like Will, he too now yanks at my top, to release the boob! I amn't a fan of breastfeeding at all, but I must admit, I love it first thing in the morning when I take him into bed beside me and he grins and excitedly tries to pull my top down, all excited, thoroughly looking forward to what he knows is just about to happen! It's soooo cute and funny! :)

Right. Hope everyone had a nice weekend. It was gorgeous weather here, so we were out and about loads - helped by the new 3-4hr gaps between feeds. Happy days! :)

chancewouldbeafinething · 01/03/2011 00:13

Oh well i hope last night was a one off, or growth spurt or something...Will was up every 4 hours hollaring for food, and was not even knocked out at the end of the feed! I was putting him back to bed still awake which is very unusual for him. I am sitting here trying to psych myself up to going to the clinic mums catch up today, its about play and development so i want to go. But i would also love to get a nap in (its been a while since i was this tired)

bunny i know how you feel, its so sweet when they grab you and slobber all over your face isnt it? Will loves to grab my lip (ouch) and kiss (read:suck) on my cheek or chin.
I LOVE SAND!! how can you not love to feel warm sand between your toes? I think that there should be classes of how to cope with sand (my PIL should attend) you need to use the showers before leaving the beach and not bring the sand home with you :) (still finding sand in the spare room)

roses oh trust me i am far from being skinny...i know i just have to move my butt or it will end up the size of a house. also i dont want to go and buy more clothes when i have more than i know what to do with already. I keep putting on clothes that are too tight to remind myself not to eat too much :)
I know what you mean, if it did happen, then we would just buy those things and not think anything of it (we will have to buy a new pushchair anyway) but i dont think we are in any danger of it happening soon, my cycle seems to be all over the place. At first my cycle was very regular, back to normal, and now i think i am up to about 6 weeks...funny how i am not so sure...when we were ttc we all knew exactly what day we were on!

ok have to stop procrastinating and get organised....hope everyone is having a good week xx

bunnygirl80 · 01/03/2011 04:57

chance my Will didn't sleep very well last night either - I think it was because it was more humid than it has been for a little while. He'd been doing really well with sleep again and only waking every 5 hours and was back to every 3 last night. Hope we both have a better night tonight Smile

Think I should send my PIL on the how to deal with sand course - MIL kept saying she was sure we have termites cos she kept finding sand on the floor. Tried to explain it was probably off her feet but she was having none of it - took her about 3 weeks to realise that if you wash your feet after the beach but then put your shoes on and walk back across the sand they will get sand on them, and yes it will follow you into the house Hmm

Am going to whisper this.........if your period's 2 weeks late then maybe you should do a test........

roses yes it was me that merrily trotted along to the obstetrician appointment thinking the crampy stomach was due to dodgy food rather than labour Smile Good job my BP was so high at the appointment I was admitted straight away as by the time the contractions were painful enough for me to think I was really in labour Will was only 30 mins from being born, and we live 30 mins from the hospital. I suppose it would have been a good story to tell people if he had arrived when we were halfway across the harbour bridge Grin

WhiteRoses · 01/03/2011 11:04

Hi - gosh, bad night for the Frolicker Babies last night! My LO woke at 3am, after just 5hrs sleep, and was WIDE awake for over 2hrs... Don't know what got into him! And then he was up again at 7am (normal if he'd slept all night but not having only had about 7!) And he's still wide awake now, currently rolling all over the room and chewing on his toes... Funny little fella!

Oh well.

Oooh, Chance! Were you always regular before you got pregnant?! Is there a chance of no. 2?! Shock

Yeh, Bunny, I totally remember your birth story now, because it was a bit similar to mine... I whinged about the dining room chairs and said I'd have to eat off my lap till Baby came, cause those chairs were really hurting my back. Then I whinged about feeling so bloated after drinking too much milk, went to bed, and woke up in shock with my waters having gone! Went to hospital and was sent home for being "calm and relaxed", held off taking a Paracetamol cause I wanted to save it for when I was really in labour, and then only returned to hospital when I felt myself start to push! Lol! Total idiot! But never mind, we (somehow!) got there in the end! Lol!

Well today's another gorgeous day, so here's hoping this Bumbo arrives soon so that LO and I can get out and make the most of it! Fresh air might wake me up a bit too! Hope everyone else has a good day. :)

bunnygirl80 · 04/03/2011 23:11

roses glad I'm not the only one that spent the whole time waiting to be properly in labour Grin

Will managed to sit unaided for the first time the other day Smile Worryingly he then leans himself forwards into a crawling position.....I really thought I'd have at least another 3 months or so before he got mobile, but looks like I need to think about babyproofing asap.

I think he's got a bit of an evil streak. Was at my boot camp class and the trainer was holding him so he could watch. The more press ups we did the more he laughed and laughed and laughed Grin Obviously he enjoys seeing mummy in serious pain enjoying exercising Smile

mumnerves · 05/03/2011 16:43

Hurrah for naps! I can finally get to do some housework come on MN! :o

I am a bit Envy at all of you who are weaning, I can't wait to be able to give him something more interesting than just milk.

News on our side, this past week, I decided to not get up and feed him when he stirs but just put his dummy in his mouth as sometimes he was feeding for 5 min and then falling back asleep...result a full 7 hours sleep for me!! :) Can't believe the difference it has made to my day and how much better I can cope with it! He's also started teething, I guess he misread the book that said most babies teeth at 5-6 months and not 11 weeks!

Aly Kai is so cute and I love his name!

Whiteroses Wow! The first second frolicker baby, can't wait! you're a much braver woman than me, we've told ourselves to wait till the 1 year mark before considering another! also wow to 4! I think we'd stop at 2, not sure I'm built to cope with 4 kids but always had lots of respect for mums who can!
I'll be off to Singapore to visit relatives in April and can't wait! A bit nervous as I'm out first then DH will be joining us later but got my trusty sling to help me cope on the airplane and am still BF so no formula to make up :)

pixie good to hear about the bumbo, have heard mixed reviews on them so good to hear a positive one!

bunny interesting to hear about BF/hormone/sleep thing, I too stir just before he does and it's interesting to know there's a link! Will seems to be flying through with his physical achievements, must be fit like mummy! Keep the stories coming, they always make me smile :)

Wave to anyone I haven't mentioned, got to go see to my stirring baby but have a nice weekend ladies!

chancewouldbeafinething · 06/03/2011 04:26

bunny i am glad it was only a whisper...but no alas aunt flo has arrived... roses sorry to get you excited.

You guys and your labours...i was the opposite he didnt want to come out at all. He was dragged out 11 days late kicking and screaming.

Will has been waking again and again, i am trying to give him water now. It worked a few times, but other nights he just screams until he is fed milk. he is a bit all over the place this week, one night he slept for 9hrs the next 5+5. I am glad i am not back at work is all i keep thinking. I have started to put him in a sleeping bag which now that it is getting cooler i hope will keep him asleep for longer.

was talking to a few mums about the bumbo, they brought it for me to try Will in....and guess what he doesnt fit! well he does but he was a bit stuck. I guess he will just have to lean on his own lunch.

Last night DH and I decided to have a date night, first since Will was born. It got cut short because my nephew was sick, so i think we will try again next week. I am enjoying a bit of quiet time, just back from the gym to find my two fellas asleep.

mumsnerves yeah to sleep for you! it is amazing what you can cope with when u finally get a good sleep.

i think i can hear someone stirring ...better go will catch up during the week. Hope you are all enjoying the weekend:)

bunnygirl80 · 06/03/2011 23:02

mumnerves am Envy of your 7 hours sleep. I tried the same with Will when he was 11-12 weeks, worked well for a couple of weeks, and now we're back to waking every 3 hours at night Sad He seems genuinely hungry though, as he is properly feeding for 10-15mins now.

We're definitely going to offer him solids this weekend - hopefully that will help him to go a bit longer between night feeds.

chance was really hoping you'd be the first second time frolicker Grin

My Will's thighs are a little bit chubby for the bumbo too - when I lift him out the bumbo generally lifts off the ground with him and I have to prise his legs out Grin

We did an infant first aid course yesterday, so now we are in possession of the correct size bandages for treating him if he's ever bitten by a snake or a funnel web [wonders why we moved to a country where all the wildlife wants to kill you]

WorrisomeHeart · 08/03/2011 12:58

bunny exciting re offering solids! Hope it goes well!

chance I am also disappointed that you're not the first to make the leap to second FF! I'm sure one of us will be soon though..

mumnerves Brilliant re the sleep - I'm consistently amazed at how adaptable babies can be in regards to sleep. I've been trying really hard to be strict about Lochie napping in his cot (he used to sleep on me, but he's getting too big for it to be comfortable) and after a week or so of it taking a while for him to settle, he seems to have got the hang of it and goes out like a light! Next thing to tackle is the 30 min ength of the naps...

Roses how is the bumbo going? We've barely used ours - it took Lochie about 5 mins to realise that if he arched his back he could lever his wee botty out of it!

We've had a lovely weekend and start to the week - my aunt and uncle were over (they live in Oz) and met Lochie. It was so nice to see them, and they were sooo delighted with Lochie and he loved seeing them too. A bit sad that they've gone now (they're actually spending a month in Paris and hopped the Channel to see us). It makes me realise how much of my extended family Lochie will miss out on - I grew up having very close links to my mum's family, and they are great. It really does make me think that we should be thinking about a move back to NZ in the nearish future (like 5 years). Anyway, enough Sad thoughts! I'm going to try and post an updated Lochie pic on my profile, but given the issues I had last time I can't promise anything!

Hope you are all well!

chancewouldbeafinething · 09/03/2011 10:25

worrisome i hope you are not feeling too homesick..i know how hard it is to wonder if you are doing the right thing. well done on the cot sleeping, our Will was the same for ages he would not sleep unless he feel asleep on us...now he is getting better.

Speaking of sleep (i am going to whisper this as i dont want to jinx it) Will has been getting a full 12 hours sleep for the past 3 nights!!! i am hoping the trend will continue. I think it is a combination of a sleeping bag, more solids and making sure he doesnt wake up for the dream feed (I am feeding him at 10pm while he is still asleep and then tucking him back in). Last night he did wake up at about 4am, which seems to be the problem time, but he managed to get back to sleep without me going in to him. I have my fingers and toes crossed he keeps it up :)

bunny i have to say get started on those solids! Will is quite interested in what we are eating, so he has been eating avocado, banana and crusts from my toast! (all approved by my mum...i was a bit Hmm at the toast idea but he loved it) I have to say it is really important to use a weaning spoon and not one of those big ones you get in kiddies packs (i got some heinz ones from bigW in a pack of 4).

right off to make some muffins to take to mums group in the morning...at 9.30pm you would think i would have something better to do Wink

mumnerves · 09/03/2011 16:55

chance date night sounds like a good idea! /good luck and hope the sleep continues!

worrisome I'm in exactly the same situation as you about extended family. I have family all over asia and DH in Europe also America, in fact here there's only a cousin of mine, so we try to keep in touch as much as possible but I lived within reach of all my aunties uncles, grand uncles, cousins and loved it. Feel a bit sad he won't have that too.

bunny what's a funnel web??!

Hermya321 · 09/03/2011 21:09

Bunny We're the same with waking, I must admit I tend to give DS the dummy a few times before I feed him but I tend to be a bit out of it when he first starts crying.

White I hope you enjoyed your relatives visit and wow about TTC DC2. I think I would be on that bandwagon with you if not for work stuff. Oh well, it's probably for the best. What you need to do is to get friendly with people with older children who are finished with all their stuff, seriously I've got a friend who is constantly giving me stuff. It's a bit mind boggling actually. Well she does have twin boys and after her experience I'm not surprised she's finished.

Bunny DS keeps dragging his knees up underneath him and sort of rocking forwards. It is rather worrying, I was hoping that crawling would be held off for a while.

Anyway I hope you're all well, I've been very poor at keeping up with everyone. We have sorted out DS's reflux, he's on infant gaviscon which seems to have sorted him out. I think it has work too well though as not only has he leaped back up onto his original percentile he is now fast outgrowing his 3-6months stuff and is 16lbs 7 Confused. He's bigger than my friends 6 month old baby and he's only four months old.

As for me, I tried my work uniform on the other day. I did manage to get it on but it was tight so I need to get myself moving (literally). I have taken up running again but as far as I'm concerned running is the work of the devil (as is camping) so I've not really gotten very far.

Also you may not 'hear' from me for a little bit, I'm taking a bit of a break from MN. Theres a few things in RL that I feel need my attention at the moment. Just thought I'd let you know.

I hope you're all well!!! Smile

Hermya321 · 09/03/2011 21:11

Also if you wish to nosy, there is an updated picture of the boy on my profile.

mumnerves · 09/03/2011 23:01

Hermya Good news with the gaviscon sorting him out. Sorry to hear about the things in RL hope they are not too serious and you manage to sort them out quickly. Asher is growing so fast and can't believe how bright his hair is! Lovely! Take care and hope to have you back soon x

bunnygirl80 · 10/03/2011 05:28

mumnerves a funnel web is a type of poisonous spider that lurks in Sydney

Sorry I burst your bubble on the other thread - hopefully your DS will keep up his good sleep habits. William never did the waking every 2hrs newborn thing, so I think he's letting me catch up on the sleepless nights now Grin

hermya glad the gaviscon is working. Hope we see you back here soon

worrisome hope you're not feeling too homesick. I never missed home until we had both sets of parents over to visit and I saw how much Will loves his grandparents.

We had a similar problem with the 30 mins naps for a while - I solved it using the suggestions in "no cry nap solution"

chance your mum's group sound very wholesome with your muffin baking - mine drank a record amount of wine yesterday as we're all suffering the effects of the 4 month sleep regression. Smile

Will's figured out how to get around by lying on his back and pushing with his feet. Put him on his playmat this morning and turned my back for 5 mins to make my breakfast and came back to find him about a metre away from the mat Shock

I really do hope that none of us have to take our babies to hospital. My nephew is still sick has large lump on his throat, his lymph node is swollen to the size of a lemon. so i have spent the past 4 days at the childrens hospital with my sister and him. (aussie equiv of ormond st) He is home for 2 days but is back on Wednesday to see if he needs surgery...he is in good spirits and we hope it is just an infection not anything more serious. But there are so many kids there that are in such bad shape it breaks your heart. The little boy next to him was there because they suspected he had been thrown against a wall!!! he has severe brain damage and they think he is pretty blind he is only about 1. The saddest thing tho is no one visits him (think his mum is on run from police) it is just too sad we had to buy him some presents so it looked like someone loved him. I tell you i came home and hugged Will for a long time.

hermya hope all is ok in RL, great pics of the boy :)

bunny yes we are a boring bunch we are even starting a walking group, i am pretty sure people laugh at us when they see all the mums on patrol. we are planning a few baby free nights so we can have a few Wine

ok Will is awake and wants to type Hmm will be back soon

bunny spider??! shudder!
I remember all too well when I was in Sydney and my friends took me fishing they explicitly warned me NOT to go near any bushes and be very careful if I heard anything rustle! Scary stuff!
BTW don't worry about what you said, I actually found it quite funny and am still in denial that it may go pear shaped again in a few weeks :o

chance Angry at that poor boys parents! So sad how could a parent do that to your own child! So sweet of you to buy him some presents. Hope your nephew is better soon.

Got ourselves a bumbo too yesterday. Sean's legs are too fat to fit in them properly and I can't see it lasting for that long. Am glad I only bought it second hand or it would've been an expensive buy for us. He will sit in it but looks quite bewildered at the change in view! :o

chance hope your nephew gets better soon. It's so Sad about the other little boy, it's hard to believe that parents could be so cruel

mumnerves I hope sean sticks to sleeping well for you. I think what makes this 4 month sleep thing worse is that I'd just got used to having a decent amount of sleep again, and now he doesn't need much daytime sleep it's harder to catch up. I miss taking long afternoon naps Smile

Took Will for his first swimming lesson this morning and he absolutely loved it. And it's tired him out so he's slept most of the afternoon. Might start taking him at about 6pm to see if it'll get him to sleep all night Grin I felt a bit of a fool singing nursery rhymes while splashing him with water, but he seemed to find it funny. Smile

Aaargh - William is now waking every 90mins at night Sad Not sure if it's related to his 4 month immunisations, starting solids or his teeth. The only thing I know it's definitely not is hunger - although the only way he'll resettle is to munch on my nipple despite the fact he takes a dummy fine during the day Confused

Am going to see how he is tonight and if he's no better then I'm just going to have to get tough over the weekend and try and resettle him without offering food
