Do post your advance questions here.

Here here bumper. I support a referendum on webchat reform! Were new registrations shut for this one HQ? We seem to have a higher number of people with agendas.

SanctiMoanyArse · 03/05/2010 20:24

(No probs Atlantis- I might not be able to manage work but if I can help people with this MA in ASD then I absolutely will; I refuse to be an entire burden LOL)

SideBored · 03/05/2010 20:24

Gordon - Whats for dinner???????????????

GordonBrown · 03/05/2010 20:24

To lou031205 and others who asked about cuts in special needs education. Ed Balls has said that schools' budgets will rise and we have set aside additional funding for the coming years.

GordonBrown · 03/05/2010 20:24

Hunkermunker, thanks very much for your question about breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is really important. We want to do more to support mums in breastfeeding and we know that may mean strengthening the regulations relating to marketing and I'd like to come back to you on the detail of your question as I'm not familiar with all of it.

scottishmummyofone · 03/05/2010 20:25

lol @ his tory name!!

spudmasher · 03/05/2010 20:25

Hello Gordon.
I was devastated to hear that the New Primary Curriculum had been shelved in the closing days of Parliament.
If you are elected, will it all be back on?
If you are not elected, what will happen? I felt so sad for Sir Jim Rose...all that effort.

gemmamc · 03/05/2010 20:25

sophable - it's fair to say Gordon has had a role in deregulating the City. But the Tories would have done (and will do if elected) much much worse given the whole deregulation ideology was originally their idea...

GordonBrown · 03/05/2010 20:26

Louii - Were you at school with me? The links market is the biggest of its kind in Europe - still. Every year my kids have a debate about the ghost train - one loves it, one is a bit less keen...

Thanks for answering the question on the deficit - it makes a lot of sense.

Andrea, the Tories will do nothing for lower-income families - Labour is the party for the poorest in society so please vote Labour.

teamcullen · 03/05/2010 20:26

Thank you Gordon. I would love to see the kind of investment for young people like we have enjoyed for early years this past 10 years.

I think the problem will go much worse with a Tory government who love to blame the young people and think more policing will cure things. They dont seem to have any interest in investing time and money into these kids.

Beaaware · 03/05/2010 20:26

apologises did'nt read the small print and got carried away, will write to GB if he's still in power later this week.

lou031205 · 03/05/2010 20:26

Thank you for that reassurance, Gordon. Please don't make the mistake of allowing Social Services to decide who gets disability budgets, though. As I said. We get DLA for DD1 now, but Social services refuse us respite because they restrict access.

clam · 03/05/2010 20:27

Mr Brown, I actually think you're a decent man who is well-intentioned. And Sarah is terrific.
But I'm sorry that it's turning out this way for you.

vesela · 03/05/2010 20:27

Gordon - how can you possibly justify what you've done in terms of overspending? How can you justify all the money so badly spent? I'm a Lib Dem and believe the only government we can afford is a Lib Dem one. And I won't be cowed into anything else.

anastaisia · 03/05/2010 20:27

Please consider this a follow up to the home ed question.

You say now that it is to protect children; this has changed a number of times and been for education/child protection depending on who is talking and who they are talking too.

Now that you state it is child protection - do you have plans to make parents who don't use nursery sign up with the LA? After all, if it is about protecting children and not about education as such, then this would make perfect sense.

GordonBrown · 03/05/2010 20:27

sophable - we set up the Jenkins Commission - couldn't get agreement. I think the best way forward is a referendum where you make the decision by October 2011 - it's best that the people finally decide.

bluecardi · 03/05/2010 20:27

Its wrong that people can't get the nhs treatment they need just because of their address. Why do you allow such a system? What are your plans for this?

MrJustAbout · 03/05/2010 20:27

I'll second that, clam.

JackiePaper · 03/05/2010 20:27

Mr Brown, I would also like to see the regulations regarding the advertising of infant formula to be tightened dramatically.

I am a Breastfeeding Support Worker for the NHS in Worcestershire. Will funding be made available for the same service accross the country?

And will Labour cut frontline public sector pay?

decafgirl · 03/05/2010 20:27

spudsmasher I know nothing of the shelving you speak of...is it not happening then? x

frakkinnuts · 03/05/2010 20:27

Please a proper answer on ID cards:

Are you committed to keeping them?
Will they be compulsory? For everyone or for specific sectors?
Will British citizens overseas be entitled to have one?
What exactly, in your view, will they do against terrorism etc?

VirtualPA · 03/05/2010 20:27

Gordon - Are you answering questions you have already designed answers too?

maltesermuncher · 03/05/2010 20:28

Mr Brown, I voted lib dem in 2005 as a protest vote against Tony Blair's decision to go to war in Iraq.

I have decided to vote labour again on thursday. Nothing to do with the spin doctors, organised walk abouts and forced photo opps, but because I genuinely believe you want to do your best for the British people.

Good luck!
