Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

for the first time in a long time ds is actualy sleeping quite well only one wake up call in the night and going till 7 or 8 am !!
eating still crap had a cold and developed some nasting skin thing - realted to the cold says gp - looks nasty but is ' nothing '

tracyk · 02/12/2005 09:21

No nap yesterday and a vest under babygro at night. slept to his normal 6.30am. Lets see what happens today.

dot1 · 02/12/2005 10:06

Had the fright of my life this morning - ds2 fell down stairs - right from top to bottom - and we've got very long, steep stairs..! I'm still shaking, but he was fine within a minute or so - back to chatting away! Daren't tell my Mum - she already thinks it's tantamount to child cruelty not having stair gates up... Ds2 learnt to go up and down stairs so quickly and easily we never put any up. Silly thing is he wasn't attempting to go downstairs but had sat at the top and was reaching for a toy..!

Anyway, needed to off load as it's all I'm thinking about - all the 'what ifs'...

AwayInAMunker · 02/12/2005 10:29

Dot, how shocking! Glad he's OK - and stop the what ifs - he's fine. (VERY easy for me to say that - am crap at stopping them myself though!)

DS naming everything and wants to know what everything is and what colour they are these days - very funny. He's an eccentric little chap, but totally adorable

His "thing" atm is saying "Ohhh! Ooh!" when he sees things he's interested in - it's proper delight and SO funny to hear!

He's still a total Fifi addict - adores her. And Noddy isn't Noddy - he's called "Parp-parp", apparently

DB is still breech, and I have my growth scan on Tuesday, which I'm looking forward to. Am 34 weeks tomorrow - hardly seems possible!

tracyk · 02/12/2005 10:50

Oh no Dot1 - I read somewhere that 45,000 under 4's fall down the stairs a year. I'm sure my ds will do it one day too. He can go up and down stairs no probs - but soemtimes he changes his mind at the top and tries to turn round - and I think that's when he'll topple!
At least he's ok.

fennel · 02/12/2005 13:29

Hunker, is a growth scan routine in your area? how is the diabetes now?

Dneice has fallen downstairs at least 4 times, she's just 3. she did it a couple of weeks ago (slippery wooden stairs). I think her parents think she'll eventually learn not to.

Mrs D, dd3 gets upset if it's totally dark. she likes a light on now.

AwayInAMunker · 02/12/2005 23:01

No, not routine - it's because of the GD. Not sure how well I'm controlling my sugars, really - one day seems fine, then another I can eat identically and they're all over the place.

Chuffingoodtime · 03/12/2005 01:40

Thanks for the support on the help fennel I'm hoping that it is all positive being with inlaws not that there is anything we can do now.
Terribly scary dot about the stairs, in laws have a stairgate up even though dd can climb really well and it was me who slipped down the stairs last week. Glad he is OK though.
HM good luck with the scan hope it is all good and the growth is under control.
dd still enjoying her daytime naps and all sleep normal, will see what happens when she eventually moves into her own bed in a couple of months.

dot1 · 04/12/2005 08:20

Yes - ds is clearly taking after me in being clumsy - I've fallen downstairs twice in the past 18 months..!

Ds continues to freak us out with his talking - he was looking through a train book yesterday and said "where's the Mallard gone?" (Mallard = a type of train, in case any of you haven't got train-obsessed children!). Dp and I were gobsmacked!

But I reckon all his brain cells are being used up on talking and not many going to the balance bit of his brain!!

dot1 · 04/12/2005 08:52

I mean - how many April babies STILL don't understand about edges of beds, settees etc??! Ds2 seems to have no idea still about sitting right at the edge of our bed - with his back facing the edge - it's terrifying!! I'm sure at the same age we could sit ds1 pretty much anywhere and he'd have the balance to stay there!

tracyk · 04/12/2005 13:49

my ds must be using his balance bit of his brain and not so much talking. He is v. good at balance. Can walk the length of dh legs like a tightrope when he has themy outstretched on the footstool. Wish I was as nimble.
Xmas tree is up and ds likes to say pretty and point to it - hasn't tried to pull it down (yet)

dot1 · 04/12/2005 22:53

Ha, Ha - we went round to Fennel's today and ds2 mostly said nothing at all - how come our little darlings never do what you know they can do the minute they see someone else?!

Fab do at Fennel's though - lots of cake and gorgeous children all running around having a lovely time!

Chuffingoodtime · 06/12/2005 08:19

dd never does the things she does at home around others well it takes a while.
She has decided she likes being a girl and when we went to get dressed today she said skirt. Yesterday she didn't like the t-shirt I put on with her skirt and promptly took about taking it off to pull her skirt up over her nipples like a boob tube. It really did look gorgeous a little pink gypsy skirt pulled up with little lavender fuzzibunz poking out the bottom.

dot1 · 06/12/2005 10:56

Awww - bless! ds doesn't mind what he wears as long as there's a picture on the top - but so far he isn't as fussy as ds1, who by now was having hissy fits about what we dressed him in!!

fennel · 06/12/2005 10:58

Chuffed you will have to start a thread "is it ok for my 1 year old to wear a boob tube"?

it's true, dot1's wonderchild ds2 barely uttered a sound at our house .

the hordes of rampaging girls in tiger and fairy costume have that effect on visitors sometimes.

dolbear · 07/12/2005 22:57

hello ! sorry have not bin around 4 a while beena bit manic in my family crazy world this week
dot1 eek !! ds banged his head ju,mping on bed 2-day !! we 'turned' his cot and he is now sleeping through - or he was until latest nast buggy got him - complete with scarey - looking rash / skin condition - which is ' normal ' for toddlers with a cold mmmmm
have been frantically trying to fing a donkey outfit for nativelty type thing at nursary found one on e-bay cheap - are you not making one? they cry er NO

MrsDoesChristmas · 09/12/2005 12:30

Hi Ladies, Guess who it is?

Dotthehalls · 09/12/2005 14:26

Thought I'd get Christmassy aswell!

ohFennelyeHerbful · 09/12/2005 20:03

i am christmassy as well

dolbear, i have managed not to make nativity costumes. one of dd's teachers made her one, the other dd was being Mary and her Joseph brought one in his parents had made for her. am feeling a bit over-lazy that everyone else has clothed my offspring in biblical tabards etc.

my BIL is off out with Dot's mum tonight! turns out they have worked together for years. bizarre....

Dotthehalls · 09/12/2005 23:18

Oh god I forgot it was their Christmas do, Fennel! It truly is a small and scary world out there..!!

dollsandbears · 10/12/2005 14:18

hi thanks god for ebay got a donkey for a £5-er ha ha ! cunning! if it was an angel or wise man I would have a stab , but a donkey ??
my son has turned into the devil child this last week with v nasty cold - thing no sleep and major grumps - typical man he gets a cold and mopes round the house wailing to anyone who will listen !

Chuffingoodtime · 11/12/2005 00:41

well done on the ebay thing dolbear. I'm a bit like that myself when I'm not feeling well though, not a very good sick person so I dont think it is limited to males unfortunately.

LucyJones · 12/12/2005 20:54

hi everyone. I'm feeling very pleased because we at least have a word from ds that we can actually distinguish (he's been saying hiya and dada for months now and everyone and anything!!). He is saying... waiting for....
hello
It is so exciting and he is so pleased with himself. Still no walking on his own... just walking in between us both!!

HunkerXmasAndAMunkerNewYear · 12/12/2005 21:13

Briliant, LJ! There'll be no stopping him now Language acquisition's my very favourite thing atm - SO funny and unexpected the words that are their favourites! DS's are "button" and "whoops" I think!

LucyJones · 12/12/2005 21:14

aw bless How's the bump doing? Me and dh are on 2nd month of ttc - finding it so stressful. Hate it!!
