April 22nd TV Debate

I'm going along to be in the audience this Thursday for the Sky News TV Debate - it's being filmed in the South West, although it seems we're not supposed to say exactly where for security reasons.

Would people like an official MN behind-the-scenes report afterwards?

Should I break the rules and heckle/cheer loudly at a strategic moment, and if so then when?

If I'm allowed to ask a question should I go "off-script" and ask about biscuits?

Is there anything else I should think about?

MollieO -I agree rePMQs. I was totally expecting DC to wipe the floor with these debates. I was also half expecting to be converted by the conservatives during this campaign. Over the last year I've thought DC quite credible.

Now the more I hear, the less I want the Conservatives anywhere near power. The start of it was the bizarre manifesto and it just gets worse.

DreamsInBinary · 22/04/2010 22:08

looks like I am in the minority

posieparker · 22/04/2010 22:08

How do i find out what I vote? link, please.

TwoIfBySea · 22/04/2010 22:09

Ed Balls is a very good reason not to vote for Labour at all.

Heathcliffscathy · 22/04/2010 22:09

this week's abortion is last week's china vis DC...he knew as soon as he said it that it was a mistake as his core bluerinse electorate would hate it, nevermind the catholics.

and last week apparently he equated china with iran in terms of threat which was a bit of a diplomatic gaffe to say the least.

alicatte · 22/04/2010 22:10

Nick Robinson says that the polls are coming out 30/30/30 just about. I thought that too.

JustMyTwoPenceWorth · 22/04/2010 22:10

sky are disgustingly biased! There's a real venom against clegg.

TDiddy · 22/04/2010 22:10

"hink this journo is right - DC and GB both raised their game, but didn't land a knockout blow on Clegg." ...agree with that

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 22/04/2010 22:10

They all performed much better.

Nc was much stronger in the middle than dc last week. He also did well to draw the straw for final summing up, great last word (and good touch re slap stick stumble after the debate!)

BeenBeta · 22/04/2010 22:12

Kay Burley is one of the best interviewers/presenters on Sky. She really is tenacious.

Adam Boulton was a good moderator too.

Stopped watching BBC years ago.

wubblybubbly · 22/04/2010 22:12

Balls or Gove? Balls or Gove? Balls or Gove? Chips!

MmeLindt · 22/04/2010 22:12

Edam
I am a Labour voter, with Green leanings. No surprise there really.

missymousie · 22/04/2010 22:13

I'm so shocked at the bias (though pretty naive of me) - but sky shouldn't be allowed to hold this sort of serious political debate again.

Perhaps SKY could organise a panel to discuss whether Cougar Town is better than SITC or Desperate Housewives obviously as much responsibility as they can handle

atlantis · 22/04/2010 22:14

"Kay Burley is one of the best interviewers/presenters on Sky. She really is tenacious."

Love Kay, she's vicious with everyone.

Much better than boring paxman.

wubblybubbly · 22/04/2010 22:14

Kay Burley? Is that who she is. She's about the rudest person I've ever seen on telly! At least Paxman and Snow have some charm.

alicatte · 22/04/2010 22:14

Does Murdoch own Fox News as well - or is that just a rumour?

IagreewithNick · 22/04/2010 22:14

Beenbeta I think that Kay thinks she is being tenacious she seems vacuous and rude,

Bumperliouzzzzzz · 22/04/2010 22:14

Watching George Osborne on BBC. He really gives me the heebie jeebies.

Do you know what, I think the electorate just want a bit of honesty. I would respect them much more if, for example George said 'yeah, DC did a bit shite this time, but it doesn't matter because our policies are pretty great'.

BoggleJunior · 22/04/2010 22:16

I was one of the thousand plus in the YouGov poll.

I have never been sent anything negative about Clegg, or any other politician.

alicatte · 22/04/2010 22:16

I'm watching the ipsos mori 'worm' on BBC News. People apparently want to see the leaders working together and the leaders gain points when they agree - interesting.

MollieO · 22/04/2010 22:16

Kay Burley made Peter Andre cry by asking him whether he minded someone else being his dcs father. She is all about self promotion imho.

Heathcliffscathy · 22/04/2010 22:17

yes murdoch own fox news. and we all know how unbiased they were during the US election (vis the daily show, any episode)

MollieO · 22/04/2010 22:18

I wish we could see 'the worm' during the actual debates

vesela · 22/04/2010 22:19

First election streaker - at a big screen showing in Bristol centre, apparently...

alicatte · 22/04/2010 22:19

sophable
Really? Do they really? Wow I was half joking, Oh well best stick to the Simpsons and House on Sky then.
