I saw on twitter some funny comments about FB being down like, office productivity up, baby boom in nine months, something about Zuckerman's movie... quite funny. I wonder if there will be a boom? There was when screen writers went on strike in The States and here. Plus we have a huge Asian population so 2008 was the year to get married or have a baby...08 plus Rat... awesome.

moosemama · 23/09/2010 22:43

He He. Dh was just telling me how twitter have been taunting FB for having to use their service to inform their own subscribers that FB was down. Grin

I have just posted a picture of my poorly dog in her lampshade onto my profile. She looks remarkably chipper in the picture, but is actually really depressed and in lots of pain, bless her. Sad

moosemama · 24/09/2010 12:05

Morning - just!

Is it Stripey's birthday? If so:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STRIPEY! HAVE A GOOD 'UN!

Dog, glad that Joss was ok after his sicky episodes.

Ds1 wasn't sick again either, he looked quite pale and exhausted this morning though. Forgot to say last night, but I was worries as he had a head injury at school yesterday - tripped and fell headlong into the sharp corner of a metal bench leg. The school, typically, handled it very badly and failed to inform me or send him to a first aider! Shock Angry I checked his pupils were equal and responding normally and made sure he didn't have any double or fuzzy vision and decided to let him go to sleep. He fell asleep almost straight away though - which is most unlike him - it can normally take him anything up to an hour and half to drop off . Then the alarm clock went off in his room really loudly and he slept through it, so I panicked and thought his was unconscious rather than asleep - he wasn't.Blush

Hi Tink, I have bought a few little things off GLTC and they have always been very prompt and efficient - no experience with large items or furniture though I'm afraid.

teaandcakeplease · 24/09/2010 12:22

Oh it's Stripeys other halfs birthday, on fb the DOB is her partners. Oops Blush

stripeywoollenhat · 24/09/2010 12:27

Hi books. Yes she is thank goodness. She seemed to work out some way of jamming it under her tummy to sleep last night. She still woke me a few times, but it was a vast improvement on the last week.

Everything ok with you and yours?

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 24/09/2010 16:04

oh have just seen ikea kritter bed luv it Grin

hackneyzoo · 24/09/2010 18:18

Happy birthday Stripey!

Will catch up later, having a mad day, kids all crazy at school (its a windy day, they all go nuts in the wind).

Moose I will message you as have been doing an ASD course and have a ton of resources you might be interested in. Glad you got postive feedback and action from inclusion woman, about bloody time!

hackneyzoo · 24/09/2010 18:22

Have no energy to bath kids so have stuck tem in from of Waybeloo while I mn instead! Stupid computer is on its last legs, te adapter sparked and blew up and its a funny ~Mac one so costs a fortune to replace, so bought a dodgy one off ebay which doesn't work and seller is being arsey.

Dog, how is J doing? Has he been sicky again today?

Ray, save me a cup cake!

Lily is now asking me to turn off the TV (its only been on for 10 mins! this is most unusual)so ad better go and be a good Mummy.

moosemama · 24/09/2010 18:57

Thank you HKZ. I sort of cited both you and Lenni to the inclusion lady, mentioning 'specialisms in ASD inclusion'. [naughty Moose emoticon] I wanted give her the impression that I have at least some knowledge and am therefore not able to be easily fobbed off. I think it put the wind up her a bit. Grin

My Macbook is on the fritz as well. The screen keeps flashing.

Did you not see the thing on the telly about fake adapters off ebay and how dangerous they are? Apparently an 8 year old boy was killed by a similar one his Mum bought for his nintendo. I have made a policy of not buying anything electronic of ebay since I heard that. Scary stuff.

My crew currently have all the cushions off the sofa (this is banned in our house by the way) and have created their own personal soft play area. Dd is lying in the middle saying "night night" then jumping up and saying "morning now". Tis most entertaining, if very naughty and not conducive for bedtime peace and harmony. Hmm Grin

hackneyzoo · 24/09/2010 19:27

Personal soft play area sounds good, I could do with one of those. Glad you put the wind up inclusion lady. Will get all the info together for you over the weekend, there are some great links for resources, social stories, cartoons and reading on Apserger's.

Thanks for info about Macbook, my screen has gone stripy , not a good sign Sad It is about 5 years old though, which isn't bad going. Am going to get a refund off ebay (if I can be arsed) and go and buy a proper adapter...don't want to blow myself up Confused

chefswife · 24/09/2010 20:49

Happy Birthday Stripey

Moose Thats sounds like a weakness in the opening part where I guess is the wires for the screen stuff... Honestly, baby brain so soon! Confused

DH now has a motorbike so DD and I are completely mobile in our car! So excited... we can get off the mountain more and to the ocean side and playdates and lattes at good coffee shops. Yeah. Went to a toddler social at the rec centre; all my mummy friends were there and a whole pile of parents and kids. It is free too. Then we filed downstairs for a coffee and the kids had a snack and then we got in the car and got home in time for nap. Love being mobile. Grin Thank You!!

120 · 24/09/2010 22:13

Okay, I have to admit I sort of skim read.

Happy last bit of your birthday stripey.

Dog, glad the little man is better. The only time my DD vommed was when I drank a half of that strawberry beer before BF. Ooops.. recommend not trying that one. Guinness was fine..

HZ I've joined Discover! Me think it will be a bargain in the winter months. Lets go together when you have them.

Moose, only just saw the biscuits so prob too late. Not sure what fat percentage it needed for the cream, but I don't see why you shouldn't. I swap greek yoghurt for cream whenever I can as I can't stand the stuff (unless on scones or in pasta). Sorry to hear DS1 was sick.

rant alert

I've had quite a day:

I have managed to scrape the car when trying to get out of the way of another car which was haring down a narrow street.

I've got myself a parking ticket whilst dropping the kids off as my mum. The time was 2.57 when I was scratching it off. Was not concentrating so scratched of 2, then 10. Should have been 3.10. grrr. I was so cross my mum just took it off me and told me not to worry about it. She was scared I was going to 'drive angry'.

And then I started the first day of a 12 week evening class (just got back). It cost over £200 and I absolutely hate it. I got so wound up by it that I was in tears when I left. Am going to see if I can change or get my money back tomorrow. Oh, and the haircut I had last Sunday is so bad, I've phoned them to get it re-cut. That has never happened to me before either.

rant over

glass of wine being administered

On the up side, the fruit cart men sold me 6 punnets of strawbs for £3. May be horrid ones, but I'll check them in the morning.

teaandcakeplease · 24/09/2010 22:46

Oh 120 that does sound like a naff day. Didn't quite understand the "Was not concentrating so scratched of 2, then 10. Should have been 3.10" but I'm probably being a little dense Confused

Hope the wine has done its work and you feel calmer now ((hugs))

120 · 24/09/2010 22:51

oh, it's one of those residents parking scratch cards where you scratch off the hour then the minutes. I was distracted whilst getting the kids out and so scratched off the the 2 o'clock, then when I got round to doing the minutes, it was 10 mins later so 10 past three. Not you, I didn't type it well!

Anyway, nice to see a friendly face after that lot. Just cooked an amazing batch of sourdough bread, only to bite in to it and realise I forgot the salt. Agggh! Will it e'er end??

OP posts:
moosemama · 24/09/2010 23:23

120, sorry to hear you have had such a bad day. A wine and chocolate prescription is definitely required, I reckon.

We got a parking ticket once, due to an error. It was on my birthday and the first time I'd been out anywhere since I had ds2. Dh wrote to the council explaining what happened and they waived the fine.

You weren't too late for the biscuits. I haven't had the energy for baking today. I do have two pots of low fat creme fraiche in the fridge though, so might have a go over the weekend.

Things have been so crazy around here that I suddenly realised at 5.00 that we didn't have all the constituent parts to make one whole meal. Dh ran into the local shop on the way home and we all (excluding dd) had tinned soup! Shock [bleugh] The only good thing about it was that I had two bake-at-home crusty white bloomers which I cooked up and slathered in butter to go with the soup. Dd had crusty bread, apples grapes and cheddar chunks followed by a soya yoghurt.

Darn those tinned soups are salty, I have been constanly thirsty ever since - not even my huge bar of Galaxy got rid of the salty taste! Wink Grin

Anway, I was just flying past really, am totally knackered and have to be up early to get everyone to my nephew's birthday party for 11.00 am tomorrow.

Hope you have a nice weekend to make up for your horrible day today. Smile

Oh - and good luck for your viewings.

120 · 25/09/2010 00:57

thanks Moosey. So glad you and Tea were on-line tonight! My mum's got the kids and DP is out and about at the cinema so have been sitting here on my own and too tired and even too arted out to paint.

meant to say earlier we i-playered the great british bake off this week. have a few things to say about that when I have more energy.

night night x
