Well ladies, it's a bit in advance but here is the new thread, started especially early for Saartjie!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
babybunting2010 · 06/10/2010 08:38

Hi jenko, i know what you mean about being busy i'm in week 4 of mat leave and i struggle to find a day to myself. I've got nothing booked today but am already thinking i might go see my mum or dad. That's if i can drag my bum out of bed! :) x

RooBear · 06/10/2010 09:06

congratulations HEV I want to meet my LO NOW.............................................................................................................................................! I'm only 37+4 could have 5 weeks yet! might join you ladies in a nothing day, I have actually ran out of things to do already and spent yesterday cleaning mirrors and windows.

It could be a show BB I had something a bit like taht a couple of days ago but wasn't sure if it was just thick discharge as there was no blood.

Hevster · 06/10/2010 16:50

Well we are home! Tis all pretty sore but it is nice to be in my own bed. Caused a couple of panics at the hospital by losing too much blood during the opp and then blood presure went too low but all improving now. Hope your babies hurry up and if any of u end up having a catheta it's great being able to drink tons of tea and not having to get up to pee!

Jacksmybaby · 06/10/2010 17:35

Wow u are home quick Hev! That's great.

Jenko u reminded me that today was the day I was due to have elcs (38+6, was on same timing as u)!

Very excited as I squeezed into a pair of non-maternity jeans today (ok a size 14 from my curvier days, now usually a size 10/12 - but it's a start!) Smile

KFW · 06/10/2010 17:36

Hi girlies. Just checking in for the day.

Hev that comment re tea pee really made me smile! I am so pleased it went well.

Can I just share my Angry with you all? I am getting my nursing chair delivered tomorrow (I have been seriously excited about this for weeks. Sad I know, but it is a real luxury as we have bought a beautiful one Smile). I booked a AM delivery rather than PM, but I was told this afternoon that it would in fact be an afternoon delivery and that the "window" is between 12noon and 7pm. Now, I dont want to be difficult, and maybe it's just the pregnancy hormones talking (what am i going to do when I cant blame them? Grin) but, really? That is a SEVEN HOUR window. More like a doorway IMO. Annoyingly, I am supposed to be going out for a cup of tea and a slice of cake with my NCT mums at 345pm and it's looking unlikely.
Sulk.

Does anyone else think it's a bit off? When I complained the woman said that I could pay an extra £25 and have it delivered on Friday. I have already paid £50 for delivery so my feeling is that they can naff off, but I don't want to cut off my nose to spite my face. Ho hum. I was nice down the phone, but very firm Grin. Didn't get me very far though! You'd think they would at least pay for the redelivery on Friday as it's their fault. Grrrrrrr.

Sorry for super long ranty boring post. On a purely selfish note, I feel better for sharing though Smile

babyb - that sounds like progress to me...

Jenko77 · 06/10/2010 18:40

KFW That is a bit bad that you pay £50 for delivery and they change the times on you - I would certainly be asking for money back for the delivery, or at least a delivery time of your choice. I don't think it's just your hormones - they're in the wrong IMO. Could you invite your NCT mums round to your place for tea instead? If not, then here's hoping they deliver nice and early for you so you can still get out in the arvo.

No news from the midwife today - still 3/5 engaged and growing well, so carried on cleaning the house this arvo.

Hev and Jacks Silly question in the grand scheme of things, but did the catheta hurt? I'm a bit nervous about that (not that I'm planning a CS, but you never know!)

Jacks So we were due the same date, and you're back in your pre-preg jeans already!? Confused Well done girl!

Jacksmybaby · 06/10/2010 19:56

KFW agree that is REALLY annoying and not on at all.

Jenko re the catheter, no I don't think it hurt particularly going in (although think I was on the gas and air by that stage both times so prob slightly out of it tbh Grin) or coming out. You can't feel it at all once it's in.

Hev how r u doing?

x

myBabySweepstake · 06/10/2010 21:08

Hi Ladies,

Congratulations to those of you who have had your baby already, I hope everything goes well for you if you are still waiting.

I have 2 girls, one aged 3 and one aged 9 months. While I was waiting for my first (she was 12 days late!) I wrote www.mybabysweepstake.com - a website that lets your friends and family guess on your baby's arrival date, weight and gender. Please feel free to have a go for your new arrivals.

Thanks,

Kerry

YummyMummy1208 · 07/10/2010 10:57

Hi Ladies,

Gosh, i dont check in for a few days and theres lots to catch up on! :)
My first week of maternity leave hasnt exactly gone to plan, spent the first 3 days of it being ill with a stomach bug or stomach flu :( it seemed to have disappeared but then came back last night which was strange. but running to the loo to be sick when nearly 9 months pregnant doesnt work very well i can assure u that!

MIL has DS1 today so i am planning on enjoying some me time and a little cleaning time (just to make me feel like the day has been productive! Wink)
How is everyone this week? Congratulations Hevster! Your baby is here! How are you coping? Bet its all go in your house at the moment, those first few weeks are crazy i remember.

Hope we're all ok.xx

DillyDora · 07/10/2010 11:01

Hi all,

Lovely to read your posts (and know that a catheter is no drama - I have a morbid fear of them!) cheered me up no end. I went for my birth centre asssessment yesterday only to find that my BP was up again, protein in urine, bloods from last week not great...blah blah... so up I went AGAIN to maternity day unit for more monitoring. BP came down to within acceptable limits and after a few glasses of water, protein was down too but I am wfh today and back in tomorrow. Tomorrow is last day at work, and I am now only allowed to do half the day as the mw wants me back on those monitors by lunchtime. Sorry to be a wuss, I really do know it could be so much worse (they could have admitted and induced me!) but I'm feeling quite Sad I had been so healthy up to now (apart from swollen feet & ankles and SPD which after all didn't hurt LO or me in any permanent way...). Baby Toby is fine, I suppose I may end up having a scan to see what is happening with the placenta... I just wanted my lovely natural birth and now I feel scared of the dreaded medical intervention...

Sorry...big selfish moan...

babybunting2010 · 07/10/2010 14:47

kfw not unreasonable at all think thats awful.

Yummy hope the stomach bug gets better soon.

Dilly don't worry abouh the moan... Totally understand. Keep us up to date hope it all sorts itself out shortly.

I'm about to have a moan I'm afraid... Ended up taking myself to consultant begging them to induce me or something as losing will to go on! I know that sounds awful but I just feel so fed up I can't explain why, maybe it's a sign of being a bad mum I hope not. Think I might have to keep an eye on depression soon! Fun and probably an over reaction but would rather get it out there.

Jacks and Hev big kisses to you and yours!!!!

X

DillyDora · 07/10/2010 16:17

Hey babyb how do you mean? Just fed up emotionally or what? Of course it's not a sign of you being a bad mum but it could be a sign of depression. What did the consultant say?

YummyMummy1208 · 07/10/2010 17:40

Oh babyb sorry you feel crap, totally know where you're coming from though as im just so snappy, moody and uncomfortable these days im just as fed up as you by the sounds. When are/were you due?

Oh god help me. MIL just pulled up!

YummyMummy1208 · 07/10/2010 17:49

Feel slightly bad now as she only popped by to give me some handprints of DS1 as hes been with her today and had his hands in the photocopier!

Had a nice day to myself today, had chance to clear out the wardrobe and have a sneak peak at all those old clothes ill soon be back into! Grin its the only thing keeping me going rite now as i just am totally sick of being pregnant and even more sick of the sound of my whining!

Its strange, now its so close im actually starting to panic a bit about the labour - when iv already done it before and nothing went wrong, well apart from the stitches which in my opinion was more mentally scaring than the labour itself! So i dont know why im starting to panic, OH keeps suggesting we go for a bumpy ride to try move things along and im like - no, im not ready for labour yet! but at the same time i totally want baby out! crazy. May also have something to do with the lashing i just gave my poor OH, totally bit his head off at every subject he started over dinner and told him to bugger off out the house so he has gone to the golfing range leaving me guilt ridden. :(

JazzieJeff · 07/10/2010 19:30

babyb no don't think that's an overreaction at all; I think you want your body back! I'm living in leggings and flip flops at the moment and it doesn't exactly make you feel sexy. The tiredness feels bottomless, and I think that counts for a lot as well. Don't forget you've not had a period for 9 months, I'd forgotten how rubbish I used to feel with pmt. Now I bloody remember! It feels like I've got pmt x 1000; I'm so tired, achey and pissed off and I feel so tense... It doesn't help!

dilly so sorry to hear you're still poorly; I don't wonder you're pissed off! You're right; at least you've been healthy so far, but that doesn't make you feel any better does it?!

yummy hope you managed to get some relaxing in amongst all that cleaning! I know what you mean about mixed feelings for labour; every twinge I get I'm excited for a second, but then terrified in case it's the baby coming because I'm not ready. I never will be.

babybunting2010 · 07/10/2010 20:17

thanks ladies! Knew you'd make me feel better! Don't know what i'd have done in pregnancy without you all! :) x

DillyDora · 08/10/2010 09:29

Morning, hope you're feeling a bit better BabyB...am I right in thinking that the p*ssed off feeling can be part of labour? Feeling PMTish I mean?

I'm in work for this last half day but feeling very odd indeed - had period painish pains the last couple of days, and now very very strong BH type feelings, and have been pooping for England! (sorry TMI!) and feel sick...very odd. A bit teary and kind of wish I wasn't hear to be honest but... No show or anything, but I wonder if things are happening?! Will be back at the hosp by lunchtime so I guess they can tell me then!

cheekymonkeyno3 · 08/10/2010 09:46

hi all, just checking in to see how everyone was doing. as fed up as me i guess. on a positive very very excited about moving house tomorrow. parts of me are grateful that i still have a few weeks to settle in before the baby arrives but i have really had enough now and just want a cuddle.

YummyMummy1208 · 08/10/2010 12:04

Hello Ladies, well last day of my first week off and its a strange feeling. Nice thinking...oh god iv got work tomorrow then realising actually no i havent! But then i think god im not going to have anything to actually get up for for probably a year at least, how will i manage!? So i dont know how i feel rite now!

I hope you wont be doing too much work with the moving house cheekymonkey, you have the perfect excuse to sit back and point to where you want things put! Grin Try not to let it stress you out too much, you dont want to go into labour in the middle of the move! Wink

Keep getting these horrid twinges downstairs as what i described to my partner last night as feeling as though the baby has just stuck a knife out her sack down towards my lady bits Blush and TMI i know. only happens every now and then but i never had them with my first and i never know when one will happen so they almost send me to the floor if im walking they feel so weird. anyone else getting anythin similar?
Having a braxton hicks day today and finding it quite hard to walk due to pressure down in my pelvis, please be over soon!

Whens the next october due date then? cant believe how fast october is going, iknew it would, 17 days left and counting!

babybunting2010 · 08/10/2010 12:53

hi yummy i'm due the 10th but no movement on the labour front! Feeling a load more positive today feeling very happy for some reason today. Making the most of not wanting to cry all day! X

JazzieJeff · 08/10/2010 14:57

babyb glad you're feeling better; snap so am I! Slept really badly last night and felt rubbish when I got up, so I went back for a lie in and I am so glad I did; feel far more sociable now!

dilly I know what you mean, it did occur to me this could all be part of the process. Plus, to be honest I wouldn't know if I'd had a show and perhaps it'd just fallen down the loo (sorry tmi!); it's not like I look at what I've just done and inspect it with pride.

I'm expecting I'll go overdue though, aren't first babies always late? So I've lined myself up something nice to do every day next week so I'm not just sat here fed up waiting for things to happen. X

DillyDora · 08/10/2010 19:39

Glad you're feeling better babyb and you Jazzie! I went to the hosp again for more monitoring, same ol' same ol' - still worrying that I have pre-eclampsia so seeing the consultant on Monday and have to collect 24 hrs of wee for him! Nice! Have very attractive bottle to collect it all in! Baby is fine, and I feel fine, but there is too much protein in my urine so they need to monitor me. If it is pre-eclampsia they'll induce me.... we shall see.

Going to try to have the most relaxed w/e I can ... think we all need to rest up before the birth, don't we?!

JazzieJeff · 08/10/2010 19:48

dilly 24hrs of wee?! Jesus, I'd have to use a massive bottle! I'd have to pitch up at the consultants office with a couple of 2ltr fanta bottles in hand!

Had a macaroni cheese a la delia tonight... Stuffed my puffy pregnant little face and it was lush ;-)

Hope you all have an exciting Friday night
Xx

DillyDora · 08/10/2010 19:59

Jazzie I know! They've given me a bottle with a capacity of 2.5l - I promise to let you know how close I get to filling it Wink

Oooh macaroni cheese - lush! As for an exciting night, that really doesn't mean what it used to does it?!

Jacksmybaby · 09/10/2010 18:50

Hey all. My turn for a whinge! We are having a bit of a rough time atm. DD is turning out to be just like her big bro and a very colicky baby!! We have invested in one of these baby carriers which is invaluable for getting anything done - although oddly like being heavily pg again with her cuddled right up to my tummy! Confused. (Definitely recommend the carrier over and above the Baby Bjorn-type onese which is what we had with DS.)

Up all night last night (DH til 4a.m., me from 4 onwards Sad). Argghhh!! Enjoy those last few precious child-free days those of you that can!

She is still lovely though. Smile

Hope all well. x
