Where had we got to? We'd agreed that we all love Cameron, right?

OP posts:

thetoriesaretoast - would be nice to read that. BelleMooney did a nice interview with him as well. I asked her why she wasnt doing more but then I recalled that she moved from the Times to the daily Mail

Jacaqueen · 10/05/2010 19:27

Sarah and the boys will be delighted I imagine.

TDiddy · 10/05/2010 19:32

I think the moderation of the 1st labour term proving that they could manage an economy + investment in public services in the second/third terms and then now chance for PR means that Iraq is the only stain ...

I am sick of hearing the words "unelected leader"..right along with "jobs tax" and "broken britain"

feels like I'm listening to permanent parrots.

ahundredtimes · 10/05/2010 19:34

I sick of hearing about

'the markets'

TDiddy · 10/05/2010 19:35

Wouldn't object to Clegg as PM in LIb-Lab altho' not likely. Could give a new face to the progressive forces and his charm could easily match DC's. He does DC better than DC.

Not likely though..

TDiddy · 10/05/2010 19:37

"The markets" is a sign of desperation . They are hurting cos they really want it.

We arent even sure if we want it. We are too busy thinking of how to make the big play for PR, what the best route.

LG

God they must be FROTHING at the mouth. Murdoch must have gone into a tail-spin.

God knows if they will manage a Lib/Lab coalition, but oooh, I'm enjoying this moment where it looks like it could just slip from Cameron's fingers [babyish]

TDiddy · 10/05/2010 19:42

oh my god on the Boulton spat. Gosh he really hates Brown.

Nice to see the NuLabour project dfocus on externals and not end as a Blair-Brown feud...

thetoriesaretoast · 10/05/2010 19:44

Vaguely remember from the Alastair Campbell diaries that he was actually at Adam Boulton's wedding - massive falling out.

TDiddy · 10/05/2010 19:47

Gosh- he was very emotional; Boulton.

As a special treat will have (slimy) ochras on the dinner plate....nice and virtuous...

ahundredtimes · 10/05/2010 19:50

AC was winding him up - marvellously imo

GetOrfMoiLand · 10/05/2010 19:52

I do adore Alastair Campbell.

TDiddy · 10/05/2010 19:55

I can see why AC is very attractive: passionate, dedicated, vulnerable, loyal all at the same time.

His DP is a brave lady...saw her in the street parting a fight with teenagers and kebab shop owbners with knives in her area. Other neighbours stayed in and she went out to put a stop to it

CatIsSleepy · 10/05/2010 19:56

AC is very cool

ooh I'm all confused- was almost hoping for a tory minority gov, am afraid of a liblab gov being torn apart by the right wing media but now....

I like the sound of a progressive government

will the press give it the slightest chance to succeed? can it succeed? was thinking just maybe, maybe if we pull out of recession...

ImSoNotTelling · 10/05/2010 19:56

i don;t know who that boulton bloke is

but that's a good demo of what gets on my nerves about politics in this country

men arguing with each other, another man trying to referree

house of commons rarara men throwing posho insults at each other, self congratulatory on their opposing teams, they might as well be lobbing bread rolls at each other

it makes me sick

bring on pr let's mix it up a bit and lose this ridiculous "mine's bigger than yours" posturing

MmeLindt · 10/05/2010 19:56

ooooh, good on AC. I do like him. He is Good Cop to Mandy's Bad Cop.

DH thought that AC was the journalist and Boulton the interviewee. Was most amused by that, thanks.

GetOrfMoiLand · 10/05/2010 19:57

I can imagine Fiona Millar doing that.

I like them both. I bet they have epic rows.

Ewe · 10/05/2010 19:58

I go and sit one exam (followed by a couple of medicinal vodkas) and you post over 500 odd posts since last time I checked in!

I genuinely can't keep up. New thread soon too? How is the collective mood? Frustrated lefties - we seem to be repeating ourselves on most of the politics threads involving others.

Sad to see Gordy go but think it is the Right Thing. I suspect D Miliband will win a leadership election, I would really rather Johnson though but I suspect he might be a little too old.

ahundredtimes · 10/05/2010 19:58

Will the Millibands run do you think?

Is this a good time to tell you all that I went to a party at their house once? I did. I knew E.M a bit. I might have to mention this ALL THE TIME if either one become PM.

ImSoNotTelling · 10/05/2010 20:00

sorry that last post was a bit random

MmeLindt · 10/05/2010 20:01

Slightly longer version of the Campbell Boulton spat.

Adam is the political editor of Sky News. And totally unbiased.
