becaroo I got more tesco vouchers in the post this morning, I'm planning to look for presents with doubling the vouchers too. We usually save them for days out to make them go as far as possible. If the Diggerland vouchers come before Friday we'll be using them on Saturday.

starlight what did your dd sleep in? We can't decide whether to take sleeping bag and mat or travel cot for ds2 when we go camping this weekend.
I don't think you should cook inside a tent except maybe under an open porch.

Can't decide whether to get this scooter or this one for ds2. The 1st is a lot cheaper eso if I double up the vouchers but the 2nd I think is better.

Ah starlight your camping sleeping sounds lovely! We're off 2 weeks today to Spain, yay! Cannot wait! we have a mobile home with air con awaiting so I'm hoping the good weather stays.

ILTMIMI am a bit annoyed now cos I clicked on your link for the birthday pressie and C would love that! She is so into machines and diggers, can't wait to go to digger land when she's older. And we got £35 of vouchers in the post today so could double up. Arrgghhh don't know what to do - no idea what to buy her really. She also loves computers and bikes, so was thinking about a bike or scooter. Would something like the JCB be too huge?

Period arrived today, so no luck SWI but early days and good to find that charting my temps etc is actually working and I fully expected my period due to temp.

C has 2 new habits: opening up my top in public and yelling 'mummy's boobies!'Hmm. OK kiddo, where was the interest 2 years ago eh?!!
Also she loves men and strokes the legs of any passing random male. Cue me saying, no darling we don't touch people!!

On a more serious note, she has started pooing every week to 10 days over the summer. Any advice? I have posted elsewhere but she has lots of water, fruit and veg, she is generally happy herself and has wet nappies and when she does poo, it is generally not hard (just lots of it). She has had a bit of lactulose but anyone else got any advice?

That digger is amazing!

I doubled up my tesco vouchers this morning and got ds the postman pat sds van, and a t-shirt for DH. Also picked up the fireman sam engine that you lot made me reserve yesterday Grin. So that's £5.99 spent, two presents and we can consider ds's birthday to be in the bag, a full 6 weeks early. This is unprecedented in my life!

Got a nail biting wait til tea time to find out when our kitchen is being delivered...

mrsA so :( AF arrived. Have a wonderful holiday and relax!

starlight your camping trip sounds excellent, loving the family nest!

debs many congratulations on your new little girl Smile You take it easy now, you hear? Does she have a name yet?

carrie sorry if I have made you buy things!!! Smile

ds1 caught tobys fingers in the car door earlier today Sad I really shouted at him, poor love Sad I apologised afterwards and he told me he thought I was going to "blow my stack"!! Grin

Tobys fingers fine.

mrsA If C is happy, plenty of wet nappies and not straining or crying when pooing I would say she is fine....the range of "normal" for pooing is varied. Toby goes twice most days but he has gone some days without. Tobys poos get really hard/pellety if he doesnt go regularly though.

marsarch My dd is pooing a lot less at the moment. She has loads of fibre, water and fruit so I'm not sure what is going on. She hasn't been since friday, and is only going 2/3 times a week at most. I might call the GP tomorrow as we don't have anything like lactulose in the house. I do worry if she isn't regular.

Her big brother has to be marched to the toilet and supplied with books to keep him in one place to make sure he does a poo most days. If I leave it up to him he doesn't sit down for long enough.

Debi the micro ones are £10 cheaper on amazon - I'm thinking of gtting one for M as she's so physical - but don't know if she's be too small

carrie ds1 turned 7 in June. He makes me laugh so much. His vocab is so good - its really odd sometimes to hear such things coming from such a little person! Grin

Have got sooo much to so today....going to windsor with my parents on friday til sunday so got to get it all done today.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 17/08/2010 12:56

ninja that link looks a bit more realistic - won't cost a penny with vouchers and I know C would love it. on the other hand, she also loves the wendy house at nursery....oh decisions.

My mum has offered (amazingly as she's normally pretty crap) to either buy C a steiff bear for her birthday (as an investment) or to buy her a computer which is aimed at toddlers and then possibly buy the steiff next year. Any thoughts?

And we have a doctor's appt tomorrow if no poo by then. C now has bags under her eyes and refused tea last night and breakfast today. She is still drinking water and milk and will have a small amount of fruit but it's been 10 days today since she went. Am worried.

MrsA I'd go for the digger rather than the wendy house. If she gets to play with one every day at nursery she might get bored of one at home too. That one on tesco looks good (as does the other one).

Thanks for the scooter advice ninja I am going to get the 'proper' mini micro one as used most of our tesco vouchers this morn to get ds1 a buzz lightyear for Christmas.
If you want to double up vouchers watch out for not getting conned into making too many into 'double up vouchers'. It can only be multiples of £5 (to give £10 of vouchers) and if something costs say £29.99 you can't use £30 of vouchers. Or at least that's what the woman in tesco told me but according to the voucher exchange facebook page there's a lot of rubbish being told by shop staff!

congratulations debs, hope you're managing to get some rest and are enjoying your new baby.

no advice on poo here sorry, we're lucky if ds2 only poos twice a day and they are usually so big and messy that he needs to be in size 5 nappies.

Was this the scooter you saw ninja here?
It's not the same as the other one I'd seen and so now I don't know which is best! The other one looks good as the wheels are angled at the front which will make it more balanced at the front and not so easy to over steer but the one on amazon has adjustable height handle.

Report
DebiTheScot · 17/08/2010 14:37

right decision made. The iscoot one (the one ninja saw on amazon) doesn't get anywhere near as good reviews as the other one so I've decided to just pay £50 for the one I linked to at John Lewis. It seems to sell for about £30 second hand on ebay so should be able to sell it on in 2 years. And I thought that as ds2 will probably never get his own new bike and has mostly hand me down toys and clothes that he can have this.
