Where had we got to? We'd agreed that we all love Cameron, right?

Hiya

DP is causing a rumpus on fb. He is getting rather erm, het up, about the prospect of ConDem, and is losing friends at a rate of knots, but also getting secretive pms off Labour Party friends congratulating him on his language :D

We are keeping our LP posters up a while longer, just in case of more elections. Our house is getting funny looks now. We might as well have a red flag out front.

Ah well, at least the NE stayed nice and left. As if it would be anything else, we still have a pit winding gear up the road fgs.

Ninjacat · 09/05/2010 23:20

Glad you are keeping the Red Flag flying Butter

Ninjacat · 09/05/2010 23:21

Can I admit to deleting con voters from my fb. Very childish I know but quite cathartic.

lol at the FB wars.

Sooo, tell me more about the Milibands please, as I have not really paid much attention to them.DH embarrassed me yesterday by gaily discussing the leadership contest and saying who he thought would do the deed.

Ed was the one who was here on the webchat, the climate secretary, so his brother is obviously the more senior politician. Why would the younger one be up for the top job?

MmeLindt · 10/05/2010 07:24

Heavens! Just caught up on the Kay Burley interview. How unprofessional.

taffetacat · 10/05/2010 07:56

thanks everyone. that was the final kick up the arse I needed to join the LP. should have done it decades ago.

auberginesrus · 10/05/2010 07:59

Morning, have been at the inlaws all weekend, and just been trying to catch up on here.

Off to drop of DCs and get to work now will try and catch up tonight, and we will see if something has actually happened.

Am thinking my prediction on previous thread was way off the mark (was hopelessly optimistic though) and Hamnegg is on the cards..

taffetacat · 10/05/2010 08:14

oh and I used evil Tory DH's card to pay

just.for.a.laugh.

taffetacat · 10/05/2010 08:20

the sight of George Os on the front page of the Grauniad has made me bring a bit of my breakfast back up

theyoungvisiter · 10/05/2010 08:28

I've just been listening to the Today prog. Apparently if LibCon talks fail "the markets will give us some more time" for LibLab talks.

Arr, very good of you, I'm sure, Master. [tugs forelock]

Sorry, I know it's childish to be annoyed by this, but it's the patrician finger-wagging way it's phrased.

MmeLindt · 10/05/2010 08:36

lol Taffeta. Hope he notices it on his statement.

ImSoNotTelling · 10/05/2010 08:53

"Shares in London have surged in early trading. At 0835 BST, the 100 index was up 189 points, a rise of 3.7%, at 5312. The big UK banks - which were hit hard last week - are among the highest risers this morning: Barclays up 12%, Lloyds up 10% and RBS up 8%. "

So much for OMG THE MAAARKETTTTTS panic panic panic

Morning, just ventured into active conversations and they're quoting the Sun as though it's the sermon from the bloody mount.
"well, the Sun says Cameron is right" Feel urge to say no-shit-Sherlock for second time in entire life in very immature childish way.

Dp now keeps saying to me "yes, you've said all this before" every time the silly news shows Ham'n'egg'n'Gordy going off to the Remembrance Day thing (only bit of footage they seem to have) and I chunter on about the Libs losing their leftish voters for tonguing Hammy, and the Conservatives smacking Hammy's botty for even thinking about electoral reform so they should be allowed to get on with it and then in 6 mths time, they'll both have lost all credibility and we can start again.

I need to go and read about the Milipedes, I don't know enough about either of them, at least I can tell them from Ham'n'egg but Ed balls has got that shiny face thing going on as well. Which is the leftiest of all the contenders? Has Harriet really said she isn't interested? Must go and read some more.

ImSoNotTelling · 10/05/2010 08:56

Just goes to show we should be doing the politics for the good of the people who live in the country not a few shadowy super-rich money men.

And if our economy is so dependent on teh unpredictable whims of these markets, isn't it time to extracate ourselves somewhat? They should be working for the improvement and enrichment of the whole country. Not holding us hostage while creaming off all the money for the top.

Out with the ruling elite!
In with being nice and that sort of thing!

RAH!

ImSoNotTelling · 10/05/2010 08:58

Harriet harman in charge would be the bollocks.

Never going to happen.

Beachcomber · 10/05/2010 09:04

Apparently the markets are busy 'soaring' after the Greek bailout.

MmeLindt · 10/05/2010 09:11

www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/armando-iannucci-the-result-perfectly-expresses-co ntempt-confusion-and-sheer-bloodymindedness-1969995.html Have you seen Armano Iannucci's column today?]]

I liked "It would be an interesting study, but not as funny as the look on MacKenzie's face as he slumped tiredly back in his chair like a walrus who'd just eaten a bad puffin."

MmeLindt · 10/05/2010 09:12

How many LP members are on here? Can we all gang up on HArriet?

ImSoNotTelling · 10/05/2010 09:28

I appreciated your interjection, justa!

GetOutOfMoiWayTories · 10/05/2010 09:33

Hello leftie lovelies.

I have not been on MN all weekend. Would it be entirely unreasonalble to start a thread entitled 'AIBU to blame all this on you sitting on the fence Lib Dem voters, and to blame Nick Clegg's ham love on you all?'

Bloody Nick Clegg. It is his one moment of glory and isn't he eaking it out.

So, for the sake of the economy all serious discussion on electroal reform will be gone.

Honestly. I just hope the tories fuck it all up, have a row with the lib dems in August and limp on with a minority government until another election. And hop ethe labour party doesn't rip itself to pieces in the meantime.

theyoungvisiter · 10/05/2010 09:35

ha ha! V good Armando Iannucci article. Yes, I think the thing that pleased me most about this election was that it wiped the smug grin off the Sun's front page.

I don't think I could have borne it to have the Tories in power AND the Sun crowing "it was the Sun wot won it" again.

The Sun poured every ounce of vitriol they had into fuelling the Tory campaign and it did shag all. Ha!
