Do post your advance questions here.

MrJustAbout - of course Labour and the Lib Dems will work together if they have to You can't advocate PR and refuse to work with other parties, even if you don't like them. But the Lib Dems will demand PR, that's for sure (plus the other three things).

Wolfcub · 03/05/2010 20:56

ohyoubadbadkitten he is still the prime minister. Government still functions whilst an election is ongoing and Ministers (and prime ministers) are expected to still do their jobs. He will be prime minister until and unless another party wins the election and names a PM and it will be a sad sad day in our house if that happens.

LadyBlaBlah · 03/05/2010 20:56

He did well

Don't think dave will come back

PortBlacksandVoter · 03/05/2010 20:56

and if he was going to spend 3 hours talking about economic recovery or breastfeeding, at this point in time, I know what I would prefer him to work out!

Molesworth · 03/05/2010 20:57

MrJustAbout, please don't talk as if a tory win is inevitable

MrJustAbout · 03/05/2010 20:57

3x the level of answers that we got when David Cameron was last on. Not every question gets answered, but then again we wouldn't expect that.

PortBlacksandVoter · 03/05/2010 20:58

If only the election was decided by doing a 'stars in their eyes'.....

longfingernails · 03/05/2010 20:58

He didn't address the point that he was running a deficit BEFORE the recession.

Very dishonest not to admit it. Everyone understands why governments have to borrow during recessions.

But he just can't wriggle out of the fact that he was borrowing more than he was getting in tax, running up the national debt, in the boom years 2002-2007.

An unforgivable error.

I am afraid that Gordon did not address my question which is why are front line nurses being lost to the NHS as it attempts to balance its budget.Under his watch.
Forget care at home,I am talking about sick children on a paediatric ward that cannot cope with its current staff allocation, never mind managing with fewer nurses.
Sorry Gordon, this NHS worker won't be voting labour on thursday.

Molesworth · 03/05/2010 20:59

I thought he did answer that question, longfingernails?

octothechildherder · 03/05/2010 20:59

I know it is an issue for people and it needs to be addressed, but the politicians will just nod and smile, nod and smile this week - they arent in a position to promise anything really.

onebatmother · 03/05/2010 20:59

"So to précis tonight's webchat

GORDON ROCKS"

NAO.

So: dya think it's
"Who put me with those women? Ridiculous! Who's idea was that? I think it was Sue's."

Or:
"Sue - I love you. Brilliant idea of yours - everybody! Be more like Sue!"

VengefulKitty · 03/05/2010 21:00

A bit off topic, but is it me not watching enough TV or are there no 'Party Political Broadcasts' this year?

I seem to remember years ago my head being flooded with PPBs but have not seen one this year!

MrJustAbout · 03/05/2010 21:00

Vessela - my worry is that I'm not sure they will work together: Nick Clegg and Gordon Brown seem to have enough of a personality conflict that they couldn't function together, even (or especially) in politics.

Remember, Gordon Brown gets the first chance (on behalf of his party) to form the next government - even if in 3rd place in the vote and with fewer seats than the tories. Constitutionally, I don't think anyone knows exactly what would happen if this government didn't have him at its head. After all, that's what I think it would take ...

Molesworth · 03/05/2010 21:01

justabout, I don't know how you cope

btw re: your post about priorities - if we had more women in parliament I think issues like nappies for children with disabilities would be higher up the agenda.

vesela · 03/05/2010 21:01

argh it makes me so angry the way everyone's prepared to let Gordon Brown off the hook over the deficit. People are just hearing what they want to hear and are prepared to swallow his explanation hook, line and sinker.

I don't want the Tories getting their hands on the economy either, but Gordon needs to stop getting a free ride on this one.

mumutd · 03/05/2010 21:01

Ooh I've seen a couple of good labour ones, especially the one done by Eddie Izzard

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/05/2010 21:01

ok, thanks for the clarification , I know theres no mps and erroneously thought that meant no ministers

Heathcliffscathy · 03/05/2010 21:01

vengeful there was one by the tories on c4 tonight. it was shit.

nutbrownhair · 03/05/2010 21:02

Hi Mr Brown, please could someone ask one of the Conservatives if they intend to add VAT to our fuel bills? There was a rumour about this before, and our house is already damp because of the celtic weather and having some riverstone problems so really worried about higher prices this winter. PS Fantastic oratory in speech today = more please!

MrJustAbout · 03/05/2010 21:02

Molesworth - I'm actually the optimistic adult in my house!

megcleary · 03/05/2010 21:02

I agree Jux more information on other media, but the gold question is so long ago now twill be forgot I fear.
