Ha! Wonder what that's doing to the markets. he he he.

Seriously though - anyone else just feel like fast-forwarding through the next 4 years? It feels like it's going to be soooo grim.

On Radio 4 news, they're playing back Nick Clegg in the debates calling the Tory allies in Europe nutters and homophobes and deriding the Tory schools policy. He clearly meant it but those words are going to haunt him. Ha ha. Now there's some Tory on trying to justify it by saying Blair and Brown were always at each other's throats - yes but they shared the same broad ideology.

policywonk · 12/05/2010 13:21

'Cameron's much vaunted National Security Council will be headed by the FCO's pro-torture Peter Ricketts, who is personally up to his ears in the policy of complicity in torture, and in its continued cover-up.' Yuk yuk yuk. Still waiting to hear what's happened to the Libs' proposed public inquiry.

Austin Mitchell just called for some women candidates for Labour leader and suggested Yvette Cooper. Hooray.

ilovemydogandMrBrown · 12/05/2010 13:33

Is it right that the 1% increase of NI is being scrapped, but only for employers?

claig · 12/05/2010 13:35

Someone asked further up the thread about Andrew Lansley. He's my local MP, not often seen about the place. Used his parliamentary expenses to do up a Grade II listed property, then flipped his residence and sold the property (at a profit for him, of course).

He's not been conspicuous by his intelligent, well-thought-out speeches in the House.

policywonk · 12/05/2010 13:37

That's what I heard too, ILove. Good eh

So pasty face gets Chancellor and Cable gets mammoth poisoned chalice of dealing with what is bound to become a revitalized union movement, as the public sector gets slashed to bits.

thetoriesaretoast · 12/05/2010 13:44
