Im getting flashbacks to John O Farrell SpringHeeledJack - "Things Can only Get Better - 18 miserable years in the life of a labour supporter..."

Jack, i never got used to Labour being on the govt benches in HoC - whenever the Commons was on telly I always instinctively looked at the Opp benches and was suprised to see the Tories there. Does this count as a silver lining do you think?

dd2 is sitting here saying'bad things will happen now' in a creepy voice and making vote labour posters.

She is also put out she can't join the Labour party til she is 13.

DavidHameron · 11/05/2010 19:58

I should point out, in relation to my conspiracy theories, I am rubbish at predicting plot endings.

tvaerialmagpiebin · 11/05/2010 19:58

Me too, I just blubbed all over keyboard. Those lovely boys, bless 'em.

PMSL at Lord Snooty, how apt, the waxy git. I think Nick Robinson is going to get a brown nose very shortly.

Thank you lefties for keeping me vaguely sane amidst all this Tory crap. My Toryboy brother has just sent me a crowing text along the lines of "My man won, yours is toast". Grrrrrr.

ooooh, he is going to visit EVERY country in the UK in the first week.

Um.

It is not difficult. He is in England. That only leaves Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Even I could manage that, and that is without a jet for my convenience.

Beta, see my knives in the back conspiracy theory below: I do hope Mandy sticks one more in for you...

leavingonajetplane · 11/05/2010 20:01

Thats awful GML. "using his kids for PR?" Glad you told them where to go. If thats whats going on further out there, I am staying within the delightful confines of this safe thread.

I thought it was very strong gesture towards the press to bring his boys out the front door- like he was saying, well, at least we can live a more normal family life now. Plus of course they wanted to share the moment. Their sons will appreciate hearing about it when theyre older.

yes Len- is there a politician I like less?

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 11/05/2010 20:05

I will admit that I cried a little when he gave his speech. I thought it was a good speech and he seemed really at ease and happy at the end when he was talking about his family. Nice to see a genuine smile.

Am also pleased that he resigned before coalition announced.

DavidHameron · 11/05/2010 20:05

see! Ed Balls says he's not sure a deal has been done yet...

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 11/05/2010 20:06

Ha! at Ed Balls and "this is not the time for talking of the leadership".....you're running!

taffetacat · 11/05/2010 20:06

wubblybubbly:"I wonder if the country has watched that speech and given a collective groan. They bought all that shite from Murdoch and have just replaced a principled, dignified statesman with a ham faced cillit bang salesman.

What a fucking liberty"

Hilarious PMSL

< gibbers, cackles wildly, wishes still smoked >

Nymphadora · 11/05/2010 20:06
