UKIP. I'm voting for them. This is why;

UKIP want us out of the EU, I love Europe can't stand the EU.We pay 40 million a day to them
1)72% of our laws are now made in Brussells, from fuel taxes, farming, fishing and immigration.
2)We pay £40 million a day to be in the EU.
3)The Two richest countries in Europe-Norway and Switzerland are not even in the EU.
4)Under labour we now have 3.5 million extra people living in this country. We need proper border controls. Nick Cleggs policy is to count people in and out of the country, and force them to work in 'regions' totally unworkable. UKIP would keep our proud tradition of helping genuine asylum seekers.
5)UKIP does not appear to be anti-christian as do the other parties. The labour parties spin doctor Alistair Campbell said they "don't do God!" I do.
6)UKIP believes in holding referendums for the electorate on key local and international issues. I like this.
7)Crime is now out of contol, UKIP would build more prisons. Last but not least, Lord Pearson (leader) is 'posh' and does not try to hide it.

Did you see Lord Pearson on the BBC News Channel election programme last night? He didn't appear to have actually read his own party's manifesto!

Crystal123

Welcome to MN.

Have you tried out any other topics other than politics?

Chaotica · 20/04/2010 12:03

crystal23 - you seem to be the same kind of nutter as the members of UKIP. They are welcome to you. Welcome to MN.

Chaotica · 20/04/2010 12:06

Sorry - I didn't mean that to sound like a personal attack. Please replace 'nutter' with 'xenophobic basketcase without sensible policies' and allow me to say that I wish to directly insult neither crystal123 nor anyone with mental health problems.

ChickensHaveSinisterMotives · 20/04/2010 12:09

My Dad is standing as a UKIP candidate. We have agreed not to discuss it, for both our sakes.

crystal123 · 20/04/2010 12:10

Wordsonscreen. Not yet but I will, with politics it's subjective and hopefully one does not have to hurt other people's feelings, facts not personal attacks! I must improve my spelling! (absolutely atrocious at times!)

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 20/04/2010 12:12

Really? Yesterday you were telling us how great David Cameron is.

Yes, you should definitely vote UKIP, they are a very sensible party with some great ideas. And you should tell all your Conservative friends how great they are too.

notwavingjustironing · 20/04/2010 12:13

When will they all go away ?

I can make my own mind up thank you, without being patronised by Political parties on MN!

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 20/04/2010 12:15

In fact, have you considered campaigning for them? It's not too late in the day, you know!

crystal123 · 20/04/2010 12:17

Heathen. David is a very nice man, although I won't be voting him.

OP posts:
itsmeitsmeolord · 20/04/2010 12:18

Nah. You haven't convinced me. If you really want to influence votes try starting a proper thread where you don't do that awful "dumbing down" thing because you have a really outdated idea of what women and parents are actually bothered about.

Have you looked at the info on the mumsnet census? Most of us are very well educated you know. I'm sure we would be able to keep up with a political debate about why UKIP could be an option.

(Although, tbh, I doubt very much that you would find anyone on here happy to vote for you)

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 20/04/2010 12:19

Can I just clarify 5) Alistair Campbell's 'we don't do God' quote?

He was talking about the fact that Tony Blair was a sincere and committed Christian - the reason they wouldn't talk about God (which is what the quote refers to) is they knew it would go down like a bucket of cold sick with the UK electorate, who prefer their politicians answerable to them, instead of starting wars because God tells them to.

crystal123 · 20/04/2010 12:23

Heathen. David is a very nice man, although I won't be voting him.

crystal123 · 20/04/2010 12:32

Heathen. Blair seems to have only found 'God' once he had left political office, he then became a Catholic. Shows the state of the country that he was too frightended to mention his beliefs before, unlike Lord Pearson and David Cameron "who does do God".

OP posts:
crystal123 · 20/04/2010 12:43

Itsmeitsmeolord. I've got two degrees. So what? Are you saying that people should not post on here, if they are not educated?
Unfortunately for you everyone has the right to post what they wish, even if you disagree with it. Personal attacks only demean you, and not the person you are attacking.

OP posts:
BecauseImWorthIt · 20/04/2010 12:47

Can we have some proper data to back up your assertions, crystal, instead of hysterical ranting?

crystal123 · 20/04/2010 12:53

Worthit. I have given you the facts as above. I do not wish to keep repeating myself. The above is fact, as I've said before, not personal attack. It's up to you, take it or leave it.

OP posts:
TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 20/04/2010 12:57

Were you not around in 1997? Because the issue of Blair's religion was widely discussed in the press.

This was a big issue in our house, we both wanted rid of Tories as they were a nightmare, DH was christian and trusted Blair, I was atheist and didn't.

And the whole WMD debacle brought out exactly the sort of thing I was worried about; "I believe this, therefore it is true, no matter what the evidence says"

AppleTreeWick · 20/04/2010 12:59

If I could be bothered (and had the time) I would wish to dispute points 1,2,3,4,5 and 7 above.

Point 6 interestingly whilst I might dissagree with the efficacy of constant referendums (witness California) in actually governing a state/country I can see the attraction so will let that one go...

So will sign off now as officially too bored to argue.

itsmeitsmeolord · 20/04/2010 13:07

hahahaha! Yes I am on my second degree as well, there are a few of us here I think you'll find.

I didn't make a personal attack, perhaps you should revise your comprehension skills.

I fail to see where I stated you could not post on here.
Nor did I state that you cannot post if you do not have a degree.....

I did however point out that you are patronising members with your approach. Think of it as constructive critiscism.

helyg · 20/04/2010 13:09

So, as you've ignored my first post, I'll ask again:
did you see Lord Pearson making a fool of himself appearing on the BBC last night?

whomovedmychocolate · 20/04/2010 13:10

Roll on May 7th

tartyhighheels · 20/04/2010 13:12

ukip - what a waste of your vote
