Aw NC I feel your pain, so sorry you're not pg yet TTC is absolutely draining and rubbish isn't it? You know we're here if you want to have a rant or talk about the weather or whatever ok?

In other non-ttc news, there's a problem with our new kitchen. Somewhere between the builder and the kitchen shop, no one had factored in the two week summer shut down at the factory. We're supposed to be moving home on Saturday to a finished kitchen, doh! So they're going to fit us a temporary kitchen but with all our appliances, and by way of compensation they'll lay all our flooring for free. We're hoping to negotiate a discount on the flooring from the kitchen shop. Going round there today with a list of things that Must Be Done before we move home. DH is so much better at negotiating than me, he gets exactly the right balance between not being a doormat, and not being a totally arsey stroppy customer (I can pull of the latter very well!). Firm but gracious would be a good description. I found him on MN last night....researching flooring!!

How are things with your aunt and great uncle Bec? It sounds like they've been through a lot.

I can understand how you feel NC, please come back when you feel you can. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Hope the kitchen situation sorts itself out soon carrie, all builds have a hiccup and this is yours. It will all be fine.

I bought a lovely summer dress in the Monsoon sale today. Ever since my debit card was swiped the rain has been falling

Becaroo She has 8 teeth on the bottom and 6 on the top so loads left to get. I have never noticed it before so hoping it was a one-off due to not being able to sleep.
Can't wait to see Toy Story 3, Robyn loves watching the 2nd one so we might take them all one day.

carrie bugger about the kitchen, some people just can't co-ordinate. When we moved into our first house they took down the security shutters without checking if we actually had afront and back door. Luckily the carpenter was on his rounds are popped into make sure he had a door that would fit, he didn't so they had to put the shutters on and wait a week.

ILTMIMI My aunt is doing well and should be home in 2 days. My Uncle as a blood clot but is doing ok. Been a worrying few days!

debs I never equated Tobys tooth grinding with teething til he had got them all and it stopped! He did it alot though. If its a one off for Robyn it could be due to anything.

I think T has pretty much all his teeth, although there may be a molar or two missing. We had about 2 months of misery around the 15 month mark when almost all of them arrived.

NC sorry you're feeling crappo about TTC. Hope you're able to keep posting occasionally and that luck turns your way soon.

I am in the horrible limbo where I have almost no symptoms and am thinking it's all going to go wrong at any moment. Am going to beg doc's for early scan next week on the basis of my continued mental health . Don't feel at all like we might have another DC this time next year.

Wedding planning going pretty well, although band hire is turning into a nightmare - all the decent ones are around £1,800, which is waaaaaay more than we can afford. contemplating PA hire and a decent iPod playlist. Spoke to caterer yesterday, who was v nice and v posh, booked local butcher for hog roast and must do some more on my dress before I get enormous. Am amazingly proud of myself for reaching almost 6 weeks without putting on a pound - am desperately trying to eat healthily without gaining too much, as wedding is 16 weeks after due date (assuming PG goes OK).

Carrie how pants for you, but it sounds like you're keeping positive about it. At least they're putting in a temp kitchen!

ILTMIMI I was thinking about treating myself to some Havianas flip flops but am having second thoughts now I think it will rain all month. On the plus side my grass will grow again, it's a right state in my garden.

DD doesn't hide to poo. Instead she leans up against something and slightly leans forward to do one.

wow you've all been busy.

London was great but poor DD1 is knackered as my Aunt and Uncle do everything late and she's not been to bed before midnight . We did do a night London Eye trip which was fun though. Also went to British Museum, Natural History and Science Museums, some parks and saw some cousins. Not bad for 3 days!!

M was asleep when I got back so it'll be good to see her in the morning (and to see if she still wants a feed - I don't feel like there's anything in there but we'll see)

ninja I bet it was bliss not having to battle with a pushchair around London. Sounds like a lovely break.

I think I'm hitting a tricky stage with 3.9yo DS now. Yesterday he said to me "My daddy doesn't love me" . I nearly dropped what I was doing in shock. So we've had a talk about how his Daddy does love him () but sometimes grown ups get very grumpy and don't calm down and it's not nice to be near them when they are grumpy . Heaven knows if it's helped but DS seemed ok with it. It's birthday and Xmas season coming up so I'm getting nervous waiting to see if it kicks XP off again.

carrie LOL at your DH on MN researching flooring.

Poor ds Meglet. Has xp had any contact recently? It must be so confusing for your ds, and really hard for you to deal with.

It's quite chilly here today. I've got jeans and a jumper on. It's AUGUST fgs Hmm

ILTMIMI Hope you are much better by the end of the day, pesky stomach bugs.

XP hasn't seen the children in over a year. In many ways its a relief as we don't have to worry about his anger. However I am always worrying about the affect it will have on the kids. They latch onto every other dad / man we meet Confused. Great at the moment as we only know sensible people and all my friends dads are wonderful with my two, but it might go wrong with bad influences from older teenage boys / boyfriends.

I still haven't tidied the kitchen. I'm not allowed to go to the gym until it's done and I'm allowing myself to go to the Apple shop to check out the ipod Shuffles while I'm in town as I think I need one for the gym.

meglet I wasn't on here yesterday due to spending the day dropping my children on their heads Confused
Please don't call SS! Grin

DS was in the buggy and stood up while I was pushing it along, I lunged to catch him and grabbed his t-shirt but his head still hit the concrete. He's got a large but very shallow graze, I dread to think how bad it would have been if he'd fallen with his full weight behind him and I hadn't caught his top. Clearly he can't be trusted without the straps being done up.

The in the afternoon we were at the park, DD was very overtired and kept falling off her bike in drama-queen fashion and cycling into fences. Then she and a friend went in one of those big wok-style swings. It's one that goes round in circles as well as backwards and forwards, and somehow she just got catapulted out and landed on her head. A helpful bystander in the form of an 8yo boy said "she landed on her head and broke her neck!" with awe and glee in his voice. Thankfully she was still wearing her bike helmet and has no signs of concussion!

Not sure I can be trusted with the two children I've got Blush never mind the third I really want!

Sadly the temporary kitchen hadn't been fitted by the end of yesterday so the big cleaning party was cancelled, but a coupld of friends came and dusted and vacuumed the kids rooms. One lovely friend demonstrated her love by cleaning our only toilet...the one the builders have been using for 3 months!

I'm beyond excited about moving back home tomorrow. Its genuinely been fine for the last 6 weeks, but I hadn't realised how much I'm looking forward to being back until we were told that we might not be able to. Going round at 4 this afternoon to check there really is a sink and plumbing for the washing machine...!

Hi guys just checking it. Talking of dropping children on there heads.
A few weeks ago I was in a mad dash to get back to car for car parking ticket. For quickness (laziness) ds5 sat in buggy and had ds2 on his lap. I was pushing fast and we were going at an impressive rate. We just were just passing a lot of people when I tripped the buggy up a curb. Both dc fell on there heads and an ambulance crew that was passing came running. Both dc were hysterical but unhurt Blush NEVER AGAIN. Enjoy piecing your house back together carrie thats always my fav bit.
A night out will the girls with new glad rags tonight xxxx

What happened to summer? My sister is going camping tomorrow for the first time. i reckon she'll be home by 10pm Grin. It's blardy freezing!

Carrie I hope you have a kitchen to go home to!

Not a lot of news here. T has started trying to jump (hilariously and unsuccessfully), kisses everything goodbye (including my tailor's dummy Hmm Grin) and announces his poos loudly and proudly. Usual almost-2-year-old stuff I guess.

Falling on heads - T managed to fall flat on his nose this afternoon and split his lip. The wound went well with the scraped head from running into the table this morning and the egg shaped forehead lump from running headlong into a little friend at tiny tots thing at lunch time. Ho hum.

Have constantly got the feeling that I've stood up too quickly. Had pretty low blood pressure while PG with T, wonder if it's the same thing, excacerbated by rushing around after T? Might see doc about it next week if it continues.

hopefully my heating is on Blush. And we had the lights on at 6pm as I could hardly see across the room.

I treated myself to an ipod shuffle in town today. You would think I would be excitedly illegally sharing music files with my sister, ahem, downloading music, but no, I'm on MN as usual. I'd better get a move on as I can't do it when the kids are awake.

DD was very sweet today. When we left nursery one of the staff said "Bye gorgeous!" and DD said it back to her Smile. She's still not too chatty but she does talk in a cute voice and is always asking "Why?".

ninja · 06/08/2010 22:23

enjoy the shuffle Meglet - DH had his ipod on shuffle once, then realised it had a load of nursery rhymes and kids stories on it Grin

MrsA that fear of the hoover must be catching - M used to LOVE the hoover, she'd try and help and then sit on it to be pulled around but today she SCREAMED whenever I turned it on (an excuse to never hoover again Hmm?)

Carrie - I hope that you're back in soon, it must be really frustrating.

Sorry to hear about all the sore heads - I sometimes wonder what people will think with all the bruises my two have!

hopefully I also feel very dizzy a lot of the time. Apparently it goes with the preganancy!

Meglet, so sad abut your DS thinking about his dad, and how difficult for you to have to explain. If ony he could just reaslise what a treasure those two children are

Carrie there is light at the end of the tunnel, and a fully fitted kitchen too!

Talking about light at the end of the panel, it looks like I'll be moving soon. After agonisingly stressful 3 months, it looks like we're almost ready to exchange!

Meglet so Angry at the way your xp has behaved and is upsetting his kids. He sounds like a twat anyway but would some emotional blackmail make him see some sense?

Robyn is very good at falling dramatically and then crying hysterically, she hasn't hurt herself badly yet but if she is like DD1 there is definitely time for that.

Really pissed offf with the weather, when we get up it looks lovely then a few hours later it is like winter. Would really like a bit of sunshine so I can get all my nappies and baby clothes out on the line.
