Pat, this is Conkers.

Lenni, Thomasland is part of Drayton Manor Park here.

Ahh! I feel a teeny bit better now I've been able to be be useful instead of just a whingey me, me, me. Grin

PatTheHammer · 30/08/2010 20:52

Lenni- I will do asap when I find that sodding camera lead again, I will have a look tonight! I was going to put on FB but N is doing a full frontal so I don't think MissJ would be happy with that!! So I will email you guysGrin

Thomas land is sort of Tamworth way, just off the M42 I think...............now I should know as I drove it last week but in my defence the satnav was ordering me about!

You are right about the lungs being the key in SCBU, with friend's DS they aso had to stabilise his blood sugar as his pancreas had not matured but he has had no difficulty with this or breathing since he left at 3 wks old. He was 39weeks but she had severe pre-eclampsia and other complcations which meant her body had pretty much rejected him from about 32/33 weeks.

PatTheHammer · 30/08/2010 20:55

Cheers moose, that looks cool, probably not that much further than Drayton Manor either, which took about 75mins from my place.

Lenni · 30/08/2010 21:05

Haha, thanks Pat, I love it when you back up my tentative biology knowledge. I really ought to know these things having tuaght it for years but I never really got Biology. Now ask me a Physics question and I'm fine!

I have always bought all my school labels from these guys on ebay. They are cheap, efficient and have a really fast service.

I buy the woven name tags and attach them using taggits which massively cuts down on the labelling time.

I also find it useful to choose a different logo for each child, as I can easily see without really looking whose sweatshirt is whose. It also really helped them when they were first in Nursery, as neither of mine could read at that age. Ds1 has a smiley face, ds2 a smiley star and I have bought some for dd as well (they were doing a deal) with a flower on as well.

teaandcakeplease · 30/08/2010 21:27

Yes it's the breathing he's struggling with.

A lot of my friends on fb are joint friends so I've toned my status update down a little but really I'm thinking

teaandcakeplease · 30/08/2010 21:28
Blush

Joint friends of SIL and brother and me as they live near me and go to the same church etc.

hackneyzoo · 30/08/2010 21:30

Tea, lots of positive vibes being sent your way to your new nephew. We have been visiting friends whose DD was born at 34 weeks....she hasn't had any problems and is now a lovely boistrous three year old. Must be a bit of a shock though, How is your sister in law and brother?

Moose, sorry you are still feeling rotten, I think you should definitely visit the GP if still no AF by the end of the week. Thanks for the dryer tip, you are a star, I have just ordered it and it is being delivered on Friday.

Books, Conkers sounds great, just looked at the website. DS seems to have permanent bruises on his forehead, he's very much a bruiser. DD sounds like a dare devil!

Tree, boo hiss about the roof. Our house is damp and leaky house...I'm just closing my eyes to all the little problems at the moment and hoping they go away. You have inspired me to raise a few funds by de-junking though.

I love the sound of the tree festival Pat, my mum used to take me to Rougham Tree Fair when I was a kid and it was a big old hippy affair, a bit like strawberry fair used to be...I'm a sucker for a bit of craft and nature in a field! Have lost my motivation to do labels now so going to invest in a laundry pen...do you get them from boots or asda? Which aisle? [clueless mother emoticon]

Lenni, we are keeping the sex a surprise... although I saw Ds's sex at the scan so who knows! I have boy feeling though...

Dog...did the swimming get anything going?

Saw the midwife today and heard the heartbeat for the first time. Have decided to go for HB again, and the new policy where I live is that they do all your ante natal visits in your own home. This is brilliant as it means I won't have to miss work and waste hours of my life at our local clinic waiting to be seen. I was nice having the DCs sat around the sofa joining in while we listened to the heartbeat.

Jude had is first haircut today, courtesy of Salon Mummy and it doesn't look too bad, I am glad to see the back of his mullet!

moosemama · 30/08/2010 21:31

Hi Dog, dd has a thing about tummy buttons too. She doesn't beep them, but she does have a habit of pulling up tops to expose them at inopportune moments!

Must be a bitter-sweet pill with dd's talking/singing - I completely understand.

Dd is also a total chatterbox and is always singing something or other. Current Top-of-the-dd-pops is Mary Mary Quite Contrary - although it has to be said, her version is more Wary Wary Kike Onlairy! Grin

PatTheHammer · 30/08/2010 21:41

LOL at Clarks bribery Dog- I managed to fob DD off with a pair that were not Clarks but were really pretty. They were a tenner cheaper but still leather and looked really pretty with a little bow, she like the butterfies on the insole! You will be out and about (with your double-buggy no less!) before you know it!

HKZ- DH got the laundry pen from BHS I think, they also do them in wilkos but I guess sainsbo's would do them too.
So lovely picturing you all listening to baby's heartbeat at home, how wonderful! How did you manage a decent haircut? I'm afraid I butchered Z's a few weeks ago with the clippersBlush

Moose, thanks for the link, we have gone with a buttergly logo for DD (unsuprisingly!) I also have ordered a bag-tag for her book-bag as all 26 bags will look identical!

Books-Maybe we can make our autumn meet-up at conkers???? Are you putting everyone upWink

PatTheHammer · 30/08/2010 21:44

RE: singing....Z's fave at the moment is 'happy birthday' thanks to all the parties we have attended this summer. He sings 'appy burday boo do' does a little dance and then looks expectantly around for a cakeGrin

He also does the actions to 'wind the bobbin up' no matter what song you actually sing???!

moosemama · 30/08/2010 21:44

HKZ they have laundry pens on the counter at Mothercare at the moment and you can also order them with your Tesco shop, if that helps?

You are far more organised than us. I found that dryer on Saturday morning and still haven't managed to order it. Mind you, I have been to two different Ikeas this weekend and that's not to be sneezed at! Grin

moosemama · 30/08/2010 21:51

Dd still doesn't have enough hair to need a haircut. She has a couple of really cute curls developing at the nape of her neck, but still a full-on widow's peak at the front.

Pat, dd loves 'wind the bobbin up' its one of her favourites. Its so cute when they do the actions. Lol at Z doing the same actions for every song. Grin

teaandcakeplease · 30/08/2010 21:52

I butcher Jacob's hair with clippers right now too.

He likes singing "Ee I Ee I Oh" at the moment to Old MacDonald had a Farm song. LOL

hackneyzoo · 30/08/2010 21:57

Two different Ikeas!!???? Moose, that is legendary! Are you nuts?! Wink Will check out Motercare for a pen thing, tanks for the links also Dog!

Pat, J is a fan of the actions to 'Wind te bobbin' and 'Heads soulders' or a strange combination of the two Confused Ave no idea how I did the aircut, it was fluke I reckon. I did have to have a second go at it in the bath..

DD has taken the H key off my keyboard and it's driving me nuts, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't...I have a horrendously long essay due in 5 weeks too...grrrr.

moosemama · 30/08/2010 22:05

Yes, we are nuts. Long boring story, but essentially we needed a piece of furniture for the boys room so that we could shift around the furniture we have and furnish dd's room properly. Checked it was in stock online - yep 10 in stock, so, duly rocked up to Wednesbury Ikea, sauntered around, noted the location in the warehouse - fed the dc's in the cafe - you know the drill. Went to the warehouse - not one in stock. Cue lots of grumping and swearing under breath. Bought dc's ice-creams and paid for the items we had managed to pick up - nothing off our list so not to bad. Then had to go to the horrible, horrible Coventry store (or Prison Ship Ikea as dh calls it) the next day and do it all over again.

In fairness, we were in and out in under half and hour the second time and we placated the dc's with a free ride on the skyline electric rail link between the international station and the airport on the way there.

It was good actually, parked in the 20 mins free parking zone, caught the free skyrail thing to the airport, had a quick wander around and caught it back again and the dc's were over the moon without a single penny being spent - although they have made us promise they can stay longer and have lunch in one of the cafe'/restaurant's next time. Grin

hackneyzoo · 30/08/2010 22:12

Moose that's excellent use of free entertainment Grin You made me chuckle. I am trying to steal myself for a trip to Ikea, I need a curtain rail and a couple of new kingsize fitted sheets, can't find any decent value 100% cotton ones anywhere else...I might bite the bullet tomorrow since its turning into a week for getting things done.. Right off to bed.

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 31/08/2010 09:37

DOG, YANBU. Grrrr. Relations.

Had scan this morning, everything good. They have new scanners at the hospital and the pictures were amazing, so clear. Will try and post one to my MN profile.

TEA, how is your nephew doing today?

teaandcakeplease · 31/08/2010 13:02

He's breathing a lot better today, he's jaundiced and under a light currently, still in the incubator. My brother says he wants to cry all the time in his text to me today Sad
