Ouch loulou. I hope you're on the mend and feeling better soon. That must be very difficult not to be able to lift Joe.

I can barely lift Q as it is now... and I have no excuse Grin he is a chunk.

LOL at me being in the recipes section.

Coconutfeet · 28/09/2010 20:30

Glad the op went well Loulou - I hope you're recovery is swift from now on. Presumably they've been able to untwist the ovary?

I'm going to give it a try Star!

StarExpat · 28/09/2010 22:16

I go for anything easy to cook. She did say to saute the onions first. But I think onions are the work of the devil. So, I sauteed the courgettes a bit before chucking it all in.

StarExpat · 29/09/2010 12:50

I want to use my puy lentils tonight for something new. Any ideas?

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/09/2010 13:19

I've made some nigella sage and onion puy lentil thing before, but no good if you don't like onion.

Sorry not on much. D refusing to stay in bed so not napping and always seem to be rushing about or too tired in evenings.

Q had a nightmare night last night. screaming for hours and hours. From 10pm-2am, then ate and drank a lot of milk, then screamed some more when I tried to lay him down even with me and he finally dropped off at 4.30am. Had to get up at 6am. Not nice. I wonder if he has another ear infection. Teeth are definitely "hurt"ing him (he points and tells me this).

Sticking his finger in his ear a lot last night, too. Screaming screaming SO LOUD last night for hours. No matter how I tried to lay down with him. He was ok/better standing up/walking/cuddled up to me while I sat up. ugh. Dr surgery closes at noon today, too.

Coconutfeet · 29/09/2010 19:33

Poor Q, and poor your, Star. We you able to get to the doc?

I make a puy lentil salad which is lovely. Boil the lentils until tender. While they're boiling, make a dressing from soy sauce, dijon mustard, olive oil and a splash of balsamic vinegar, garlic if you fancy it. Make sure you make plenty. Drain the lentils and mix them with the dressing while they're still warm. Then add any chopped veg of your choice, red peppers, cucumber, steamed green beans, roasted squash etc and lots of chopped flat leaf parsley. Yum. I have it all the time.

StarExpat · 29/09/2010 20:19

Thanks cf will try that. No dr. Will see how tonight goes.
ronshar how are you?

pepperrabbit · 29/09/2010 22:23

hope tonight goes ok star and Q settles.

StarExpat · 30/09/2010 08:17

Better, but he's still quite miserable. red hot cheeks. Lots of sudden out of the blue screaming in pain, asking for a hug, then throwing himself back (as if he can't get to me... it's strange!) then he clutches the back of his jaw bone on either side with his hands and says "HURT!" Shoving his whole hand in his mouth lately, too (he never sucks on fingers or anything). Is this all normal or could there be something wrong with the way they are coming in? Or maybe it's affecting his ears, too because they are so close? He wouldn't let me drop the olive oil in his ear to de-wax it this morning. It obviously hurt but not sure if it's just pressure from the molars iyswim.

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/09/2010 09:42

It's normal for teething pain to hurt ears as well, yes.

Am taking ds1 to gp this morning to ask for referral to allergist. Remember his reaction to seafood when he was 8 or 9 months old? I need to sort out exactly what he has problems with before I can send him to nursery.

StarExpat · 30/09/2010 10:31

Is he going to nursery soon, csws?

How is J doing now? Is P enjoying school?

Was thinking of sending him for maybe one whole and one half day after Christmas if they have a space at dd's old one.
GP is going to do a RAST test, so he has appt to have blood taken next Thurs. Apparently it might be difficult to do in the surgery, so if they can't manage then he'll have to go to hospital for it. J having his imms straight after, so I might have 2 miserable boys on my hands that day!

J is great thanks star. Getting much more settled now. Had a good night the night before last, and thought that last night was shaping up to be the best yet, but he spoiled it by being awake from 5am-7am!

P still liking school very much, and doing fairly well with her school dinners, which was my only real concern. Now if I could just manage to get her there on time each day...

Generally 2 poos a day here myjob.

50ftQueenie · 30/09/2010 14:09

M has two poos a day. First thing in the morning and then mid-afternoon or mid afternoon and then early evening, depends on how much she's eaten (and when she's eaten it) the previous day. She has started hiding to do a poo but still won't fess up to having done one or to needing one. She pooed on DS's floor the other day after the bath. Hmm Lucky DS!

Star - What CSWS said. Tooth pain and throat pain often defers to the ears so it will be teething that's hurting his ears. Poor Q.

CSWS - Good luck with D's appointment. Do they rub various fish on him to see which makes him swell up? Wink

Ronshar and CF - I had already planned to do some helping out days at the school. I have spoken to DS's teacher about it all.

Loulou - So glad the op went well. Smile You have my sympathies, I had to pick M up out of the bath on my first day out of hospital as she fell under the water and nobody else noticed. Hmm At least she was only 9 months at the time.

M keeps talking about her birthday and singing Happy Birthday to herself. She keeps telling me she wants a chocolate birthday cake please mummy. And some toast..... Or clothes. I'm not sure which. Confused

OP posts:
StarExpat · 30/09/2010 18:04

Q isn't very clever, then. We keep talking about his birthday and cake...etc and he just smiles and nods and says "I want cake!" or "choco!" or "sweeties!" but does not get it. No clue - maybe we'll read more about bdays/watch a children's show with a birthday.... He does love sing and dance to the Cbeebies birthday song!

Can't wait to give him the garage! Birthday is on Saturday! Mine sun - our washer broke so new one coming sometime sun... Fun bday :)

50ftQueenie · 30/09/2010 18:42

Not at all Star! M is a BIG show off and wants any excuse to be centre of attention. She also has an older brother who had a big party and who goes on and on to her about her birthday. Wink I think that's the only reason she has a clue.

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 30/09/2010 20:17

You there 50ft - want to ask you about that charity auction before it finishes?

StarExpat · 30/09/2010 20:22

Well, we tried explaining it to Q and read a book about someone who had a birthday party (the monster one :) ) and asked if he wanted cake. He nodded and said "choco!" Then I asked him several times what he wanted to do for his special day... anything he wants and he said very emphatically "(little girl's name - mindee of cm who he sees for half days Mon-Wed)" I kept rephrasing the question and he had the same answer. Maybe he has a teeny tiny clue since I just shoved the concept down his throat Grin

50ftQueenie · 30/09/2010 20:23

I am here CSWS!

OP posts:
50ftQueenie · 30/09/2010 20:27

Star - Chocolate cake and playing with boys would be M's idea of a perfect day! Grin

OP posts:
StarExpat · 30/09/2010 21:31

I feel badly that we won't be able to get her here. Hopefully we can find something else to make him happy.

Coconutfeet · 30/09/2010 21:42

GRRRRRRRR! Star - You were so right when you said I should have done my online shop with Waitrose. My Asda delivery should have been here between 6 and 8. They finally turned up just before 9, no phone call to say they were running late. And when it finally did arrive there were loads of inadequate substitutions and no cling film. WTF? Surely they can't have run out of cling film so completely that they couldn't give me another brand. I wouldn't mind but I thought I'd been super-organised as I'd ordered the food for S's birthday tea tomorrow. So I've still got to go shopping in the morning.

Sorry - just needed to get that off my chest.

Hope you're all OK!
