hello

That was my time too Inmy. I had the radio on by the bed though and drowsed through a few declarations. (In my drowsiness heard an interview with Nick Griffin - not nice)

Feel very deflated and the weather is grey and gloomy. An Alice-in-wonderland version of the Friday morning in 97........)

Have had a hard time trying to explain to an interested DD who had actually won (no one at the moment, dear. Gordon B can still live at No 10 but he won fewer seats. He needs to make friends with Nick Clegg.)

And then there's what will happen with Scotland voting Labour and England Tory.........

thetoriesaretoast · 07/05/2010 09:20

Local telly news here in West Country utterly depressing. Swathes and swathes of blue. We've retained our LibDem MP though.

So, if a Lib-Lab coalition comes about ( and a few other stragglers like Green etc) - who would be PM?

thetoriesaretoast · 07/05/2010 09:23

Million dollar question, LadyBlah. Gordon's head will roll, I think.

jenny60 · 07/05/2010 09:24

bless the cots. Please don't ever leave the Union: England would be Tory forever.

jenny60 · 07/05/2010 09:25

Scots

Beachcomber · 07/05/2010 09:25

Imagine if Gordon Brown goes down in history as the man who avoided a second great depression and brought electoral reform to the UK!

(Ok I know its a bit exaggerated but YKWIM)

Bucharest · 07/05/2010 09:26

Hello Getorf! Was wondering where you'd gone.
Been and posted on megalomaniac thread and Mme Lindts. Not going anywhere else though.
Always wanted to say No shit Sherlock and managed to slip it in with the Megalomaniacs.

Much love to the Scots from here

Laugs · 07/05/2010 09:27

I watched bits through the night but didn't come online.

Aren't they now saying a Lib-Con coalition/ agreement is more likely? Gah! How on earth do they belong together?

Policy I thought of your disgruntled dad when Zac Goldsmith got in. Who is that red-faced prick next to him? Ugh. He's making me angry every time we see that clip.

Beachcomber · 07/05/2010 09:27

And brought in the minimum wage.

taffetacat · 07/05/2010 09:29

lol @ laugs red faced prick next to Goldsmith. Even evil Tory DH baulked at that.

theyoungvisiter · 07/05/2010 09:29

can i just say - if i hear one more time what the fecking markets think of this I WILL SCREAM.

I know, I know with my grownup trousers on that the market view is important.

But my inner teenager wants to shriek "it's a bloody democracy! The 'market' does not get a vote!"

Aitch · 07/05/2010 09:30

i think we scots aren't so frightened of a hung parly so felt able to vote true red, iykwim? we've had hung parly for yonks.

policywonk · 07/05/2010 09:31

Thanks laugs I was half-asleep when the result came in so didn't see the coverage

Chuka Umunna has won in Streatham

Brown can't hang on, surely? Clegg made it pretty plain that he wouldn't work with him.

LadyBlaBlah · 07/05/2010 09:31

But I thought I heard some vacuous journo saying that the only chance of Labour forming a govt/coalition is if GB stays.........if he resigns then it is all wide open again??

I don't think Clegg is gonna do a deal.

MarionCole · 07/05/2010 09:32

I'm not going anywhere near active convos today.

ImSoNotTelling · 07/05/2010 09:32

Morning all

Impressed that some of you were up all night

We went to bed and watched it until conked out at about 1.30. Stayed up that late only as DH off today so don't have to wrangle the kids on my own!

theyoungvisiter · 07/05/2010 09:32

"the markets" were the ones who predicted that the minimum wage would bring Communist style chaos to the labour market and bring the UK to its knees.

Look where that ended up.

And now "the markets" are all running around shrieking like girlies because someone in Greece has chucked a few petrol bombs and the UK electorate thinks labour actually aren't that bad after all.

Get a backbone you feebleists!

theyoungvisiter · 07/05/2010 09:33

sorry the "get a backbone" was directed at the money-men.

Not my dear co-lefties on this thread.

That's right Aitch we is progressive.

I just know I'm not going to get any work done today, just like yesterday. Can't settle to anything. Will just have to catch up over the weekend.

Hope everyone's DCs are ok what with the broken arms and asthma attacks and everything.

My DD1 has just been diagnosed with asthma so will no doubt soon be expanding my circle of MN mates .

Nymphadora · 07/05/2010 09:35

Gap has narrowed again. Labour can't do it but if it closes its not a bad thing. esp when you add in friendly parties.

dd2 was shouting down with Tories all the way to school. Saw her teacher and he has been up all night . They are going to have a long day !
