because of the hugs amount of misinformation disseminated by murdoch owned press and the two main political parties who have a vested interested in maintaining the status quo/no electoral reform

this webpage is a useful counter to the various spurious accusations flying around.

a libdem vote is not wasted.

whatever your political colours, i'm begging you, don't vote based on fear, vote positively. vote hopefully. if we all did, we would get change in this country.

"There is an interesting article in the daily mail online advising the tories not to vote tory! Peter hitchens I think it is. "

Peter Hitchens has been arguing for a hung parliament for the last 5 years (if memory serves me right) he's a dick (alledgedly ) and was in awe of Russia in the 80's.

I just noticed how extremely pretty Nick Clegg's wife is.

"I just noticed how extremely pretty Nick Clegg's wife is. "

O.K....

Sorry, but I did. I was looking at the Observer in the garage and thought how lovely she looked.

Sorry, it isn't very relevant to the thread I suppose. But I wanted to mention it.

SamanthaFox · 02/05/2010 16:25

apropos to nothing, really..

hi. if you search my username you'll find i've been on here since about 2004/5.

i've made rl friends on here.

i am passionately political and if you search me and iraq you'll find plenty of times i got shit loads of stick on here for my posts on the (illegal) war.

i am very excited about this election. last week, for the first time in my life, i joined a political party: the libdems (but i think you knew that was the one right?)

In 97 i voted labour. after iraq i swore i would never vote for them in this incarnation again.

so, yes, i'm really trying to rally support for the libdems on mn, because i love mn and because i really believe that a coalition govt (which even if libdems win the popular vote will be all we can hope for because our electoral system is fucked) with libdem control is our very best chance at electoral reform.

no i don't get paid. no, no one in the libdem party knows i'm doing it, i'm not doing it for them, i'm doing it for me, and my son, and my unborn ds2!

so by all means have a go, get angry with me, or whatever, but the implication that i'm a troll or a paid nobbler of mn is absolutely totally and utterly ridiculous and any quick search under my user name would reflect just that.

this was a good bump wasn't it

When I was originally on here yes, I kept getting mixed up with a similar poster, but not in about three (?) years.

electra · 02/05/2010 21:52

My natural choice would be libdem but where I live the seat is Labour and the closest contenders are Conservative by some way. So I feel compelled to vote tactically.

anastaisia · 03/05/2010 21:11

noooooo, electra. If any election is the one to vote according to natural choices it could be this one.

If the lib dems get a large % of the vote, and fewer seats it will show how screwed up the voting system is!
