Actually I should make more of an effore with it, some pine nuts and maybe some hemp seeds or flax. Hmmm.

Hattie onto her 3rd little mouthfull. She eats the rice with her hands. DD1 sat in playroom cackling in front of Madagascar, which has been on loop since about 11am Hmm Oh well, she needs some down time an even time alone after the bedlam of school

School said dancing was until 4.30, yet she was the last child there at 4.20. What did I miss?

Busy day Tink.

Awww Tree it's all good, stop feeling guilty about the tv, the food etc. You provide them with love, love and love, every child needs a mum like you. Mine had BBQ chicken legs, rice and salad (which was ignored mostly) Grin My 2 watch vast amounts of CBeebies, especially the new series of show me show me which they both adore. Heck I sleep trained mine ruthlessly early on and was a horrid mummy about it. You're fab!

missjackson · 13/09/2010 17:59

Loving the lists! Here's what I did today:

Tea and jaffa cakes in bed with OH and N (this is how we start each day)
Made coffee and ate crunchy nut cornflakes (my latest craving) while my Dad fed N (he is staying).
Showered, dressed, dried hair.
Drove to Glasbury to wave my brother off on a canoe trip with 14 other stoners young men - one of them had a dog along, and after the group photo, they all loaded into the canoes and set off - and forgot the effing dog!
Drove 3 miles downstream with the forgotton dog to intercept the canoeists.
Quick trip around Hay - bought birthday cards and horse feed.
Home - lay on sofa and watched Location while N finished nap in car.
Made N beans on toast.
Came upstairs to put away clean washing (my first attempt at housework all day you will note) and MN instead.

Any news from dog? Off to check...

moosemama · 13/09/2010 18:00

Evening

Tea, dd absolutely loves Show Me Show Me. She sings along to the theme tune - its so cute.

Tink - do you not have a dishwasher either. Sounds like you do almost as much washing up as I do!

I have got just about zilch done since my proactive morning ended. Just a couple of loads of washing and yet more washing up - oh and making everyone's lunches of course and ds1's after school snack. Hmm

Ds1 absolutely loved swimming. He came out of school with a huge smile on his face - which was lovely. Of course he is convinced he can 'already do it all', which is fairly typical of him when trying anything new. I'm sure he will be brought down to size over the next few weeks. Grin

Unfortunately, we hadn't been in the house 10 minutes when the anti-homework meltdown started, culminating in a big ruck between me and ds, which my Mum tried and failed to adjudicate. Sad

We have had a hug and made friends now, but I am very Sad at the prospect of this being a nightly event for the rest of the school year. I have told him he will be doing a bit of homework every night after school from now on, so there can never be any arguments about whether or not he has to do some. If he has nothing set he can practise his spellings or times tables.

Such attitude from an 8 year old. Honestly, if I didnt know better, I'd think he was a teenager already! Shock

We have leftover gluten-free veggie lasagne with peas and oven chips for tea tonight. Full-on shove it in the oven job. [lazy Moose emoticon]

moosemama · 13/09/2010 18:01

MissJ, do you want to swap lives for a bit? Grin

treedelivery · 13/09/2010 18:07

Ooo MissJ. You are Queen of the Thread. Waaay to spend a day

The girls ate! Mracle. dd1 had a mango too, so very happy. Did a poo at school. And dh got printer stuff on way home aso about to do battle and print off invites. Possibly.

Also had an email about uentin Blakes new wall paper range at Fabrics&Papers. Am now torn between about 4 different papers. I have vauge and unfunded plans to move H into the girls bedroom adn redecorate it. Hmmm.....£50 per roll of paper....hmmmm.....

Lenni · 13/09/2010 18:44

Tree - I absolutely love hearing about your spending schemes and poverty. You admit to everything I do in secret! It is fab. I have vague plans to spend the best part of 100 grand I reckon, of course it mostly won't happen but a girl has to dream.

Today I did no chores of any consequence and went to find DH a shirt for a wedding and ended up with Christmas paper and got so annoyed with old biddies giving me judgemental looks I left without the shirt. Ah well, thankfully there is online shopping available later. I might make a late night dash to the Trafford Centre one night.

Sorry have lost train of thought. Catch up on proper computer after bedtime.

missjackson · 13/09/2010 18:57

But I was just thinking (while lounging in the bath Blush) that things must really change once (a) number two comes along and (b) you start with nursery/ school hours to keep to. So I must enjoy it while it lasts. The grass is always greener, don't you find?

treedelivery · 13/09/2010 18:58

I also had a spending accident. I bought some trousers from Zara, and some shoes to go with. Happily I know they would only look good on a size 8 person, so they will be 99.9999% able to go back.
It's crazy buying online with a view to return, but the p&p is cheaper than a trip to nearest Zara.
Got dd an outfit too. She is always dressed in really traditional clothes, very 'chosen by mumsy'. Am a bit worried her school friends will think she's really uncool if she doesn't cut the cool mustard. Have probably over compensated as I got her some very very trendy jodphurs, baggy loose blouse and skinny brown belt. I'd rather she wore her velour striped bootlegs from Boden, but there you go.
Hopefully the outfit will look sily too, and it can all go back. I got £50 cashback form some insurance, hence the spends. ALthough that should go towards the £180 dj........please don't hate me for spending such a crazy amount on the party!! I think it will be £250 in the end.
I tried not to have a class party, but with the background friendship angst, I felt I had to try do everything I could to keep her chanels of friendship open Sad
Another party this weekend she didn't get asked too, and it was a girl she likes and plays with. Poor thing.

Mind you, even the blooming sealife centre minmum spend is £120. ANd I'm in no head space to take any responsibilty for a party atmosphere. I'd be too upset if the party fell flat, gven all the worries I have. I've bought myself a lack of worry Grin
The big plus is her birthday pressi is costing £15. I Can't complain!

I want this for their wall paper. It would look lush with the white bunkbeds and their linen. Grin
DD wants stars and dinosaurs though.

treedelivery · 13/09/2010 19:10

I should get http://www.fabricsandpapers.com/item/view/5318-skateboarders-wallpaper/category/childrens-wallpaper though rally captures my wild ones.

treedelivery · 13/09/2010 19:12

It's happening for DOG!!!

hackneyzoo · 13/09/2010 19:19

OMG! Am bubbling over with Dog Baby excitement! My friend just had a DS too...ahh, tiny newborn babies.

Right off toread thread.

teaandcakeplease · 13/09/2010 19:31

First wallpaper looks lovely Tree. The second link didn't work and took me to a random web page that said "this" on it Confused

hackneyzoo · 13/09/2010 19:38

Don't even want to start with a list of today...think everyone would fall asleep reading it.

Just sold a baby back pack thing, baby bjorn and ergo style carrier thing on ebay and they went for double the amount I thought they would, am feeling a bit guilty now, as they are all used, but it does state thier condition clearly in the add. I think people go a bit crazy when it comes to bidding for baby stuff. But it means I have been able to justify the ergo I just bought on MN (BN and £60...bargain) and put away a stash for xmas pressie buying.

Nice wall paper Tree, v. shabby chic! Am a sucker for zara, but thier trousers are always way too long on me (am a short arse).

What are people getting thier toddler boys for xmas? I have no idea. (Apart from nothing Thomas the Tank related...I have an odd phobia of that train!) I am looking at a budget of about £30... is he too young for a balance bike do you think? Thought I might be able to find a cheapy second hand.

MissJ I am with you on the crunchy nut cornflakes, and jaffa cakes for breakfast for that matter. I seem to be into porridge and golden syrup big time too.

Moose, hope swimming went/goes well (was it today?) If you're not sure about the trip could you just hold off paying the deposit (I have squeezed kids in on residential trips at the last minute a few times)

tea, how is Noah doing this week? `And your DB and SIL?

Waves to Lenni and Tink and 120.

I have a stinking cold and am completely blocked up, and I have ridiculously itchy palms and the roof of my mouth for some reason. I had this last pregnancy and it drove me nuts. Any ideas on how to stop the itching?

Right, off to check the dogbaby thread.

treedelivery · 13/09/2010 19:48

How many weeks are you now hkz?

Moose's ds had a good swim, it's in a post somewhere Smile

Yay on the selling! this is the red heads paper Grin

teaandcakeplease · 13/09/2010 19:50

Noah is still struggling with digestion bless him. SIL and brother are getting by at the moment, I think they're living on adrenaline and caffeine tbh.

The shoes arrived and are so lovely! DD thinks they're gorgeous and is very excited. Far nicer than the cheap ones she usually gets from me Blush Thank you very much Smile

treedelivery · 13/09/2010 19:55

we got our first balance bike here - thi sis the chap that brought them to the UK. They have a mini that is good 18m to about 4.

It's their maxi I think dd would love love love.

Lenni · 13/09/2010 19:59

HKZ - DD has a balance bike. Has taken a while for it to be a hit, I got it for her 2nd birthday, also secondhand, she is pretty handy on it now though. She took to her scooter a lot earlier, but maybe if she hadn't had the scooter she would've perservered with the balance bike?

Think I'm going to ask PILs to get DS a scooter for Christmas, he won't get anything from us really as going to Disney but will wrap up socks/pjs and a few small stocking fillers.

Had a bit of a fright on Saturday, I collapsed on a day out with the DCs. Had a headache all day and turned into a migraine with no real warning and I collapsed. Was a bit dreadful really. Am booked to go to GP though as have had a few odd things lately and still not got the worry over that breast lump out of my system despite it being given the ok.

Tea, hope Noah romps on soon. Must be so hard for them, especially with him being in SCBU for a while.

Also off to check on Dog...

MissJ - I want your day Grin sounds heavenly. Def need to make the most of it before your trip around Oz and DD arrives. Wow that feels odd to know already what you are having.

treedelivery · 13/09/2010 20:02

I didn't see your post Tea. I hope he turns his corner soon, although I guess he is holding his own in terms of breathing and such?

Oh Lenni. Were you one your own wth them? How scary, I hope you are feeling better. Let us know what GP says.

fab Smile

hackneyzoo · 13/09/2010 20:11

Glad Moose's Ds had a good swim, I managed to miss that somehow.

Tree, The red head wallpaper is lovely too..not sure about the price though! I love Quentin Blake illustrations. Can't wait until the DCs start reading Roald Dahl. Am 23 weeks now...so over half way, yay! The bike looks good, might see if any crop up on ebay.

Tea, glad the shoes got there. They are really hard wearing too. (They were originally a sale bargain too!) Glad SIL and B are getting by, it must be very hard living a day at a time, emotionally draining. Soory Noah is still having trouble with his digestion, still thinking of him lots, so hope positive vibes and thoughts are helping.

treedelivery · 13/09/2010 20:13

So hkz, 23 weeks and itchy hands. What about soles of your feet?

hackneyzoo · 13/09/2010 20:18

Lenni, how scary. Hope you're ok. Do you often get migraines? I feel for you, DH gets attacks of cluster headaches and they are totally debilitating and painful. When are you seeing the GP?
I was also thinking of a scooter for DS and DD has one and loves it, but am going to wait until he gets the hang of hers.

Tree, that bike looks scary! I have visions of baby seat being wiped out by some crazy London driver! (I have paranoia about cycling in London with DCs after being knocked off my bike twice by arseholewankers careless London drivers...am trying to get over it as DH has bike with seat on back)

hackneyzoo · 13/09/2010 20:21

Both Tree, but the roof of my mouth is driving me insane. I had this with Jude from about 20weeks also. Am going to mention it to MW (along with heartburn and piles Grin) But don't have an appointment for 3 weeks. Do you think its worth popping to the GP for in the meantime? (Sorry to talk shop)

Lenni, am loving your posts on the labour thread. Have you thought of being a doula?
