Well ladies, it's a bit in advance but here is the new thread, started especially early for Saartjie!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
KFW · 15/10/2010 16:45

Hello again

I am sort of embarrassed to ask this - and even thought about name changing and posting a specific thread (which is still an option if you ladies have not had this charming experience!), but here goes....

Today at just one day shy of 39 weeks, I have got piles Sad . I realise they are probably more likely as the babiy's head engages and puts pressure down there, but I thought I had escaped!

At least I think that's what it is. It has literally just appeared today. I am sure it's not a bad case in the scheme of things yet, but I wanted to ask you people on here (if you have had the pleasure of this!) whether over the counter creams are a) ok in pregnancy and b) good enough. I'd obviously rather control it early on before it grows!!!! Should i see the doc instead? The most ridiculously irritating thing is that I had a GP appointment this morning and it was all fine, so I didn't mention anything. It has literally, erm... popped out, this afternoon. Don't you just love being pregnant Grin

Any tips gratefully received. Otherwise, I may have to launch a scary new thread.

Cheers ladies Blush

Jenko77 · 15/10/2010 16:57

KFW No experience of piles as yet (thank God!) but I would suggest popping back to the GP - you want to get the strongest stuff you can, and most pharmacies tend to get scared when you want the strong drugs in pregnancy! Good luck with it!

Patsy and BabyB That is depressing. I would have thought knowing that nothing is going to happen for at least another week would be positive (as it avoids the constant analysis of every ache and pain) but I can see how it would actually just make things worse. Sad
My LO has been 3/5 engaged since 37 weeks, but that doesn't mean anything is imminent. Will def ask MW for a sweep next week when I see her, if I'm still pregnant then (forever hopeful!).

BabyRoosMum · 15/10/2010 18:19

:( i have piles too....fun times!! Have just been to Asda and bought some prep H, which is safe to use in pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding. I guess it would be best to see midwife or GP but as I'M "on the other side" I'm hoping it won't get any worse. If I was still preggers, I would definitely speak to midwife....

Can't believe there are no more October babies yet....hurry up babies!!! Baby Roo is lonely on his own! :)

We are having fun with the LO in the house...the cats have re-appeared after several days missing; the high-pitched baby cries are too much for them! LO is doing fantastically....he has already learnt to soothe himself to sleep (I put him down awake as an experiment and he was fine, have no problems at all putting him down now, so long as he is tired!)

I'll keep checking back and hope to see more bambinos on here soon....feel real bad for all you and your bumps that have gone over. My DP told me the other day that he was slightly disappointed I didn't go over, as he was ready to offer his services to bring baby on....typical!!!!!

Hevster · 15/10/2010 20:32

KFW no personal exp on the farmer giles' but i have read threads where people have just asked the chemist for stuff and there is stuff that is safe when preg. prob get stronger stuff off gp though - hope they improve

Hello hello hello! Our beautiful son Danny London was born yesterday at 18:02 weighing 6lbs 12oz. He is utterly perfect and I love him more and more every minute.

We had to stay in overnight because my waters broke and they had a greenish tinge, but he was absolutely fine. I escaped with a little graze for damage so I feel incredibly lucky! I had to have an epidural in the end because the second stage passed so quickly I had no time to ramp up and prepare myself. The effect was amazing and I was able to relax totally until the time came to push him out, which took all of ten minutes. I credit that to the epidural because I had enough energy to put loads of effort into pushing. I'd recommend it to anyone who feels they're struggling; there really is no shame in it.

So sorry to hear of everyone who is overdue or suffering :-( KFW; I hope you feel better really soon.

Xxx

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 15/10/2010 22:32

Hi everyone!

I've been absent from this thread for ages... Had lots if time in hospital and a few complications bur finally my baby Tilly was born on Tuesday 12th October by C section and is absolutely the most amazing thing I will ever do in my life. I am more in love with her every second... Didn't sleep for two nights in hospital because I couldn't stop staring at her...

Hope everyones babies come soon! And congrats to those who already have them :) Xxx

PatsyIsPreggers · 16/10/2010 09:26

Congratulations Jazzie and Anything. Glad to hear your little ones have arrived safe and sound, even if it meant a stay in hospital for you Anything.

Hope you are both settling back in at home with your new little bundles of joy.

Seems midwife was probably right that my LO is quite comfortable for the moment, as despite the attempted sweep yesterday, I've not felt even the slightest twinge yet. So off for another long walk up the hill today, and probably curry for dinner tonight! At least the sun is shining and all the autumn colours are on the trees, and as it's a Saturday I can drag DH along up the hill with me.

Hope the rest of you are enjoying this lovely autumn weather too.

Jacksmybaby · 16/10/2010 11:22

Hurray huge congrats Jazzie and anything... !! And snap on the DD name anything... !!

KFW, managed to avoid piles throughout pg then get them post-natally due to the constipation!! Blush Nice. My tip on that front is to avoid codeine like the plague!! Luckily not too bad so haven't taken anything for them and they seem to have subsided now... but try pharmacy or GP.

BabyRoosmum Grin at your DP's offer! And glad all is well with your LO.

All is well here. At my mum and step=dad#s for the w\e so getting some help with the DCs which is nice!!

YummyMummy1208 · 16/10/2010 11:47

Congrats to the 2 new arrivals - making me slightly jealous now :) Hope you're enjoying your LO's even with the lack of sleep!

Still no sign of my LO altho we do have another 9 days until D-Day so cant expect too much! Be nice to get her out a few days early tho...hmmm the thought of shopping again for lots of nice new skinny clothes i cant wait!
And being able to shave my legs in the bath without a mass mission commencing! Oh im getting excited now, i must stop.

Hevster · 16/10/2010 13:51

Well done and congratulations to Jazzie and Anything. welcome to the group that should be renamed lack of sleep!

Jenko77 · 16/10/2010 16:33

Congratulations to Jazzie and Anything.

There can't be many of us on here still waiting now, can there....?

The way I see it, if nothing happens in the meantime, I will be going in on 26th to be induced, so should have my baby within the next 2 weeks, no matter how determined he is to stay put! Smile.

YummyMummy1208 · 16/10/2010 19:36

Nooo you're all going to leave me alone, waiting for baby to arrive! :( i could possibly go all the way to 8th november if i end up 2 weeks overdue....not happening if i have anything to do with it by the way!
Even tho im crapping myself about the labour (dont ask me why as ive done it all before and it was fine but im totally freaking out now!) i just want to not be pregnant.

Who is still waiting apart from me??

My friend was due on the 6th and still no sign of baby, bless her. think id be going out of my mind but she seems ok.

RooBear · 16/10/2010 20:37

Congratulations anything and jazzie don't worry yummy I'm still here with you, I've been playing diana ross's 'i'm coming out' to flump to spur them on-any other suggestions?! Grin

MummyBeth · 17/10/2010 15:44

Hi,

I used to post here at the begining of our pregnancies - you may not even remember me - but I thought I'd say hi, I have been trying to follow but could never seem to keep up nor did I have anything interesting to share!

Thought I'd make those over due feel better as I'm still on the ante natal side too! Was due yesterday (Saturday).

I try to keep positive by saying that each day over due is a bonus pregnancy day and an extra day where it's just me and the baby.

I also enjoy playing the 'is this it?' game. I know that when it really gets going there'll be no mistaking it but I love interpretating every braxton hick, twinge down below and desire to clean something.

Helps pass the time if nothing else.

Hevster · 17/10/2010 18:45

welcome back mummyB glad all is still well with you, hope LO puts in an appearance soon

Jenko77 · 18/10/2010 07:51

Hi all,

Another week and still no baby - 40+4 today. Tried everything this weekend, but nothing is shifting this baby. Think I'll go out and buy my own bodyweight in pineapples today and give that a go.

Hi MummyBeth Is this your first DC? Glad I'm not the only overdue one on here now! I'm the same as you - enjoying pregnancy and the fact that I don't have to share LO, but just desperate to become a mum!! Smile

KFW · 18/10/2010 09:10

Happy Monday everyone!

Congratulations anything and jazzie
So exciting for you!

Still no movement here, but I am not due until this Saturday so I can't complain.

My DH wants our little one's DOB to be 20.10.2010, so I am doing my best to get things moving, but I am not terribly optimistic! Is/did anyone else's bump defy the usual course of events and actually get more active the less space there is Hmm? She seems to be having a whale of a time in there.

Anyone else suffering from a cold? I picked one up over the weekend and my lung capacity is now amusingly small. In a way I hope I don't go into labour too soon because I don't think I'll be able to do my yoga breathing Grin The crusty red nose also ennhances the all-over pregnancy look. I am revolting.

YummyMummy1208 · 18/10/2010 23:44

Hello ladies,

Not in a fantastic mood atm. Im up again due to heartburn, been up downstairs most nights between 1am and 3 but its hit earlier tonite so i guess i wont be getting much sleep again tonite. :(
I hate being pregnant now and just want her out. I feel so claustrophobic aswell, like i just want my own space - my own bed instead of having half of it taken up by OH. Im hoping this is just pregnancy uncomfort talking and that itl go away once baby is here but i just want my own bed to spread eagle in! and im sick of my friggin ribs aching, argh! hating life rite now can anyone tell?

6 days till D-Day and i thought she was going to be earlier than DS1 - not looking likely at this rate!

How is everyone else? Hopefully not as peed off as me although im sure this is normal for this late stage in pregnancy rite?

KFW · 19/10/2010 08:55

Oh yummy you poor thing. I agree that it is all a bit too uncomfortable now but focus on this: whichever way you look at it, it isn't much longer now Smile

I have really been trying to get the baby out. DH has been doing his bit Hmm - boys blatantly love any excuse. My preferred techniques are bouncing on my exercise ball and drinking raspberry leaf tea. If I drink much more I'll turn pink!

Unfortunately, I simply cannot stomach a hot curry at the moment. This is most unlike me as I do like spicy food, but there we go. Off for a (snotty) long walk today...

And I do hope someone is warming up for a devliery on 20.10.2010! Jenko?!

Later ladies

X

Hevster · 19/10/2010 09:31

morning all, Yummy sorry you are having a tough time Sad KFW also have cold and crusty red nose so much sympathy.

DD2 is 2 weeks old in 30 mins and if anyone else has a section, don't be worried about the recovery because I feel almost normal and that's after a day of shopping in Bath yesterday (not that any clothes fit but still nice to look!)
Am currently having a private party (attendee's being myself and Isabella) as we have the house to ourselves today (DH has gone back to work) and it's so lovely and peaceful.

Hurry up all you 20.10.2010 babies

PatsyIsPreggers · 19/10/2010 09:39

SOunds like all of us who haven't popped yet are desperate to meet our little ones now!

I had agonising period pain type cramps all day yesterday, so bad that I couldn't sit / stand / walk / lie down or anything comfortably - just didn't know what to do with myself. Then they eased off just in time for bed, so I was lucky I at least got some rest last night, but now the pains are starting again. Is this a sign? Will they turn into contractions? they were spreading up my tummy yesterday...

Sorry got to get up and walk around now - too painful to sit still any longer.

KFW · 19/10/2010 09:53

Eeeeeeeeeeeek patsy. That sounds promising to me - not that I have any idea what I am talking about. Keep us posted! And maybe keep your legs crossed until 00:01am for the cool DOB? Grin

Jacksmybaby · 19/10/2010 14:31

Patsy that sounds like contractions to me!! Good luck!!

Yummy poor u, sorry u are feeling so shitty.

BabyRoosMum · 19/10/2010 15:29

Congrats to anything and jazzie ...hope everything is well with you!

Not managing to get on the computer so much at the mo, as when I have got a spare few minutes, I'm sitting and doing nothing or napping :)

Everything is going well here....my bestest friend is coming to stay for a few days tomorrow tp help me out a bit as DP is back at work on Thursday. So I guess this is where things start to get "back to normal" ... or how normal will be from now on!

We took LO to be registered yesterday and I had my first major challenge- feeding the baby whilst out and about. Still not brave enough to try BF in public, so used the little feeding room in house of fraser...not fun, a bit grim to be honest so am going to try a quiet corner of a cafe next time. I'm not bothered about feeding him in pubic, we just aren't a very eligent pair at the mo (boobs galore everywhere at feeding time!!) so feel like I need to practise a little more and then the world is our oyster :) Will be having a look for other MN-ers whilst online to see what tips there are for helping with this :)

Good luck again ladies, hope to be back soon... :o

Jenko77 · 19/10/2010 16:26

Oh Patsy, that does sound promising. I've been reading far to much into every ache, pain and twinge I get, but mine are all just pregnancy-related rather than labour-related. Sad

Off to see the midwife tomorrow and will beg for a sweep - then fingers crossed for a 20.10.2010 baby - although a 19.10.2010 baby would be even better!!

I'm also on the raspberry leaf tea, and making DH do his bit too Grin (despite the tricky logistics Blush) but nothing is shifting this LO.

40+5 and getting fed up now.
