Meanwhile, many English are thinking we really ought to actively encourage the SNP.

dreamingofsun · 07/05/2010 08:42

seems a rather silly point of view - you should be thinking of the future of this country not the past. if labour hang on in power and continue to screw the economy up, sooner or later the big fat cheques that scotland get from england might be in jeopardy

AvaGoOnTheSwingometer · 07/05/2010 08:43

No Tory seats in Scotland? Yes there is, Mundell.

girlylala0807 · 07/05/2010 08:44

Eh...

there is 1 you know, im sure of it.

Im happy with the result here to though.

girlylala0807 · 07/05/2010 08:46

Hang on,

big fat cheques from england? Do we not contribute to the economy at all then?

thatsnotmymonkey · 07/05/2010 08:46

is there?? on the beeb just now they were saying none.... will go check

dreaming of sun consider my wrist slapped.

doggiesayswoof · 07/05/2010 08:47

Wrong though OP - there is one Tory, the same as 2005

David Mundell

dreaming - I personally could do without the "fat cheques" as you put it. Give the scottish government its own tax raising powers imo

Your view is very patronising

DuelingFanjo · 07/05/2010 08:49

I wish we in Wales could do what you do
Can't believe that the Tories have so many Welsh seats, though it's not surprising in the areas that they have them I guess. Mostly rich areas.

FFS - Wales was completely fucked over by the Thatcher government and still there are people here who vote Tory.

Should definitely be a re-count in Cardiff North.

thatsnotmymonkey · 07/05/2010 08:49

why no bold??

you are right, there is one. only one though

You would need to put the stars round each word separately to get bold

duelingfanjo I feel for you - it's so unfair that we get a parliament and you get an assembly. I would be hacked off too by people voting Tory - I am glad that scotland at least remembers.

doggiesayswoof · 07/05/2010 08:54

Stewie me too. I like minority government here - I'm pleased there's going to be a balanced parliament UK wide

thatsnotmymonkey · 07/05/2010 08:55

and dreamingofsun Cameron has himself confirmed he is a Thatcherite. I am not going all misty eyed over poll tax or social housing selling or any other of her crack pot ideas.

Stewie, I am feeling you.

I don't think there has been any changes at all map thing here
There is a north south divide (in Scotland) however.

SwansEatQuince · 07/05/2010 09:00

map

dreamingofsun · 07/05/2010 09:02

sorry i must have missed cameron saying he was introducing poll tax and selling off council houses.

thatsnotmymonkey · 07/05/2010 09:05

dreamin... brilliant come back. really searing

OP posts:
cluelessnchaos · 07/05/2010 09:05

Those big fat cheques will be more than covered by the oil and gas revenues that have been skimmed off the north sea over the last 50 years.

expatinscotland · 07/05/2010 09:07

Hurray! Glad to be here.

doggiesayswoof · 07/05/2010 09:09

It would be hard for cameron to sell off any more council houses tbh

Not many left to sell

weegiemum · 07/05/2010 09:18

Hooray! Only part of the UK to swing to the Left

Cos no matter what you think, Labour in Scotland is pretty left!

expatinscotland · 07/05/2010 09:21

I'm so glad I never have to deal with that Tory lot of twonks.

My only hope is that there will be further devolution as even a Tory realises that they're not welcome here.

EVER.

thatsnotmymonkey · 07/05/2010 09:35
