Even if labour and libs form a coalition they will only have 8 seats between them more than cons...

2 million more people voted con than labour..

what concerns me is the number of people who were unable to vote because they were still queueing when the polls closed.

What about their votes? Doesn't anyone take those into account? Or is it just tough?

ok so GB is pm for now. why not have another G/E within the month wich then will make up for those not able to vote due to the Qs.

I think by law it's tough, although I do think more should have been done to make sure people know that Everything Stops At 10.
Obviously more should have been done wrt getting more people in to deal with what must surely have been an obviously higher turnout than before [what with the tv debates etc], thus getting more people through the doors and out quicker.
Maybe it should be Midnight to midnight next time? [shrugs]

If the Lib Dems agree to support him, he will have enough supporters in Parliament to give him the confidence of the house (ie most of the seats will support him) therefore he is still PM

I've not seen the figures but I think you're forgetting the Ulster Unionists who almost certainly align with the Tories. The other small parties will find themselves in abnormally powerful positions I fear.

The last general election in 2005 cost more than 80million quid to organise!

What SHOULD happen is that GB & DC go back to the Houses of Parliament. They start at separate ends of the building and:

Skip through singing 'All join on if you want to play Government'

If no clear winner by lunchtime there would be a game of British Bulldog.

If it is still undecided at the end of lunchtime GB & DC will fight in the park at hometime.

Lance Price (who he?) on the BBC has just suggested that Cons should be allowed to form a minority government and Lab and Lib should be a constructive opposition (protect frontline services etc.). Another election in a couple of years. Sounds good to me, but it ain't gonna happen.

Nessa - and the elections are also funded by private donations, which works very badly for the little parties. Another election so soon would quite probably be utterly infeasible for, say, the Greens.

And would probably be economically disastrous for LibDems. (Am I right about that?? Someone else come and say.)
