hello :) been reading but not had time to write.
Happy Birthday Isaac!
Unbelievable that we are reaching the first birthdays. I never imagined I'd still be unemployed right now. It makes me feel anxious on some days and really lucky on others.
Pav sorry to hear about the horrible accident but glad you are recovering OK and that the LOs were spared.
scarlotti Hope your hand is recovering. Sorry to hear that your DH has not found a flat yet. I'm also curious to hear how long people are planning to BF. I thought 1 year sounded about right, but planned all along to see how it goes. Lately I've found my supply seems to be dropping off, as I supplement the bfing with more solids. I'm OK with that, tend to feel better for DD to be more independent from me. She wants to nurse at much as ever, though, so it puts me in a bit of a bind...
hobnob I agree, this is a very fun age! She entertains herself really well, although I still have to keep a close eye on her... likes to pick things off the floor and try to eat them. I am hoovering and sweeping constantly!
ursi groan, the teeth! Still only two here but it feels like a mouthful. I don't know how I'll bear it when she gets top razors teeth to go with her bottom set. My sympathies!
helips sounds like you're having a great time in Singapore. Are you still feeling some culture shock or is it all just one big adventure?
SirBoob hearing them say "mum" never gets old
Oh, if you'll permit me a rant - I went with a mum friend to her postnatal "yoga" class last week... it was comically dreadful. The teacher was relentlessly tactless. Early on she said "Oh, if you had a c-section - but I don't think any of you had c-sections..." (I did.) then later she wanted to check me for diastis recti- whatever - and added "Oh but you wouldn't have it if you had a c-section, unless you labored beforehand?" (I did.) And THEN she asked if I was more than 12 weeks beyond the birth (M was the oldest baby of the bunch that day, clearly I'm well past the 12 week mark), because "there are exercises you can do early on but once you get past 12 weeks..." So, to recap: I failed by having a cesarean, I failed to avoid laboring before my emergency cesarean, then I failed to do abdominal exercises in the 12 weeks post-partum, when I was specifically forbidden from doing anything that would strain my abdomen (see: cesarean section), so now I am stuck with my separated stomach muscles, for life, which I was happily oblivious to until she brought it up in front of the entire class. She smiled and said something hippy-dippy about my "battle scars". Oy. Won't be going back! Obviously!
Least relaxing yoga class, ever.
