Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tweakers · 03/09/2010 15:54

not great news from mw,i was completely closed and thick. she managed to stretch me to 1cm
she's really sweet and still being positive about things which is more than i'm managing. i'm not getting bhs or anything now. i wish i could just go to bed and hide

tweakers · 03/09/2010 15:55

oh and if one more person asks me why Pea's not here yet.... AngryAngry

cyteen · 03/09/2010 16:55

tweakers :( Maybe there is some due date confusion, as you mentioned earlier, and she's just not ready to come yet.

Very frustrating either way. x

tweakers · 03/09/2010 17:04

maybe, but we'll never know. i'm booked in for the obligatory ctg on wednesday and induction on friday
I can't even have a second sweep because mw only works on fridays

thanks for the song

cyteen · 03/09/2010 17:14

ctg? Re. mw hours, that is crap Angry Is this some sort of homebirth-related stricture? Because if it is, it sucks.

tweakers · 03/09/2010 17:34

ctg=the heart monitoring thing that produces a pretty graph
nope, apparently its policy round here to only go to 40+10 before being induced so actually i'm 'lucky' in that she's 'letting' us go to 40+12

at least DH is now at home for two days. poor DS is probably getting fed up with me telling him off all the time. i've got such a short fuse

i asked mw for her honest opinion about when she thought Pea would arrive... she was very reluctant to answer but eventually admitted that it would probably be another week for things to happen naturally but because induction booked for next friday, thats more likely to happen first

i know i can go in for daily monitoring instead of being induced but the thought of organising it with someone looking after DS and me not being able to drive myself, just isn't practical.

i know i'm lucky, as TS said, millions would be envious of being in my position, and i know that i'm being selfish but after all the intervention with had with DS's labour/birth, i really just wanted Pea's to be normal

hotterpotter · 03/09/2010 17:38

Oh tweaky don't get too downhearted, sweeps are over-rated IMO, they either tell you 'ooh your baby'll be here by tomorrow' so you get fed up when it's a lie (me) or you get fed up because you're apparently nowhere near ready (you) and everyone says they only work if baby is ready to come anyway in which case it'll come so why bother... You still have a whole week before worrying about induction, therefore I predict Pea deciding next Thursday night is the perfect time to arrive (like Thor). Chin up chuck Smile

tweakers · 03/09/2010 17:51

thanks hots

ds and i are friends again Smile

cyteen · 03/09/2010 18:42

Yes, don't forget that I was booked for induction with J on the Monday morning at 8.30am and he finally decided to get things moving about 4hrs beforehand :) It's no wonder you're on a short fuse - I can't believe you've been as sane as you have on this thread up till now tbh.

I shall pack away my platitudes and just give you a big martini hug x

oopsandbabycoconuts · 03/09/2010 18:47

Tweaky - You might remember that at 35 weeks the MW said I was 5cms? When I went in in labour they checked me and I was 1cm and thick thick - so what happened between 35w and then confuddled me!

DD loved nursery and is going Monday and Thursday mornings, starting next week [eek]

Back later to catch up.

CrispyTheCrisp · 03/09/2010 18:52

Evening Smile

Lovely day at the zoo today. DC's spent ages in the splash bit and were good as gold all day Smile. However they slept in the car for 45 mins to 5pm, so 7pm bedtime may be a challenge for DH Grin

tweakers Gosh Pea is cosy in there. Poor you Sad. Have you shown her her new carrier to try and encourage her to come and investigate? Hopefully DH will take DS out over the weekend so that you can satisfy your completely reasonable desire to go and hide in bed Smile

pert good to hear your change of circumstances was planned, but nevertheless, stressful without moving home at the same time. Wishing DH and his friend every success in their new venture Smile

hots/spring poo bum fart for this month not being the one for you both Sad

spring i agree with VG's cunning plan re trying to understand whether you do want to leave or not. I decided i had had enough of the terrible morale and crap role offers and asked them how much they might want to settle with me to leave. Not saying you want this but you probably have more opportunities than you think Smile

luckoftheirish · 03/09/2010 19:04

hey ladies,

v briefly caught up so lots of hugs for those who needs them..

hols was ok, dd2 had a nasty cold and temp for most of the week and didn't eat much Sad.. dd1 loved the pool but also suffered with cold and dodgy tum... dad hard work, dh ok but not around now for the weekend with footie and golf weekend.. so not what i had anticipated/looked forward too but glad to be home Smile

GladioliBuckets · 03/09/2010 19:07

Tweakers Are they just planning to hook you up to a drip? I'm sure I've heard of someone being given a pessary at hospital and then being allowed to go home. Could be worth phoning consultant MW about.

tweakers · 03/09/2010 20:31

thanks all
DH came home early so i disappeared upstairs on my own whilst he dealt with dinner/bed for DS.
DS made me cry though because when he came upstairs for bed, he ran in to see me, said his name and did his 'pretty flower' sign. He then pointed at me, said mummy and did it again.

hi loti, welcome home

hmm you're right buckets, need to find out all my options.

crisp, you're right, she obviously is a bit too cosy!

oops when labour started you were 1cm and thick?

cyteen I hope Pea follows J's good example
thanks for the hug. all i wanted this afternoon was a hug, i almost asked the mw for one. to be fair, she probably would have given me one as well but i couldn't guarantee it wouldn't make me cry so thought i was best trying to get home before the tears started

CrispyTheCrisp · 03/09/2010 20:34

Oh LOTI Sad. I'm sorry to say it but it doesn't sound like DH has changed one iota Angry. I don't know what to suggest, so i'll pass you a big glass of wine and a spot on the sofa to come and cuddle up with me and tweakers for a group hug Smile

tweakers · 03/09/2010 20:35

how many can we get on one sofa? Smile
god i wish you lot lived closer...

I know! I would so be round there right now to give you a big cosy cuddle :) Am well known for my overenthusiasm so it might even squeeze Pea out.

tweakers · 03/09/2010 20:38

right, you can all stop being so bloody nice now, i need to stop crying!

cyteen · 03/09/2010 20:39

Hooray, VG is here too. It's just like the old days back in Contractors' Corner :)

CrispyTheCrisp · 03/09/2010 20:43

PMSL @ contractors corner, although i followed the by-pass round that one Grin

Cry away lady...... Smile

tweakers · 03/09/2010 20:43

do you reckon she's staying though? i reckon she's just sneaked in for a hug and now she's buggered off again....

CrispyTheCrisp · 03/09/2010 20:43

Oh, and if you wait 5 minutes there will be chish and fips to munch on....

hotterpotter · 03/09/2010 20:47
