Where had we got to? We'd agreed that we all love Cameron, right?

Lucas would be fucking BONKERS to refuse a rainbow coalition: its the only way the Green party will ever get any govt power at all.

Yes Leningrad said it about 45 minutes ago

TDiddy · 10/05/2010 18:59

NorkilyChallenged - the Bercow (John and Sally!) have it sussed; there will always be a minister in their household.

Never even clicked on Twiiter and planning a Facebook funeral for myself...MN for me.

Isn't she anyway Hameron? Or do her eyebrows just make her look like that?
Wouldn't bank on a Labour-led coalition being any more green than a tory-led one.

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 10/05/2010 19:03

Oh god I've started on the unelected leader thread - I shouldn't have even looked!

There is a lot of synergy on the green side for new Govt especially Lib-Lab: possibility on govt investing in this sector creating jobs with real medium/long term returns. Doesn't work so well for aggressive public sector cutting Tory govt but Lib-lab could prioritise.

All of us who think that the UK needs another sector other than being global bankers cashiers then there is our next industry to market leaders in....

I had a look at some of the other political threads and shuddered. I am nowhere near up to commenting like you regulars but am learning huge amounts. Will stay here if thats OK.

NC is playing a blinder, the definite losers in all of this is likely to be the Tories...Sherlock off to make his dinner....

Beachcomber · 10/05/2010 19:10

Well, well, well.

We all knew this would probably happen. I hope the Lab/Libs/Others do it. If they do it right the Tory party will never be the same again and British politics will be brought forward in one giant leap.

The 'meerkats' (LOVE THAT) will be just fine.

I thought Gordon would come into his own and be fandabbidoso and dignified and wonderful. I take my hat off to him. He will go down in history as a great man and no one will have heard of Murdoch et al in 30 years time.

If this does go ahead, and we are far from that yet, the 'progressive left' will need all the friends they can get - comrades, that is us.

Nymphadora · 10/05/2010 19:10

I think Caroline Lucas will stick with Lab but if she feels its not in her party interest she won't (apparantly thats how they work in London?)

Quattrocento · 10/05/2010 19:10

Gosh, I reported the bullying thread yesterday because there were two posters who sounded exactly like one person. Today I reported a post for being really rude ...

Am I turning into a traffic warden?

BIWI - hope things work out for you all, good luck.

"Also, GB's legacy might look much better than his premiership. He is a good man, a real public servant and I am ashamed at the way our press treated this good, sometimes sad, man."

I have just copied that from theYoungVisiotrs post, don't know who posted it originally. But that sums up completely what I feel about GB. He was treated abominably by the press, god damn them.

He has got a lot of integrity and probity I think. A good bloke.

I am still depressed about all this - to be honest if there is a lib/lab coalition the RW press will crucify them to such an extent the election coverage will look like it was managed by Beatrix Potter. I would rather the cons manage a minority government and get battered by lab/lib at every opportunity until the next election.

Ach, need to do bedtime....Italian tv says Hammy and Cleggy have slept with each other finally made a deal...I think they have seen Gordy's speech and thought it was all over....

I think Gordon is fab. I was a bit meh about him really, actually, probably up until the webchat last week. Then I fell in love.
