Thank you for answering my point on asylum seekers Gordon.

I read your answer out to my five year old and she said,

"hmm but how are you going to make the BNPs (sic) change their mind if you won't say new people coming is a good thing?

love elly xxxxxxxxxxxxxx."

WhiteNoise · 03/05/2010 20:16

CaptainNancy the PEA doesn't cover teacher time for attending meetings which are at least 4 a year (2 CLA/2 PEP) and likely to be more when children change placements/schools/complex situations).

MrJustAbout · 03/05/2010 20:16

I broadly agree about tax credits but there's no chance of a labour majority, so you would need to work with other parties.

There will be no Labour government next time but there may be a Lib-Lab one.

GordonBrown · 03/05/2010 20:16

mothernature - there is a national apprentices website now www.apprenticeships.org.uk. There are more than 200,00 apprenticeships and a national apprenticeship service so that people can find out about opportunities right across the country.

louii · 03/05/2010 20:16

Did you go to the links market and whats your favourite ride?

Heathcliffscathy · 03/05/2010 20:16

Dear Gordon, could you please explain to me why in the 97 manifesto you promised a Crown review on electoral reform and it has never happened?

Once in power, the need for reform evaporated?

abdnhiker · 03/05/2010 20:17

Gordon - you haven't answered why you ran a deficit during the boom years.

crumpette · 03/05/2010 20:17

Mr Brown, I am curious- is it true that your 'intimate' relationship with Tony Blair is the subject of a high court writ?

Also, can you reassure me that if I vote for you you will never have Hazel Blears in your cabinet again?

MadameDefarge · 03/05/2010 20:17

Ok, MN just lost my post. So here goes again re Greensleeves post.

SN children without a statement are treated as NT children for all administrative purposes. My boy has been on action plus since nursery, and is diagnosed as SN by LHA professionals. Yet in terms of support and school admissions, he is counted as NT, even at primary level. When he goes to secondary, he will be treated at NT despite his clear SN needs. This policy has failed him and countless others.

Having an SN child in the state system, this is something you must be aware of. I do hope the Every Child Matters agenda works for you better than it has for my son.

This is the thing I am most bitter about. My gorgeous little boy has been failed again and again. And when He needs to go to secondary next year, his SN will not be admissible. How bonkers is that?

Will this policy change soon?

Rosie2010 · 03/05/2010 20:17

Is there really a difference across the parties on child tax credits?

Helium · 03/05/2010 20:18

Just want to second octothechildherder - well done Mr Brown - cant understand why you put yourselves through the gruelling politics mill - but good on you anyway!!

Rosie2010 · 03/05/2010 20:18

and are childrens centre safe?

honeydragon · 03/05/2010 20:18

-dec 18th for me place was stuffed to the gills with people having baboies that day and my care was amazing despite them being overburdened don't panic

Greensleeves · 03/05/2010 20:18

sorry to dent protocol, but the education/SN provision questions are really important...

Fenouille · 03/05/2010 20:18

Very pertinent question, abdnhiker

SweetnessAndShite · 03/05/2010 20:18

Mr Brown, I don't want help with Childcare so I can go back to work. I want help to stay at home and look after my children myself. What will Labour do for me?

auburnlizzy78 · 03/05/2010 20:19

Why is no one asking about cutting the NATIONAL DEBT rather than reducing the deficit? Even with the inevitable tax rises and spending cuts we are going to get in the next parliament, the national debt will still be rising by 80 billion pounds every year.

When do we start paying this money back? Before or after we pay off the unsupported public-sector pensions black hole of around 800 billion pounds?

fruitshootsandheaves · 03/05/2010 20:19

Lib-Lab sounds like some sort of dog cross. A labrador crossed with a Liberian spaniel perhaps.

decafgirl · 03/05/2010 20:19

Totally agree with octothechildherder - good luck, I really hope it goes well for you (us)!

MrJustAbout · 03/05/2010 20:19

I'm a swing voter, edging towards voting Lib Dem but with sympathy for Labour's position.

Are you saying that I shouldn't vote tactically?

megcleary · 03/05/2010 20:19

champagnesocialistsuperno
I have broken no rules by asking my one question, who am i upstting by repeating it? up?
I do not expect and answer but this is an opportunity to ask the man in question why he did it so why should I pass it

GordonBrown · 03/05/2010 20:19

My Tory candidate name - John EastFergus-Adam. I'm told my MNTowers this isn't the best you've had, but I still think he'd lose his deposit...
