Where had we got to? We'd agreed that we all love Cameron, right?

Isnt

What are we going to do when they finally get it together. My days will be empty without this thread.

at unoriginal joke

This labour secret talks thing has injected a bit of excitement back

i thought con/lib was in the bag

and that libs would ditch PR for a taste of power

thetoriesaretoast · 10/05/2010 12:34

Labour secret talks is a great twist. I've lost interest in the Archers since all this started.

animula · 10/05/2010 12:35

It is hideously compelling. Must. get. a . move. on.

animula · 10/05/2010 12:37

Perhaps cunningly planned to move us all a step further towards the digital age? Seems designed to propel the waverers (such as myself) towards things like Twitter.

CatIsSleepy · 10/05/2010 12:47

I did open a twitter account but I have literally No Idea what to do next

anyone?

labour secret talks-are they to do with GB potentially resigning or something?

CatIsSleepy · 10/05/2010 12:48

thanks for info on leningate by the way MmeLindt

animula · 10/05/2010 12:49

Re Twitter - I think we ask Mme Lindt who to "follow".

Re Secret talks. I'll bet that was on the agenda. But latest thinking is that it was to put pressure on Conservatives ... maybe ....

Quattrocento · 10/05/2010 12:51

I'll match you SB, MmeL, and raise you Nick Clegg.

LordPanofthePeaks · 10/05/2010 12:51

what's a twitter?

MmeLindt · 10/05/2010 12:53

Don't think that Cleggy is on there though. Damn.

MmeLindt · 10/05/2010 12:58

ooh, I do have Nick Clegg. Hope he has seen all my #dontdoitnick tweets.

The rest are mainly MNetters. And my brother. And Jonny Depp, but I have to assume he is not the real JD.

I have 103 followers and follow 120 people.

Basically you sign up, have a nosy to find someone you know then follow them. You can look at who they follow and who follows them to give you new ideas.

You have to keep your posts short, only 140 characters.

CatIsSleepy · 10/05/2010 12:58

thank you Pan for being crapper at this new-fangled stuff than me (unless you were joking of course, in which case I take it all back)

good tip animula! MmeLindt, I think you are my twitter guru, who should I follow? (apart from you, obviously )

MmeLindt · 10/05/2010 13:07

Just discovered Armando Iannucci recently, and Jon Swaine.

AlphaMummy, India Knight, Caitlin Moran, Brian Cox, Jeremy Hardy, Boris Johnstone, Sarah Brown (obviously), Barak Obama, Eddie Izzard all good.

Also follow a couple of people like Montoya for light relief, he posts really stupid comments like: gonna sleep out in the boat tonight, should be fun!!!!!!

Dita was getting a bit wearying. Stopped following her today. There is only so much self-absorbed blahblah I can take. Today she was worried about: Sadly, MAC Moxie is extinct. I've been holding onto my half-tube for about 15 years! Where have all the matte lipsticks gone?

LordPanofthePeaks · 10/05/2010 13:10

no cat, I too will follow MmeLindt, once I know how.

I am impressed at how effortlessly my ignorance has been achieved!

CatIsSleepy · 10/05/2010 13:12

oh that's great Mme, thank you

(i will admit to being rather in love with Brian cox )

armando I, jeremy hardy, caitlin moran yes good idea!

Bucharest · 10/05/2010 13:16

I can't join anything else in cyberspace or my geraniums really will wither and die. (and dp will chuck puter in bin)

V impressed Mme Lindt though.

Like the idea of marxist dad Miliband. Could we perhaps ask Mother Miliband to be PM?

waves to Penthe if you're still here...I've been awol from Little Italy too, ventured briefly into Actives this morning to post on Lshaped room thread and a few others but many many scary thread titles had me scuttling back here.

Can we have this lefty section going forever? It's really got my mojo working again.

CatIsSleepy · 10/05/2010 13:18

ok, am not sure whether to reveal the depths of my Twitter ignorance, but um, when you follow someone, do you talk to them? reply to their tweets? tweet back?

thetoriesaretoast · 10/05/2010 13:19

Charlie Brooker definitely worth following too

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 10/05/2010 13:20

Hello all! My you've all been busy this morning - took me ages to catch up on all this!!!

First - sorry to hear about the bereavements. It does put the frenzy of the last few days into perspective.

MmeLindt - could you e-mail me a copy of the bullying thread? I was half way through that and would like to know where it got to.

(my e-mail is t h e s t a r r s at b t c o n n e c t dot c o m)

And I see your Nick Clegg and raise you Barack Obama.

I follow Phil Jupitus and Bill Bailey on Twitter as well - they're quite good fun, and various news sites - there's one called Breaking News, which does what it says on the tin!

Just about to put the telly on and catch up with Hameron and Eggs with Brown Sauce saga.

BBC 3 mins ago - Gordon Brown and Clegg met earlier today! Cleggy planning to treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen when he goes back to Cameron et al?

Penthesileia · 10/05/2010 13:24

Hey Bucharest .

I am scared of twitter, and totally underuse facebook. I'm not even that old, so can't blame age... Just too lazy to get the hang of it.

thetoriesaretoast · 10/05/2010 13:25

That must have been when no. 10 wouldn't say where Gordon was going!
