Sounds a bit more like Cable gets to do the fun bit of doling out some pain to the banks, OBM.

thetoriesaretoast · 12/05/2010 13:46

Claig, if you meant me, I'm for roasting the Tories not toasting them.

ilovemydogandMrBrown · 12/05/2010 13:46

ninja I sent Stephen Williams a question before the election, you know, when they are trying to impress, and waited 18 days for a response. Actually it wasn't a response. It was from one of his assistants asking for my address . Then got arsey reply when I pointed out that it was shockingly slow, good thing I wasn't in a foreign country in jail.... Then got more arsey reply saying that they get lots of correspondence.

onebatmother · 12/05/2010 13:51

Really? I thought that would be within pastyboy's job descr.

Ninjacat · 12/05/2010 13:52

Ilove the name change

Shan't hold my breath for a reply then? I'm hoping the tag line "congratulations" might get it read quicker.

CatIsSleepy · 12/05/2010 13:55

cable is the one ray of sunshine in an otherwise depressing picture really

theresa may, pah

liked policy's comment about Dep PMs not having much function other than punching people

Alastair Campbell said Clegg made a bad mistake not getting Treasury, FCO or Home Office for himself along with Deputy PM. He does seem to have gone for a title rather than a job (though punching people might be fun - could always get Adam Boulton in to help out).

jenny60 · 12/05/2010 14:08

Hi again: how do you all eat/sleep/work? You are impressive.

Can I just ask: when the election drama is over, is there a general place for lefties on mn? I would like to join you more often, especially when the next election rolls around.

Lenin, have I missed it or is there no mention of repealing the European Bill of Rights in that document?

Penthesileia · 12/05/2010 14:16

Marking place. Too depressed to contribute meaningfully at this point.

I do still think that it was better that Labour not do a deal with the Lib Dems.

But in the end, I discovered I wasn't ready for Labour to go...

policywonk · 12/05/2010 14:17

Good scoop for LibCon Len.

IMO, if that is the document, there's a lot of good stuff in there. Realise this is not the majority opinion though...

Is it a grown up press conference where people actually ask questions? There has been an incredible lack of opportunity to ask questions. OK, GB's resignation, nor DC's arrival at Downing Street wasn't the appropriate time, but still....

I thought last night about this deputy PM role, after AC said NC had bungled it

Maybe NC planning to bump DC off?

policywonk · 12/05/2010 14:23

Gosh isn't it odd to see them standing there together like BFF

TheStraitsofWTF · 12/05/2010 14:25

franca, ds has not let me have more than 2 hours sleep in 7 mo. He is to blame. he's behind GetOrf's stolen ballots too.

If you were a lefty liberal, would you stay or go? I can see that the most outwardly principled thing would be to go, but think that the right thing would be to stay, and work, and chip and chivvy and remind the tories just exactly why they have a majority now.

Agree the welfare reforms look grim, but to be fair, Labour were very grim on that issue too - not much to choose between them on that point (doesn't make it OK though - I fully expect DB to have his invalidity benefit withdrawn and have to spend miserable months/years showing just why he's really not fit to work, at further cost to his self-esteem and health)

Women, equalities agenda is all crap, agree there too

Stop blathering Dave
