We're home! Bare plaster on walls, bare concrete on floor, have to wash plates before and after meals due to amount of dust in the air, but its home sweet home :) We have our lounge back, and its wonderful to sleep in our bed again (although our bedroom has become the dumping ground for All Things. Builders are faffing about doing fascias and door frames etc. Hopefully kitchen and flooring will be done some time next week, I just can't wait! At least the two week wait will pass quickly this month!
hopefully hope the blood pressure is nothing to worry about.
pacita lol at you thinking you sound drunk!

It's lovely to be home isn't it Carrie?

Tantrums aside, isn't the age our lo's at a lovely one? I love spending the days with ds. We can have a chat, we can go out for a walk, we can cuddle up and watch Numberjacks!

I have no idea why Numberjacks is so popular, but he loves it. It's probably overtaken Show Me Show Me in the popularity stakes. When I was singing to him tonight at bedtime I asked him what song he wanted.

'jacks' ie Numberjacks. I have no idea what the words are but I sort of made it up and he was happy with that! However he fell asleep in my arms to Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Oh and come and tell me about your hedgerows Hopefully. We've got some ripe blackberries here but they taste VILE. Are the first ripened berries horrid but then the later ones ok?

We've got loads of hazelnuts on our tree's too

carrie My mum has just had the outside of her house washed down (windows, fascias, gutters, driveway everything) as the extension made it all dusty and splatttery. The builders were great but it does make a horrendous mess.

debs Emotional blackmail won't work on XP. He refused to attend the contact centre (huge black mark against him on paper for that one as they keep records!) and was asked to leave mediation, he really couldn't care less. But at least we are safe and muddling along fairly well - with the exception of today and some major toddler meltdowns and my mum dashing round to save the day!

phew, I think I need a lie down... I have just purchased my first tune from itunes. What a faff to set it all up! Now it's done though I think it might be too easy to go on a spree.

Bookmarking. Back from hol to real life with only 1 adult (plus 1 before & after work) instead of 4 to entertain kids. And 2 stroppy kids coz Granny & Papa have gone home.

debi I feel your pain after the departure of grandparents!
Hows the shopping meglet, are you a rock chick, or is it all about the 80s cheese?
ILTMIMI life with your ds sounds great :)

DS is also so comedy at the moment, comes out with the most gorgeous things. Do you remember me worrying about his lack of interest in jigsaws a while back? Well there's now a 4 piece tractor one he can do all by himself, and he loves doing others with help. I was doing jigsaws with DD and he came up and said "play jigsaw too". Bless! He's so different to DD though, she would try and try every piece and work it out for herself whereas he prefers to be helped and tap it in from 3 yards out!

debi Boo to real life and no grandparents. Did you have a nice holiday though? Smile

carrie I stopped at 12 songs, all gym stuff, some rock and some dance tuuuunes. ipod Shuffle is still in the box though, tomorrow evenings plan is to read the instructions and plug it in and transfer my playlist Confused.

DD made her big brother cry today as she pinched him on the cheek. We had words. I love she is confident but I think my work is going to be cut out with her for a few months as she is very, um.... determined.

Morning!

Am collapsed in front of Cbeebies (for T's benefit, not mine), which is where we seem to spend most mornings at the moment. Am feeling like the worst mother ever, but am too bloody knackered and sicky to do much more! Am clinging onto the fact that after 12 weeks with T I basically went back to pre-pregnancy energy levels, so hopefully this isn't going to last for another 8 months.

Have reassurance scan this morning - only 6.4 weeks, but am hoping that there will be something to see. I don't know if heartbeat gets seen at this stage or not...

Oh good luck Hopefully - all the best for your scan. I'm currently on the 2ww - by sheer luck rather than anything else we managed to time SWI around ovulation according to my charts.

but not holding my breath - rare to get lucky this early.

Carrie hope all is going ok at the house - bet you're glad to be home. Your brown bear tales on fb make me smile.

hopefully how are you......?

Yes meglet we had a great holiday and actually the boys were much cheerier than I thought they would be after the grandparents left.
Had a really good 2 weeks, went to a couple of chateaux, a zoo, 3 cycles, playing on the beach and swimming in the lake and the pool and slobbing at the Gite. The gite had a barn packed full of toys that the boys loved so in the afternoons while ds2 slept, ds1 played with the toys and bugged Granny and we slobbed. I read 2 whole books!

I can recommend a lake beach holiday. The lake about 30 mins from our gite had a lovely beach with a park on it that was deserted all morning and never got really busy. The water was really warm and sectioned off in different depth bits. Having no waves and fresh water really helped both boys get so much more confident in the water and we could let ds1 play in the water while we were on the sand.

DS2 had me stressed for the 1st few days though as he wouldn't drink very much water or juice at all even though it was hot and also decided he didn't like the milk and didn't drink any all holiday. He seems to be able to survive on very little liquid.
He also learned "no like it" and said it in response to every food, book, toy etc given to him even if it was the croissants that he loved!

He is turning into a cheeky monster and inlaws say he's way cheekier and more confident than ds1 was at that age. He is very funny though and is always making us laugh.

Love your dd's comment after her phone call Carrie. DS1 spent 10 minutes on his toy phone to a pre-schl friend a few weeks ago!

Anyone else have a toddler who eats muslins? If he had his own way ds2 would have half a muslin stuffed down his throat all day. He only gets it at bedtime but you wouldnt believe how much he can fit in his mouth, it's like a magician trick when he pulls it out!

Oh and no chance of any potty training here before this thread ends.

Meglet · 11/08/2010 21:36

debi mine don't eat muslins but they have been caught eating the muffin cases. Obviously trying to get every last bit of goodness off them Hmm. DS swallowed one the other day. (Note that is DS who is 3.9, not his baby sister!). I despair.

hopefully Hope it went well today.

ipod update - it's finally charging even as I type. No music has been transferred onto it yet but my playlist is set up on the computer. [thinks walkmans were much less faff, if a bit on the hefty side].

becaroo LOL at your DS1 coming over all 'stage-school'!

Hope it went OK Hopefully

Went to the park and fairground today and I'm amazed at what a daredevil M is. She insisted on going down (by herself) a slide that was about 10m (maybe more) high - and she climbed up it herself (with me a millisecond behind). Then she went on the rollercoaster, I thought I'd manage to scare her a little but no she wanted more! She wanted to go on the walzers but I decided that might be a step too far!

Hi all posting and running:
Going into hospital tomorrow to be induced. Growth scans show baby hasn't grown this month so it is time to come out. Doc did a sweep and decided I am favourable for induction so next time I post baby no 4 should be with us.

Good luck Debs. Another baby on the thread, how exciting Smile

It's disgraceful that you can't access funding for a test for ds Becaroo. I hope you find a way round it and get the tests you need.

lol at Walkman Meglet. My first walkman was just a radio, then it was a bright red plastic cassette player with a stylish strap to hang over your body, then I graduated to a cd player. They seemed the height of sophistication at the time Grin

We've just got back from our Toddler group summer party. DS had a fantastic time. He done LOTS of glueing, lots of running around with the older boys, and lots of stuffing of party food!

sigh.

am now really fed up.

just been to see GP for a repeat prescription and re: the bleeding I am still suffering with. anyway, turns out it wasnt a fibroid that they found last year at all but abnormal womb lining!!! also, the GP I saw today wasnt very pleased that my GP wouldnt do an internal exam til I had stopped bleeding - its been 2 months and I have been bleeding on and off every since. she did some swabs, have had to have some bloods done and got to go back for scan.

how can a GP read results wrong? its either a fibroid or it isnt! she also said that the last bloods i had done were pointless as they didnt tell her anything! she was not happy.

so, instead of starting my huge ironing pile I have had to go to the local hospital for blood tests. Goodness knows when i will get the scan date.

sorry for the moan. am really fed up Sad

anyone heard from hopefully? Am getting concerned......

I pressed post to quickly - Becaroo my Mum had a misdiagnosis last year with fibroids and got her all panicked over nothing. I know I should not knock the NHS as one of their loyal employees, but shrugging as though she should be grateful they they got it wrong initially is just not helpful :(

becaroo Sad. How did it go with the blood tests? Did they give you an idea how long the scan will be?
