dolbear is that a hernia op?

dot1 bad news about the chickenpox, when are you due to go away. the good thing about chickenpox so young is they usually get it really mildly. mine had it last year and they were only ill for about a day really.

teeth - v. v. tedious. dd3 has about 16 now so hopefully that's it for quite a while.

naming colours? enjoying mozart? who are these child progidies? dd3 is more interested in putting shoes on and off and similar trivial pursuits.

dot1 · 07/10/2005 22:16

Mandrake - I love your name!!! Ds2's brightened up considerably, so maybe it's not chicken pox after all - time will tell..!

lunavix · 07/10/2005 22:42

naming colours???? mozart????

ds loves tweenies (still argh) and he also likes kaiser chiefs atm! He's just learnt 'no' and 'yeah' although he doesn't really know which means what!

We just came back from butlins and he loved it, up till midnight at the tots disco most nights! Lots of play areas, although his table manners went downhill for some reason! He also loved plugging 2ps into the 2p machines although he had no idea what he was doing!!!!

TracyK · 08/10/2005 09:11

ds was off colour yesterda and I thought it was going to be chicken pox after you mentioning it. he was, as the scottish say, 'hingy'. But today - back to normal - so maybe just winter blues!
ds says no to everything its just the emphasis to determine whether he means no or yes. NO means no while a little quiet no means yes.
silly boy!

Chuffed · 09/10/2005 08:32

Just had a quick whizz through. Hope all the little ones are ok?
In Bratislava now, in less than a week we'll be on our way down the coast Croatia, Albania etc. Can't believe we have less than a month to go.
All well, I'm due 16 Jan but as it WILL (I might have to fight a little I'm sure) be a C-sec again it will probably be a bit earlier than that.
Bub very very active as is dd, doesn't stop for a second. Very proud of her she loves 'ice-cream' and when one day I had a fruit salad and dh had ice-cream she took my spoon offered over the ice-cream. Loves colours, smelling flowers and anything with a good beat music wise. It is really funny seeing how much the kids all have little things in common.
Well better sign off. - Take care!

dolbear · 09/10/2005 11:22

the op is cos he has not dropped ! bless his dad had the same no one seems to know if it is hereditory we have no , but no yes IYSWIM - we got shoes - juices and crash which all sounds v much the same so is v hard 2 no if he is thirsty or wants 2 go out !!have no idea how many teeth ds has , but he has 2 gaps left @ the bottom to fill - mmmm look forward 2 that then !

MrsDoolittle · 11/10/2005 10:34

I am most impressed by these 'able' little ones.
Dd has only really just become proficient at walking. She doesn't say any words but babbles away incessantly. Very clingy lately, needs lots of hugs but that coincides with a cold mking her a little miserable. She loves palying with switches, opening drawers, opening creams and jars, infact anything she can get hold of.

I feel like I really have lost touch with everyone lately, I've been so busy trying to catch up. Beginning to feel quite 'pregnant' these days.
Who's this Mandrake??

LucyJones · 11/10/2005 10:35

Don't worry MrsD - still no walking here and no words, just lots of babbling and pointing at everything and saying icomrehensible things!!

MrsDoolittle · 11/10/2005 10:42

I'm not worried Lucy. Dd is just taking her time, just her parents!!

MrsDoolittle · 11/10/2005 10:42

Just like her parents - I meant.

LucyJones · 11/10/2005 10:43

same here

MrsDoolittle · 11/10/2005 10:49

She is so cute though, I love her more everyday.

MrsDoolittle · 11/10/2005 10:55

I bought her \link{http://www.storesonline.com/site/547047/page/616700} these wellies at the weekend.
Dh was horrified!!

MrsDoolittle · 11/10/2005 10:56

oops! these wellies

TracyK · 11/10/2005 11:46

gosh I hope she gets good wear out of them! I bought ds 2 pairs from Matalan - a 6 and a 7. They were only £3 and selling fast. Tho its 23 degrees here today!!

mandrake · 11/10/2005 11:59

mrs d - mandrake is an Evil Herb with reputed supernatural powers.

we have been waiting on your other thread to hear what sort of tent you bought?

naturally, we get most of our wellies from car boot sales 50p a pair. but we do have several pairs of flowerly DM boots.

MrsDoolittle · 11/10/2005 12:24

Ah Mandrake! It all makes sense now!!

Anyway, Tracy and Mandrake your points imitate those of dh, I'm afraid. Okay, I admit it, I'm a sucker!!

Haven't bought the tent yet, although I think we are going for a Vango Colorado DLX600 Although I have seen it some where for £180. I think we stalled it because we are moving and we don't know where to store it. Dh is still undecided too. But this, I think, is the one.

mandrake · 11/10/2005 21:02

well perhaps we will have to have a camping meet up next year? that could be fun.

dot1 how is the suspected chickenpox? when are you going away? does Dp need any support? i might be around if she does.

this is a bit unmaternal of me but i think i love dd3 a bit less as she learns to tantrum. meanwhile i love the others more as they become more reasonable and post-toddler. am clearly a fickle bad mother.

yorkiegirl = you've been quiet. (ps have you given up on mumsnetmamas for good?).

did your dd1 go into a big bed early too? how do you keep them in there so young? isn't she up and down all night? am sure dd3 would be.

LucyJones · 11/10/2005 21:07

wow, very grown up!! Did she start to leap out of her cot?! Love those wellies Mrs D, so cute

Hi all! Mandrake - no, no sign of spots so far, so I'm sloping off to Leeds tomorrow morning and should be back by Thursday tea! Dp's got vague plans for tomorrow morning - hauling the kids to Stockport library, but if you're free give her a bell as the afternoon's looking full of vast empty space..!!

I know this isn't strictly about our gorgeous April babies, but today we are celebrating ds1 being out of nappies - AT LAST!!!!! It's been a huge struggle with him refusing to poo in the toilet, and waiting until he had his night time nappy on. But as he was then dry all night I just got fed up a couple of days ago and insisted he wore pants at night - knowing he'd never poo in his pants - he's way too sensitive! So, today was the day he finally had to use the loo and all went really well! By 7pm we were in ToysRus buying him a promised Buzz Lightyear!

So - just ds2 to train now - let's hope it doesn't take quite as long...

TracyK · 12/10/2005 09:14

Well done Dot - at least you'll have had all that experience to call on when toilet training ds2!
Wow YG - big girls bed - am putting off ds moving for as long as poss. He just loves his little cot and goes to sleep/nap like a dream - I dread it all going t*ts up!

MrsDoolittle · 12/10/2005 11:01

I've been wondering about the bed thing.
Atleast we are not under pressure because I have a crib for number 2. I have two single wooden slat beds, we used them for guests. I keep wondering should I put dd in one of those or are there smaller beds? It seems quite a leap to go out of her little cot into one of those.
