UKIP want us out of the EU, I love Europe can't stand the EU.We pay 40 million a day to them
1)72% of our laws are now made in Brussells, from fuel taxes, farming, fishing and immigration.
2)We pay £40 million a day to be in the EU.
3)The Two richest countries in Europe-Norway and Switzerland are not even in the EU.
4)Under labour we now have 3.5 million extra people living in this country. We need proper border controls. Nick Cleggs policy is to count people in and out of the country, and force them to work in 'regions' totally unworkable. UKIP would keep our proud tradition of helping genuine asylum seekers.
5)UKIP does not appear to be anti-christian as do the other parties. The labour parties spin doctor Alistair Campbell said they "don't do God!" I do.
6)UKIP believes in holding referendums for the electorate on key local and international issues. I like this.
7)Crime is now out of contol, UKIP would build more prisons. Last but not least, Lord Pearson (leader) is 'posh' and does not try to hide it.

hope that didn't sound patronising btw

Habbibu · 26/04/2010 20:18

Seriously - someone called Alan O'Reilly wants rid of Catholics? Goodness me. And he sure doesn't know his history...

Fliight · 26/04/2010 20:19

and no offence intended to those who are not eejits

Lulumaam · 26/04/2010 20:25

let's have a snog and find a nice safe thread, then flight. actually, i need to do the ironing. actually a more interesting prospect thatn this one sided 'debate'

PinkoLiberal · 26/04/2010 20:26

I don't think Crystal does evidence?

be nice to see it if there is any though

The diea that bristoish culture is being eroded suggests to em that Crystal hasn't been in Wales on St David's day? We moced here 6 years ago and my, what a celebration.

Saying that when in England my rainbow group always ahd a St george's day party with a celebration of English food and stoies etc

The culture is there but it is totally the responsibility of the individual if they want it bigged up to any degfree: either you do it yourself or watch it fade.

And as for voting UKIP? Anything that might enable that revolting man to develop an even deeper and mroe misguided beleif that he represent me as a Bristish person is to be avoided. BAsic respect and manners are to be celebrated and a bvote for UKIP appears to be a vote against that.

PrincessFiorimonde · 26/04/2010 20:30

Daftpunk, you are not the only poster on this thread who has puzzled me with your views.

But you did post this on Friday:
"You only have Labour to blame for the rise in the BNP's popularity...if they hadn't flooded the country with Muslims and Somalians, Nick Griffin would be still be a nobody."

Do you really think that Labour (or anyone else) has "flooded" this country with migrants?

Did you really mean to pick out "Muslims and Somailians" in such a negative-sounding way?

I believe that you are from an Irish background (forgive me if I am wrong). So you must know that migrants from Ireland have been crossing to England, Scotland and Wales for a very long time.

And in the 1960s and 1970s, in particular, migrants from Ireland who came to English cities (especially London) were confronted, in lodging houses and workplaces, with the acronym 'NINA' ('No Irish Need Apply'). Do you personally know anyone who was affected by such notices?

I do.

Half my family are migrant Irish who arrived in England a few decades ago. And they were Catholic too. (But that's another argument.)

Point is - aren't these 'Muslims and Somalians' (and all other migrants) just the same as our Irish-migrant forebears who arrived here a few generations ago?

Do you have any thoughts on this?

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 26/04/2010 20:45

Princessfiorimonde - I have tried that one before.

DP will tell you that her parents were proper, hard-working immigrants, and the discrimination against them was a disgrace.

However, these modern immigrants, they are completely different and it is very important to discriminate against them. For reasons which she seems unable to specify.

crystal123 · 26/04/2010 20:46

Heathen. The points system does not make much differnce at all to mass immigration. Most of the immigration comes from within the EU. With another 8 countries now applying for candidacy, (see post) This country cannot do much about unlimited immigration, as there is freedom of movement within the EU. Unless we leave the EU.

BecauseImWorthIt · 26/04/2010 20:48

What would you do about all those pesky British people who want to go and work in other EU countries then, crystal? Forbid them?

Just like you wanting to go to Oz ...

PrincessFiorimonde · 26/04/2010 20:59

Heathen - thanks for the tip-off.

Hullygully · 26/04/2010 20:59

It's ver ver simple. No more dark of hue types what eat funny food. Fry ups all round in the name of St George. That Guillaume le Conq can feck off n all, turning us all Frog n that.

crystal123 · 26/04/2010 21:01

Lulumamm. I have never mentioned creeds, sexuality or anything else of this nature. You don't read the posts properly. We have a British culture, that I should have to explain to you, did you not listen at school? or were you brought up in cultural vacuum and know nothing of your own history, culture or heritage. Why don't you slxg off, other people's culture the Spanish say or the the Irish, because I certainly wouldn't, these countries like us, have a culture, but you seem to think that British people should somehow have to justify there own culture? You wouldn't dream of asking a person from another country to justify their own culture would you? You truly are the enemy within, a person who is not patriotic and has loathing for their own country.

Hully. This is a St George sausage. Apparently. Pleasing, isn't it?

weloveyoumisshannigan · 26/04/2010 21:07

What aspects of british culture do you consider to be under threat?

Where are all the self loathing people who hate their own culture? Do you have any examples of such people?

What do you think british culture would be like if striped of all foreign influence?

Do you think you could answer these questions without telling me to read the thread or telling me to look it up or telling me I should have learnt it in school?

weloveyoumisshannigan · 26/04/2010 21:08

That bread looks French to me Princess .

BecauseImWorthIt · 26/04/2010 21:11

So what do you define as British culture, crystal?

(And please - if you're going to swear or call someone something rude, just spell the word properly. Either don't use the language or spell it properly and stop being coy about it.)

And by the way, it's 'their' not 'there'.

Lenin. Stop being naughty at the back there. Sit up straight and concentrate. This is important.

PrincessFiorimonde · 26/04/2010 21:12

Crystal

Agreed with you above (can't remember how many pages ago) that we have so many disparate ethnically dispersed grandparents/great-grandparents, etc. that we can't even count how many of them might ever have stalked this planet.

OK?

Lulumaam · 26/04/2010 21:14

i'm the enemy within??????

the person on this thread who has has stated what i define as british culture
i am waiting for you to tell me what your opinion is

i am waiting for you to define the culture and show how it is being eroded

how is me saying what i think defines british culture, loathing the country?

Lulumaam · 26/04/2010 21:15

i am not seeking any justification, nor am i slagging off the british culture

i am interested in what you think it is , and where you see it being eroded

that is all

and please stop directing such ridicolous and ludicrous faux political insults at me, it is not terribly edifying to your cause

the enemy within! FFS

Greensleeves · 26/04/2010 21:17

I'm the enemy within

I don't give a shit about "British culture" and I think patriotism is an embarrassing and distasteful anachronism

I don't think our history as a nation is anything at all to be proud of

I don't think any "culture" needs to be preserved in aspic - human life moves on, if we allow it to

and personally I would abolish borders and immigration regulation altogether

and I don't think "our boys" in Afghanistan and Iraq etc are "fighting for our country" or anything so noble - they are fighting for US oil interests and the domination of other cultures by the West

can I please be shot without a blindfold?

Lulumaam · 26/04/2010 21:18

you say, "Shannigan. Cultural Suicide. Some but not all, of the Liberal Elite, with their self loathing for all things British/English, would destroy their own history, culture and heritage, and replace it with another. That is why they are so keen on mass immigration and multi-culturalism. This act of lunacy would not only be carried out not only to their own children, but mine and yours as well."

please can you point out where i have said anything remotely self loathing, and destructive and that i am wanting to destroy british culture and history

i have listed a few things i love about britain, and what i think defines its culture, i was hoping others would too. but i guess not,

maybe i should have put celebrating st georges day, and sticking a union flag outside my window as a measure of my commitment to this culture

PrincessFiorimonde · 26/04/2010 21:20

Ummm, weloveyoumisshannigan what's the word meaning French stick bit of bread from our proud British heritage, please?

weloveyoumisshannigan · 26/04/2010 21:28

French bread has a thicker crust than English. We use bread cakes (or baps or cobs) for hot dogs which have a softer crust.

Turns out I do know something about British culture after all .

PrincessFiorimonde · 26/04/2010 21:29

Greensleeves. Just read your last post here. Don't want to be a 100% adoration puppy. And am aware you've never come across me before. But have to say - I totally agree with you.
