Pondering, and while slightly more optimistic than we once were, still really quite unhappy Lefty thread

Where had we got to? We'd agreed that we all love Cameron, right?

Wonder if that means anything, that they are meeting with Mandy & Co.

Penthesileia · 10/05/2010 12:08

Is anyone else less than impressed by the "90 minute talks" from which Lib Dems & Cons have emerged this morning? The BBC are reporting this as if it is some kind of Herculean effort.

Our faculty board meetings take longer to debate the fate of the water cooler.

Slackers.

FiveOrangePips · 10/05/2010 12:09

Welcome Curly, I am a Scot too, N.E, brrrrr. I think the beeb is okay, for keeping up to date, Scottish papers are dire though - I only buy local ones. I don't have t.v so I am following it all online.

I hope you are feeling better.

Heathen. No you are a bully and you bullied me over many threads on the UKIP post. You were not alone but were the main protaganist, I would not noramlly write this but when I saw your name come up, I knew I would have to reply. Leningrad is not so bad, but he was calling for Daftpunk to be banned if I recall.

(for anyone wondering about Leningate)

Nymphadora · 10/05/2010 12:10

I read 'I can get no official comment' as Mme Lindt had been trying.

I saw something thuis am about that group meeting with GB about standing down too...

thetoriesaretoast · 10/05/2010 12:10

I suspect they spend more time in a huddle with their own side than face to face with the enemy. But even so, 90 minutes doesn't seem to be taking it all very seriously, does it?

I have started reading the Dundee Courier online occasionally. It is rather amusing.

Penthesileia · 10/05/2010 12:12

You make it sound like a High School Prom, thetoriesaretoast.

MmeLindt · 10/05/2010 12:12

oooh, BBC Radio2 are following me on Twitter.

Which means I have to be witty or erudite or or or...

BREAKING NEWS

I can reveal that the Liberal Democrat negotiating team met over the weekend not just with the Tories but, in secret, with a team from Labour consisting of Peter Mandelson, Ed Miliband, Ed Balls and Andrew Adonis, says the BBC's political editor Nick Robinson. So far, I can get no official comment from either party about what was discussed. "

Nymphadora · 10/05/2010 12:14

Am I going to have to join twitter ? Everyone is quoting it atm

MmeLindt maybe they think you are in the know?

Penthesileia · 10/05/2010 12:15

MmeLindt! You are Twitter royalty!

I am a sort of Scot in exile too. Both parents Scottish, but military dad meant we lived all over the place.

animula · 10/05/2010 12:16

Indeed, Lenin. Their mother must be both smug (in a right-on, Leftie way) and conflicted.

FiveOrangePips · 10/05/2010 12:16

eek MmeL, that would be a sure way to keep me quiet!

I read the P&J when my mum is here, but mix between the Northern Scot and the Forres Gazette (which are weekly).

ImSoNotTelling · 10/05/2010 12:16

oh bollocks must read before posting

sorry for x posts

am doing everything back to front as parents will be here any sec

MmeLindt · 10/05/2010 12:17

SB follows me too.

Good info on Twitter, there have been some very funny comments about the election. It is great for breaking news.

Hassled · 10/05/2010 12:18

90 minutes is nothing. Lightweights. Bah.

I like this Labour involvement news - I'm more baffled than I was before but still. Mandelson can probably patronise them all into agreement.

They are doing it by scissors paper stone.

Hameron is at a disadvantage as his fingers are made of chipolatas.

thetoriesaretoast · 10/05/2010 12:22

Oh Lenin, I naively think that brotherly love overcomes all for Ed 'n' Dave - sort of like Two Little Boys by Rolf Harris. If Dave falls off the horse, Ed will help him up.

I;ve got a horrible mental image of hameron doing scary finger wriggling at me like edward scissorhands or freddie kreugar, and his fingers are big greasy bendy savaloys. and his big hammy face leering behind

is genuinely scary
