tweakers · 01/09/2010 05:25

nothing to text about unless of course you want to know that I can't sleep! sorry to hear your appt rubbish dizz. I'm off to post office today so there'll be something nice flying up your way for tomorrow/fri

crisp...she made it to the new school year!

Well, Pea is now officially a September girl. I've got her at home for an extra year but it does mean that we won't have DS doing A-levels when she's doing her GCSEs

COME ON BABY!!!!!!!!

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/09/2010 06:42

Morning tweakers Smile. Sorry it came to nought last night. Today is another beautiful day so you won't want to be stuck indoors giving birth today Grin

GRRRRR that your appointment was shite dizz Sad. Are they doing any more tests/MRI?

DD2 woke at 2.45am and i put her back into her bed twice and she went back to sleep with not a murmer . DH woke me when he left at 4.45am to go away to work and then DD1 (swiftly followed by DD2) up at 6.15 . The girls are now playing lego on the floor by my bed which is very cute, although slight drama as DD1 fell down the stairs carrying the lego box down. Just another day........

hotterpotter · 01/09/2010 06:51

Morning Crispy, my two up at stupid o'clock this morning too, but so am I as it's a work day Sad better go and get ready...

springaporesling · 01/09/2010 07:20

Tweakers hope things get moving soon. DB was doing his A Levels when I did my GCSEs - don't think it was much fun for Mum and Dad!

DS also up early.

Cyteen I'm sure DS will have a big leap soon and you can rest assured it's nothing to do with you. DS speaks well but there is still a huge difference between him and his cousin who speaks incredibly well and always has but there are a couple of friends in our group who have very few words and a couple who have recently been to have their hearing tested again just to be on the safe side.

I have been worrying a bit about DS myself but more in terms of his social development. We went to a birthday party yesterday and DS played largely by himself whereas all the others seemed to be playing 'together' or at least in the same place. He wouldn't even sit with them at snack time and seems to have a very short attention span. Also trying to get him to do something he shouldn't is impossible he takes no notice of me whatsoever.

tweakers · 01/09/2010 08:07

crisp hmm, good point...don't want to waste good weather being stuck inside! Smile
wow..what a difference a day makes...i'm feeling v positive and relaxed about things at the moment

hots come on girl, shift a leg... you're going to be late for work!

spring what you wrote about S=T...again! He's alot happier playing by himself than in a big group. albs and pert will also confirm that getting him to sit and eat with us on the blanket for our picnic was impossible. I won't worry about T if you won't worry about S Grin

hotterpotter · 01/09/2010 08:54

Here I am again Smile despite alarm going off at 6am I only made it in to work at 8:20 Shock but that's because I have been for a lovely walk around town again this morning and ended up with a bucket barbecue from Sainsbos which will be perfect for camping next year and was the amazing bargain price of £3.74 Shock oh, and it's purple Grin

I think the main reason Thor is so chatty is that he has his big sister wittering in his ear all day,but like your DS Springa it is impossible to get him to stop doing something by words alone, he usually needs to be manhandled away from the scissors/pens/cliff edge etc... As far as i can tell ALL the Aug 08 babies are FAB and just doing it their own way Smile

Enjoy the sunshine today tweaky and hold off for tomorrow. I always felt sorry for Wednesday children from the rhyme, 'Wednesday's child is full of woe' although being a Thursday's child I have ended up about 10 miles away from where I was born Blush so it's probably bollocks Grin

Happy Birthday cyteeny Grin

GladioliBuckets · 01/09/2010 09:05

Tweakers September of course! Had forgotten what a big watershed 1st Sep is. Oh well, at least you won't have to drive her around at 17 and as designated driver she won't be drinking as much as her friends!

Cyteen Having been there twice, I would say invite your HV round for a chat about it. It's worth getting on a waiting list for S&L assessment because the wait is so long, if he suddenly makes a big leap you can always cancel the appointment. Knowing for sure if there is/isn't a problem is far better than worrying and if there is, there's no point beating yourself up about it. Worth calling the HV just to get all that off your own shoulders. But if you leave it til you are ready to deal with it, you will kick yourself for having to wait 3months or however long the waiting list is.

Had lovely day paddling at the Common yesterday with friends, DH took DD & Kurt home so me and DS1 stayed to play. Until...we were just packing up and DS1 vanished! Was a good half hour looking for him and the Common is massive, has a 5k running route around it, was wondering when I should call the police. Luckily I guessed right that he would head back towards where our car had been parked, even though I'd told him we getting a lift with friends. Found him with a lady who was failing to get any sense from him and also wondering when to call the police. DS1 wasn't too upset, just thought he was in trouble when I mentioned the policeGrin.
I recovered from my ordeal by dropping him home and going out for tapas and Holby City at friend's house!

tweakers · 01/09/2010 09:06

oi! i'm a wednesday child... i think...hmm.. you've got me intrigued now so i'm off to check!

trust me, if she wants to be born today... i aint getting in her way!!!!!

tweakers · 01/09/2010 09:10

nope, apparently i'm a Thursday child Smile

buckets ooh yes! hadn't realised about the whole driving thing! v good point Grin

good grief! you must have been so worried about N... v pleased all's well that end's well
hmmmm, tapas.....

oh and i realised this morning that i completely jinxed Pea arriving on time... i've got some of my favourite pg banned cheeses in the fridge that i bought a few weeks ago. they're going to be past their best before at this rate!

alittlebitshy · 01/09/2010 09:51

just marking my place.

cyteen · 01/09/2010 09:53

Happy birthday to my darling boy :) Although it hasn't been happy for him so far, he woke up in a grump and had a massive tantrum when we had to leave the house (not surprising given his attachment to his new birthday Brio and vehicular garage). And he cried in a tragic fashion when we got to nursery :(

Tweakers it's a deal! I always thought Friday was a nice one - DS is one too (not sure if you can wait that long). I was born on a Monday Hmm

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MASTERCYTEEN

Also must be v.exciting now it is your wedding month!

VG Makes perfect sense. I can't shut DS up whether in a group or not - especially singing rather loudly. Have just really confused him by recording his singing the alphabet song on my phone and playing it back to him.

Buckets hope you are over your scare - sounds like my perfect evening Smile

GladioliBuckets · 01/09/2010 12:28

VG Still getting him tested but feeling a bit more optimistic about him, he starts at CM next week 2 days a week so perhaps more company will have magical results.

oopsandbabycoconuts · 01/09/2010 16:59

Haapy Birthday J.

Been for a day out in Bath with the Crispys. Much fun was had by all, lunch at Waggymummys was delicious and then we hit the shops :) DH has some funky new tops and I have some boring BF ones.

Need to do some catching up.

Back post witching hour!

tweakers · 01/09/2010 17:29

just in case anyone was wondering... Pea's still where she was yesterday!

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/09/2010 19:08

Happy birthday J. Welcome to the terrible wonderful twos Grin

We have had a lovely day with the CoconutCrew after a bad start with the garage Hmm. The girls had a lovely time in the park in the sunshine and we were treated to a lovely lunch and then shopped until the toddlers could take it no more we dropped. I got two lovely tops from Fat Face and some twist up ice lolly makers from Lakeland.

Bath has been had to wash all the sand off (and spaghetti hoops from DD2's hair Hmm) and Peppa Pig on now whilst i summon the energy to fight put the small people to bed

tweakers your cheese will be walking out of the fridge on its own to meet you in the birth pool. Perfection Grin

cyteen · 01/09/2010 21:28

Arf Crispy Grin The day out sounds wonderful. Weather was great here too, a shame to be at work really.

DS seems to have enjoyed his birthday, albeit bookended by tantrums Grin I am having a celebratory glass or two of wine and feeling all nostalgic for tiny baby days.

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/09/2010 21:31

Yay, hello cyteen. I thought i must have let off a farty pop Blush

Enjoy your wine. 2 years ago you worked very hard to deserve your tipple tonight Grin

cyteen · 01/09/2010 21:31

Not that I'd change a thing, of course :)

cyteen · 01/09/2010 21:32

lol, you're not wrong! This time two years ago I was semi-propped up in bed thinking 'wtf?' and staring at his little face.

Tomorrow is the 2nd anniversary of my piles Grin

hotterpotter · 01/09/2010 21:38

Yay Cyteen for two birthdays in a row Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/09/2010 21:39

Ah, well now that is worth raising a glass to Grin

Sadly mine is only diet coke, due to a disastrously calorific lunch, but i shall raise a glass to J and his lovely Mummy and Daddy Smile

GladioliBuckets · 01/09/2010 21:43

Hej hej as they say in Ikea.
Popped round for a cuppa to BF's tonight and we have hatched a plan to spend my not-yet-earned earnings. In May we will fly to Portugal for 5 nights in her cousin's appartment! If we go on a Saturday, DH only needs 3 or 4 days off work and 2 of those Kurt will be at CM so he's happy with that. He can then have 5 nights couchsurfing in London to himself while me and the kids couchsurf chez my folks and my DSis's daft new mansion. Hurrah! Spent the evening whipping ourselves into a frenzy about eating grown up food, travelling light and only taking up so much floorspace for once.
Brilliant end to a crap day (spent hiding from the world playing FrontiervilleBlush.)
