Good article on GB last day in todays Guardian. (I didn't pay for it- was my parents subscription!)NC seems to have wanted GB to hang on before resigning so he could get more out of the Tories

ilovemydogandMrBrown · 13/05/2010 14:46

it was right out of The Art of War. Hope NC got what he wanted.

onebatmother · 13/05/2010 15:01

Have we all seen the Lovely Lucy Mangan today?

ZephirineDrouhin · 13/05/2010 15:04

Yes it's marvellous. Thought I might post it on the Anxious Tories thread for jollies.

BecauseImWorthIt · 13/05/2010 15:33

I'm wondering if it's time to retreat back to the Wankers' threads?

This has just been posted on Sophable's thread:

"... it is certainly true that the Lefties thread has become less accepting of anyone offering a different viewpoint that the grieving labour supporters the last few days."

I wasn't aware of this, but haven't been around much for the last couple of days, so have skim-read most of this thread.

ZephirineDrouhin · 13/05/2010 15:43

Oh yes please BIWI I do think it's time. I wanted to post a parenting question to you all the other day and almost did it on this thread thinking it was the closest thing we had to it.

Is there one going already or do we need a new one?

Well, no need to stop the lefties thread, and you can join the wonkers as well! No qualifications required, other than a desire to chat about anything and everything.

I just feel a bit upset and cross about being accused of something I am not, IYSWIM, so I'm probably leaving the lefties' thread for the time being.

(Please post on the wonkers thread as well as I don't want to be a Billy No-mates!)

CatIsSleepy · 13/05/2010 16:07

ah justa you are kind- I may drop in and say hello some time

[Waves white flag and removes foot from mouth]

Sorry if I upset anyone , really not intended I have absolutely loved these threads but have felt like it doesn't quite fit me so well the last few days. I don't think I said you were intolerant, just felt that the prevailing viewpoint has moved from anti-Tory to anti-Tory and LibDem (although I can see why)

'A consensus has been created that the deficit must must MUST be cut, as if to oppose cuts in welfare and public spending is as futile as trying to stop the laws of physics. So we'll now have a period of new modern politics, in which a Prime Minister from Eton and a Chancellor from St Paul's in coalition with a chap from Westminster Public School force the bulk of the population to pay for a mess they didn't create, rather than upset the richest one per cent who've enjoyed an unprecedented rise in their wealth. '

fantastic, prolesworth
